@@landscapingspecialist good idea but I dont think that would be a good choice of profession if that were the case 🤔 haha. I'd maybe choose something with a little less publicity.
Wow, Floe could have shown off their trailers to 17,000+ people in one shot. I think if I owned the company, I'd be looking for a salesman with a little more knowledge of how technology works today.
The FLOE trailer guy being that cagey because of a camera causes me to wonder two things. 1. What have they been caught on camera lying about before? 2. What are they trying to hide? Those are the only two logical reasons someone wouldn't want to pitch their product to 650,000 subscribers.
I'm glad I saw this video. I know this is over a year old, but I "WAS" looking at Floe Trailers for a new project that I had fell into and thought they were a good fit. This representative made me realize I don't want to do business with them because of his attitude. Never the less I went with another company and ecstatic that I did. Thank you Dirt Monkey for saving me a bundle.
The Floe interaction just proves that some presidents of companies are so far removed from their customer and the market that they do more harm than good and are way over paid. This president should hire a good marketing manager and let them do their job.
So after seeing the floe guy, every time I see them trailers I’ll think of that jackass. I wish you would’ve never blurred his face out when you do that. I feel like you shouldn’t even show the video.
This guy and his demeanor makes me want to avoid his company. Seems to me he wasn't comfortable speaking about the features and benefits of his product to 650k people that are certainly his target consumers for one of two reasons: either his product doesn't have many features and benefits over his competitors or he BS's to the public about his product at these trade shows. Either way, his attitude makes it out like he doesn't want any wide visibility on what he does. Marketing fail. Stan's reaction (super cordial and even gives the rep another shot to regroup and try again) amplifies how bad the rep's interaction was. I would be surprised if the company doesn't reach out to Stan, after marketing does their "due diligence" lol Great video as always, Stan!
To be fair, he didn't know upwards of a million views were incoming. Stan could have been some rando jackass with ten subscribers for all he knew. He could have looked him up, and found out in five seconds though lol
It always amazes me when I've encountered these kinds of sales staff that just don't see the potential benefit of "controlling the message" by giving you an informative, easy to understand breakdown of thier product, in a professional but otherwise friendly manner and are willing to answer any and all kinds of questions no matter how silly it might seem, all to ensure the potential buyer has all the information they need.... just like every single one of the other sales people Stanley spoke to did, before Don came on the scene. I used to be a salesman and the moment you said "maybe you'd like to give us more information about the product" and he said "no I'm not sure I want to" I was like - he should be fired. The right answer was "absolutely sir, it would be my pleasure and thanks for giving me the opportunity to showcase our fine trailers for you and your audience". I've forwarded this YT to Floe International with a tweet, be interesting if they respond or reach out to you Stanley.
He is afraid he will creatively edit and twist his words. E.g., if he ever answers NO or YES, he could splice the question to make it look bad. Do you have a QC issue- "YES!" Bottom line, he does not trust this guy or his motives.
Did trade shows for about 30 years and would have been thrilled to have an opportunity to share my products/ solutions with social media / Hell man you’re doing all the work. Those guys blew it . That’s why I was there …

@@tombrandt9406 You have it backwards, the folding trailer guy is a marketer but what they need at a show is a sales rep. He lost it when he folded his arms, that shows a lack of confidence, and you can't sell something like that.
When the owner watches this video and realizes his employee just made his product look bad on the most popular RUclips channel in his field, that employee will be fired. If not, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree and their marketing failures will continue - which is the demise of any business.
They went from having an awesome lead source generator with entire groups of people interested in buying these products, to the same group of people who now will think twice and buy somewhere else a little more friendlier and helpful. That was a lot of fear on display. That reaction tells me that if I bought one of their trailers, once the sale was done, nothing but crickets would be heard.
I guess that makes me one of the 650 thousand "people" who have now done my diligence and think they have something they are hiding and wouldn't buy even a trailer light from them now.

Wow. That was a horrible experience and interaction with both of those representatives. I rewatched it several times because I could not believe it. You did a good job on keeping your cool.

