you get into the complication of should an officer treat every high threat situation or any situation as a possible "swatting" hoax; when you deal with situations as tense and deadly as these officers do you can't second guess so you have to assume the threat is real regardless.
That officer also had the flag on his right shoulder oriented the wrong way too, its supposed to look "backwards" on the right shoulder because that is how it appears while charging into battle from the right side

Just because its called a "Swatting" doesn't mean the swat teams are called immediately. In this situation they send all available units because for all they know, there could be a suspect; or multiple suspects, opening fire on anybody they see.
When the SWAT team is called, it take them quite a while to get in preparation and head over there, that's why they just bring all available units

Michelle My Belle no they cannot fix it... even if game console makers blocked custom connections (which they won’t) you could always reroute the connection via the router or a network switch or a Virtual Local Area Network you are hosting on a computer and proxying around via a Virtual Private Network being mirrored in China, Russia, Etc etc...
Also ontop of these, people who tend to do swatting (note tend to, not always). Know how to cover their trails... if they know how to Doxx (remotely stealing person’s entire personal info including address, copies of license, phone numbers, credit card/debit card numbers, etc etc) than they tend to know how to cover them selves..
As someone who has been harassed before by a claimed swatter, I know how it works because I had to suffer rebuilding my network to prevent an actual swatting.
I think the China address might be a spoof, but a guy in Wichita, Kansas died in a swatting so it does deserve a life sentence.

About the phone call being from china. It may have very well come from china. I build VOIP systems for companies and they are basically just internet phones registered to a linux or Cisco CUCM routers. Often what happens is that someone finds out the passwords to add more phones to the server, and they sell the passwords on the internet, or use it for their own malicious reasons. What may of happened here is the person who called the police had unauthorized access to one of these systems in China, and called that local police agency. Even if you use a VPN for wifi calling, that phone number you use is still going to show up to the registered owner. Most VOIP system have SIP trunking to make phone outbound phone calls. Using a US phone number registered to some random SIP provider, and a china IP address.
The Chinese also hack the video games online you can't win against them

Actual advice: if you are a streamer, you can actually 'report' yourself to police before you start doing streams and such. Once police know who you are, if someone tries to SWAT you they'll give you a courtesy call saying that a team is inbound (you'll still get the full SWAT treatment, but they'll tell you exactly how to treat the situation and the exact commands the SWAT team will tell you). In some cases they may not send a team at all; they might just send one officer over to check on things.
This has happened to many streamers. Dr. Lupo has been swatted very often.
