- Another adventures of Ben Cartwright and his sons (Pernell Roberts, Dan Blocker, Michael Landon and Mitch Vogel) as they run and defend their ranch while helping the surrounding community.
It’s nice to see actors from the 70’s. Gary Busey looked wild back then also. Good episode though.
Mike Farrell better known as Dr. B.J. Hunnicutt.
So many actresses and actors were featured on Bonanza. It is so entertaining watching them act when young.

the storylines of the early first 6 seasons differ greatly from the latter seasons
as they dealt with more topics that strayed away from typical western storylines
such as Gunfights and Indian attacks.
They tried to keep the show going, but it just didn't have the horse power after Roberts and Blocker were gone. An aging Greene and greying Landon just weren't enough. Amazing that Landon was getting that grey at just 37...

Pernell Roberts and Dan Blocker are not in this episode. Roberts left long ago and Blocker had passed on. The show was never the same without them.

@sam peckersoner He was 43. He threw a clot (pulmonary embolism) after gall bladder surgery. His sons look just like him. It was so sad. I loved his character on Bonanza for his kindness, and Roberts as the intelligent sensible older brother. I didn't care for Landon at all.
Adam hated the show .he also hated the cast .the cast hated him as well. They were glad to see him go
Life goes on it was a great show...it was a show..when I got older,I use to wonder how many times they had to stop from cracking up 😹..I figured they partied like crazy where.the season was over..they were awesome peaple in real life... I'm old now and I binge on this show when i want to feel nastalgiac ♥️
Is that Gary Busey? The guy that played Buddy Holly in the Buddy Holly story. I don't see him being Bonanza material. I'll have to watch soon. But won't be easy since Adam nor Hoss I guess aren't there. Won't be the same.

This is the last season 1973 of Bonanza so Hoss died last year and Adam off probably doing Traper John series.

This is the first episode I’ve seen after the death of Dan Blocker, and it’s desperately sad because of that fact but it was certainly a well written episode. It was good to see Mike Farrell who would later play a doctor again in M*A*S*H (Capt B J Honeycutt).
And Roberts went on to play Trapper John MD
While the show was never the same, and all series must come to an end..... I wish there still shows like this today.

he is a functional addict. he has been using the drug for a long time, built up a tolerance, doesnt feel the same effects and is able to do things with no difficulties. you may have friends and relatives who are like this.
I thought Dr. B Honeycutt looked familiar.
I think morphine or not the guy had already lost too much blood. The doctor does need help because he has too many accidents and needs Morphine to do his job.

That other brother is so selfish and stupid. Look, I’m not defending the Doc he was selfish to his Father. Poor man lost one son, he kills a person, then he gets hung and now his Father has to bury 2 sons. Not to mention he even tried to kill good family friends Joe and Ben. I wouldn’t do that to my parents.

without adam and hoss, bonanza lost it’s exceptionnel quality.
candy and the curly kid didn’t have charisma and brought bonanza to a lower-class event...should have stopped it or gotten better casting...
They should have kept Guy Williams as cousin Will Cartwright, but Landon couldn't stand that Williams was better looking than him. He is the one responsible for them writing Williams off the show.

Thumbs down ... this isn`t s14 ep10 this is s14 ep 9, I`m not a fan of Buddy Holley but Gary Busey had him down pat. And I was surprised to read that Gary and his band played their the instruments and all of them sung also.