Why was he so concerned that Stan makes money off his videos? It almost was like he was looking for a way to profit off it and if he couldn't weasel something out of it then he wasn't "interested". Well, there actually was a way to profit from Stans video but he was so concerned about what someone else might be earning that he couldn't focus on making anything himself. 😃
Those trailers are top secret information. Not just anyone can walk up and take pictures….. oh, wait…. that’s the whole point of the trade show, my bad
I guess the "Marketing man" was not so good at marketing. 😂 "I'm on RUclips, this is my audience", reply "I don't know what that is". What? Welcome to marketing prior to 2005. I am more inclined to purchase ANY of the other manufacturers trailers than one from Floe. If their marketing is that bad then what kind of quality are the trailers they make? Even if it’s top notch, the attitude of the employees, that one in particular, makes me look elsewhere.
The employees that manufacture FLOE products are cringing at Don's etiquette. Please reconsider the FLOE brand on account of the quality and hard work that they put into those products.
@@mikeruthford7849 guess Don hasn’t learned how to go with the Floe. Please let him know he’s been nominated for the Tool of the Year award, and it’s not for his trailer

Love the trailer content Stan! Ps; Not sure where this guy thought he was….but the ENTIRE idea of a trade show is to allow manufacturers to get their product out there, photos, video, word-of-mouth. And in this digital age we’re in, what you were doing is exactly what participants of the trade show want.

With everything going with social media right now you guys can’t wrap your heads around why they want to know who’s promoting their equipment really? Clearly most of you have never been Business owners.
Can't believe how tight arse that person was he is trying to advertise his trailer but don't want to give others to show there trailer. That's how they don't make the money. Great videos keep doing what your doing.

He probably didn't want to thinking you would try to tarnish his name. That's the only possible thing I could think off lol. I mean why wouldn't you want to.
Those dump bins need a simple built-in scale that lets you know when the weight limit is reached. Helps customers get the most out of the bin and protects the operator and his equipment.
Not really practical to put a scale on the box, too easy to damage the load cells. A scale on the trailer would be a good option, that's how the big roll off trucks do it.
It's a good idea in theory, but at least with roll offs we get guys dropping concrete slabs over the side or dragging them around around an excavator... it wouldn't hold up

Not the best salesmen oof 😬. Thats really unfortunate for them. The others understood even if you dont like to be on camera this is your opportunity to reach way further than the trade show. Sales lost for sure just with the bad attitude but also the lost opportunity to hype their product. How would the customer service be if the sales people have this much attitude?

The Floe guys reaction does not surprise me at all. I had several dealings with the company back in the early 2000's they were all a PITA. They could make the best product on the market (which they don't) and I would not purchase it. I'm almost embarrassed that they are a MN company.

You do realize that was the actual Vice President of the company. And nothing is wrong with not wanting to be on camera answering questions about your product. Especially since he didn’t know who Stanly was or what the intention was. A lot of companies shy away from answering questions on camera when they are just put on the spot like that for a lot of reasons, anything they say can be taken out of context, the guy is the VP and doesn’t care about stanly or his audience. Your POV is redundant and ridiculous. If you went to ANY company for 90% of the products you use on a daily basis and put a camera in their face they would do the same thing. I doubt you have even been to many trade shows if any, but it’s pretty uncommon to see a guy asking everyone questions while filming. Most of the people at these are actual companies looking for contracts for their businesses for private or commercial use. You gotta remember that dirt monkey makes a living off of this, so technically he is making money showcasing a product that isn’t his, they would obviously want to be In control of how their product is portrayed.
He’s probably the owners nephew, because he certainly isn’t a salesman. I owned a marketing firm, been to more of these shows than I care talk about and that guy did unimaginable damage to his brand by acting that way. You can have hundreds of satisfactory experiences with a product and nobody will likely hear about it, but one terrible experience will be noted and recounted many times. Marketing 101

The situation was a little awkward, only because I think we're all embarrassed for the president's ignorance, but Stan handled it very smoothly live. What is the company president doing at the trade show if he isn't willing to pitch the product to hundreds of thousands of potential customers?
The whole time I was watching the video, I was thinking how lucky each company was to get so much free advertising. Then the last guy looks a gift horse in the mouth. That was painful to watch
I expected the next words out of that guy's mouth to be like, "I don't know what this MeTube is all about but it's illegal to film me without my permission." He seems destined to stay in charge of A very small plastic trailer company.

It had Carlisle tires and brand name hubs. It was only about $400 bucks. If you don't need a BIG trailer, it's pretty darn good. People are afraid of cameras. Every one loves to act like they are in charge. Many more accommodating manufacturers out there . Good Job shedding light on this one.
Good stuff, thanks for the updates and info. What I really, really dislike about nearly all these companies is that none of them provide a price without calling them first. I don't want to call every trailer dealer for a price to shop, I want to shop by comparing features AND $$$$$.

That’s where GVW differs from GVWR. What's the difference between GVWR and GVW? The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is the maximum amount of weight the trailer is able to safely hold and transport, as rated by the manufacturer. The gross vehicle weight (GVW) is how much the trailer and its payload weighs together. Always pay attention to the GVW, after calculating the GVWR.
@@gsettlemyre I know the difference as I've been doing this stuff for 30 years, I commented on this because the salesperson referred to the gross weigh on a trailer of 14,000 lbs whereas that the gross weight and lots of rookies think they are getting a 14,000 lb dump trailer whereas that's not the case but the sales person wants to make a quick sale so they use thr higher number to trick the person into buying the trailer only for them to find out later by a state trooper when they get forced to run over a scale.

This reminds me of the Kubota guy at the Minnesota State Fair. Back in the '80s when Machinery Hill still had cool farm tractors. Everyone was climbing on the John Deeres, etc (which was encouraged); I went over to the Kubota display and sat on a tractor and two seconds later the Kubota guy said 'That's enough, get down". And it's not like I was touching anything other than the steering wheel. Nor was anybody waiting in line (like at the other brands). Kubota lost a customer for life there.
@Jennifer WhiteWolf: Yes, thank you, you're right; it is sad. (My college roommate had a Kubota and was a big Kubota fan). The parallelism here is so similar in that both Kubota and Floe produce quality products (The Floe trailer is very well constructed for the general homeowner), but all it takes is one jerk to turn people away. After 30 years though, maybe I'll take another look at Kubotas 😀.
Woah - the same thing happened to me in the 80s at the Iowa State Fair. Probably the same guy! I was only 12-13 but recall that I would never buy anything Kubota because of that experience.
@Jim jibroni being a real farmer and not a hobby farmer, I’ve recently turned to a kubota skid steer and it is an outstanding machine. Not saying I had horrible experiences with the bobcats we had over the years, but the gehl and case skid steers we have/had are subpar. Normally these trade shows have the higher up people at these companies too, so it's probably a good reflection of the customer service you'd expect to get.
I think its crazy that FLOE Trailers is at a trailer expo, to show off their new models and when Stan shows interest they don't want the information being shared. If you are not proud of your product you keep it to yourself.

Same here, I was for the first time about to impulse buy a trailer for my 2 quads when I seen composite and aluminum setup. UNTIL THOSE IDIOTS SHOWED UP.
That Floe crew had some superb sales and marketing skills! Totally dropped the ball on one of their biggest and cheapest advertisement... leave people like that at home when you go to a place meant to advertise your product lol
Had a Aluminum trailer once before and never again , everywhere there was a Bolt running through Aluminum after 1 year the bolts wobbled the hole bigger and became unsafe . No matter the size they are to light and bounce down the road. Steal and heavy is the best .
I really don’t know what Grade the Aluminum was but was pretty much built with 1 1/2” to 6” steel bolts , it looked nice but after 1 years use it started making more noise going down the road hauling a Side By Side, you could grab most Bolts and shake them side to side ! Even in the thick wall tubbing on the under carriage the bolts Wobbled the holes ! Never really over loaded it or abused it but chuck holes in roadway or dirt roads pot holes really took a ponding on the Aluminum! After 1 year half use as is trailer I took it back to the Dealer that sold me the Side By Side and Trailer , the owner had the same thoughts as I , he said it’s not right and told me to leave it here so he can get the Trailer shop owner up to look at it , a week went by and received and call from Bike Shop , he said the owner won’t take it back and stuck it on the bike shop since they sold it to me !!! 1 day went by and received a call back from bike shop , the owner said he will give me 100 percent refund WOW cool . All said and done he dose not sell any more Aluminum Bike Trailers anymore !!! So if a guy picks one up used Aluminum Trailer make sure you check for out of round Bolt Holes !

Thank you Dirt Monkey for saving me a bundle.
The Floe interaction just proves that some presidents of companies are so far removed from their customer and the market that they do more harm than good and are way over paid. This president should hire a good marketing manager and let them do their job.
Perfectly expressed….not a healthy place!!!
I would be surprised if the company doesn't reach out to Stan, after marketing does their "due diligence" lol

It does make you wonder why he feels insecure or threatened somehow. Perhaps something isn't so great with the product.

Love these videos Stanley, it helps me with what to look for in a trailer and what company (Floe) to avoid. Dear company CEO, don't fire him, drag him through broken glass until he understands where he went wrong.
Keep them coming Stanley.
Odd coming from a boomer asking for this guy to be dragged through glass…. Cancel culture much?
@@taylorgang907 cancel culture much? Well most boomers know how to construct a sentence/questions along with understanding what we read, cancel culture would want the company to be shut down, try again.
@@gsaexperience8578 I did see the follow up video on this and he did regeem himself. I do understand what Stanley does, watch all his videos,
Their president's name is Don. Seriously wonder if that's him
He’s probably the owners nephew, because he certainly isn’t a salesman.
He's the company's president named Don VanderMey
@@texasboy2005 Don is not the owner. He is the international President. Wayne Floe is CEO
@@trimble1049 I never said he was the owner.

@@trimble1049 What is the brand?
Interesting interaction lol. Love that car hauler with the beveled rail , great video man!!!
Thanks buddy!
Wow! I've had similar things happen before and it's always super awkward...mainly for them. I always say "they either get it or they don't.....and if they don't, it's a big loss on their end". Cheers brother
A wild JD has been spotted!! 🤣😂
@@nightfall22 That soul is still in purgatory, might just stay there with that judgement! You can see what their motives are.
What a genius lol This day and age I'd think someone might expect this at any trade show, SEMA or any of that! I've had similar reactions from folks in the past at trade shows....frustrating to the point that I just don't go much anymore
Stoney Ridge, did you ever finish your dads Jeep? I need to go back to watching your channel. I recently bought a new motorcycle so my interest has turned to those videos. That being said, this is why HD or Indian or any other manufacturer invites the RUclipsrs on demonstration rides cause they know biased videos will go out to be seen by 10’s of thousands of people who are interested in that product instead of paying for expensive TV commercial’s that every one will either FF through or get another beer from the fridge.
BTW- thanks for talking to the guy with the fold up trailer. I have limited space in my garage and those will fit nicely.
@@davidhempsted9081 Hi David, Don't laugh but Harbor Freight had had foldable 4 foot X 8 foot trailers for years. I bought my son in law one last year and we put it together in an afternoon. I admit I was impressed with the build quality. They have two versions, I got the more expensive one. It was only like $30 or $40 more and had a higher load capacity. It had Carlisle tires and brand name hubs. It was only about $400 bucks. If you don't need a BIG trailer, it's pretty darn good. He took it from TN to NY right after he got it and had used it a lot since then.
I HATE it when prices aren't shown. Mostly it's annoying and I'll go somewhere else, but i just thought of something. WHY don't they state a price? Is it a case by case basis, and they wuote higher prices to someone that looks gullible enough, and claim they sold it at normal price, to score more profit on paper?
Are they dipshits, or tax dodgers?? lolol
@@dethmaul I had a sales person at a trailer company tell me they don’t advertise the prices online or over the phone because they don’t want the competition to beat their prices. He was happy to tell me to drive an hour one way to get the prices in person. I told him that didn’t make sense because if I owned a company competing against another company, I’d either go around and get the prices, or I’d hire someone to do it for me. But I most certainly wasn’t going to drive an hour to discover they were over priced.
@@dethmaul Car lots do that very same tactic and yes, it's because they size the buyer up once they first speak. It's a sick move and I refuse to shop at places like that.
If they dont provide a ballpark price i go to another ballpark
I will NEVER buy a Floe intl. trailer or any product of their's just because of how that A hole came across. That guy stigmatized Floe for me in a very sour way.
Same. I’ll never do business or recommend them to anyone.
Seems extreme to disregard a manufacturer based on one persons reluctance to be videotaped… but you do you.

I'll never support a business with guys like that at the helm. I love businesses that are transparent and open with you. Much love to your channel and thank you for your hard work! If I ever need a trailer which guy to turn too 💚
I appreciate you taking the time to give us a look at new products and meet the people that are responsible for providing us with an image of the company behind the product. There are times where I love the product, but I develop even more of a love for the brand after you interview someone who is passionate, knowledgeable, and committed about their prospective view on how to do something right. I have purchased products because of your reviews and interviews. However this is one time I would have to make a mental note on why I wouldn't want to spend my money with this company. I can't imagine what a customer service request or warranty claim would consist of. Way to handle that professionally and please keep the content coming.
Couldn’t agree more! Thanks Vincent & glad you’re here 😁
I totally feel what your saying an agree with you 💯% on everything as well. I couldn't have said it any better myself brother.
That guy was FLOE Trailers president Don VanderMey ??? WOW, that company deserves to go out of business!!! WHAT A TOOL, I'll never consider one of their products again!. This shows EXACTLY why company principals (owners) should NEVER be allowed onto the sales floor! That's why SALES PROFESSIONALS are hired to facilitate that aspect of the business! On behalf of EVERY OTHER Minnesota citizen, WE APOLOGIZE on Mr. Vandermey's behalf !!!
LOL. Not sure why I found your comment so funny but I guess you said what I was thinking.
^What he said 😂👍
Should have hired Art Vandelay instead
I have a Floe snowmobile trailer and it's a well made trailer! This video doesn't give me a good feeling if I would need any customer service from them though! I will also say that you have to be cautious about everything these days, because you never know what kind of scam someone is trying to pull and you can't blame him for being cautious. With that being said and you telling him what was going on, on & off camera, that guy blew his opportunity to showcase his products to a huge audience for free! On top of it made him and his company look bad. I'm betting he'd be offended if you started asking him financial questions about his business, but he apparently didn't think it was an issue asking you those questions. WOW!

Stan u need to have these trailer dealers clarify those weight numbers cuz too many rookies think when dealer says 14,000 lbs that it's the magic number they can haul when in fact these dealers play games, they never tell u that the trailer weighs 4,000 lbs that comes off that 14,000 lbs.
Isnt that basic knowledge for everyone with a driving license?

Also we have the speed limit of 80kmh/50mph or 100kmh/62mph when the trailer has shocks, while towing in Europe
Occurs to me that at a trailer show, the exhibitors can not restrict your filming. You are a lot more polite than a lot of people. You are very professional. In Texas we would tell him to piss up a rope.
🤣👊👊
Totally agree, the products speek for themselves with an honest sales person. I personally wouldn't do business with that type of person but that's me. In your wonderings on trailers, looking for an inventive way to make my front Snowmobile rams angle back with an easy & consistent latch system. Seen a few different styles but nothing great. The ramps are attached to one another vs having a center post. Any thoughts??
You did a great overview of all the products. I knew when I saw the blurred face that THIS was our guy. You handled it very diplomatically and respectfully. Kudos.
Appreciate that 👊
I think the guy was scared that some of the flaws of the trailer would be pointed out. If there weren’t cameras allowed in the building then there would be a sign. Some people just crack me up. 🤣
Don VanderMey, President at FLOE International
Quite possibly 🤨
Thanks for showing us the trade show for trailer. Blown away by the reaction of the Floe Trailer Co. Rep. What a good ball! Good job exposing these guys. I am very certain if they behave this way a a show that is ment yo show case equipment, you don't want to ever do business with them. They'd be crooks for certain. They were laime!
So I just sent an email through Floe's product support contact page explaining how I won't be looking to them for my new trailer "for which I'm currently in the market" due to their marketing directors lack of performance. I didn't name names just expressed my disappointment.
Thanks for taking time out to show all of your viewers the innovation and products at these shows.
That is not the marketing director, that is the president of the company, Don VanderMey.
Yeah. Because you were in the market for a polymer trailer 🙄
Don’t be a POS review bomber. Who cares if the VP doesn’t want to be on camera and instantly divulge any and all information to some random guy with a camera. You are just as big of a clown as that guy since you went out of your way to send and email and lie to a company you had never heard of before to tell them you won’t buy from them. Get a fucking grip man. What a sad reaction.
Congrats, you just reached the next level liberalism. It is more commonly called a Karen!
Floe president Don is a. Idiot
Thats too bad you threw out the whole line over one bad local sales guy that likely is not even a direct Kubota employee. They make great tractors..
@Jim jibroni - says a JD fan boy
@Jim jibroni being a real farmer and not a hobby farmer, I’ve recently turned to a kubota skid steer and it is an outstanding machine. Not saying I had horrible experiences with the bobcats we had over the years, but the gehl and case skid steers we have/had are subpar.
Their z Turns are top of the line for someone with a lot outbuildings or rougher terrain and taller grass.
Don’t personally own any of their tractors as most of them are smaller, but did take note they are introducing one with a 6.7 Cummins and zf trans
rip Floe Stan has quite a big audience what a shame. good job keeping it proffesional

That last guy almost seems like he had something to hide. Id think twice before I would but ANYTHING from him

Wow.. Just wow ! My first impression of the small floe trailer was " we could really use 10 of those for our landscaping business" then that total and complete disaster rep from Floe pulled his power trip and our short lived desire to buy these went " POOF " .
Can you imagine trying to deal with this little Hitler ?
Ill let other know about this.
I know that's what I'm saying! It just doesn't really add up
I’m really late here, but “you do that. Do your diligence. Smart man” is perhaps top 10 funniest RUclips moments. Especially with your smirk. Thank you.
Good job Stanley and thanks for helping all of us see the latest in trailer ideas. Those representatives at Floe need a vacation or a disciplinary meeting for being that way. I know, they are thinking they want to protect their product patents, designs and promotions but they need to ease up. And yeah Stanley you are correct in saying a company can make or break their own products. We purchase what makes economic and practical sense.

Oooh yeah that makes sense.
What grade of aluminum was that trailer made from? Any idea what brand or make/model?
