These step by step procedures that you presented in your video is perfectly awesome. This can serve as a proof to those planning to build their own log cabin that it is not as difficult as what they think.
But what if the slab's already built? This thing is probably strong enough that you could just hoist it up in a few years and big a basement underneath.
Such a shame that a proper base was not constructed for the cabin. Uneven patio slabs are not suitable. A proper concrete base with metal reinforcement is needed and it needs to be perfectly level.
Windows and door frames are fastened using joinery to the structure instead of mechanical fasteners to allow vertical expansion of the wood.... but then the horizontal planks that make up the walls are screwed together. Wouldn't this cause the walls to buckle when they expand?
how does that foundation work ? is it soil cement.? or just pile of dirt. sand? compacted? how does it handle frost heave is it up to code in the us? up to code where you are?
This kit doesn't come or isn't intended for insulation they way it is built. I purchased one of these for an off grid cabin on a piece of woods I own. I had to do my own design to make this work where I live. I added studs to the inside and more beams so I can add insulation
What kind of wood is that because i want to build a Storage house that has an up stair's and down stairs' so i can fit my studio and Guest Bed Room for the upstairs
I like how it's put togethrt but that foundation scares me. It looks like concrete patio blocks laying in the ground. Also noticed there is no insulation under the floor. Don't need it?
Wow, the trolls really came out in full force on this comment section. We get it guys, they aren't "logs"... But it's a log cabin concept. Also, I purchased one of these smaller units in the US for an off-grid cabin. There are things you can do yourself to not only make this more structurally sounds, and add insulation value. These aren't built for a full time residence... These are workshops, or guest houses, meant to be used a few hours here, or a few nights there. You guys are so caught up on "codes". You're missing the point. Most people 1) can't afford a "real" log cabin kit, or 2) don't have the time to make their own logs. This is a cheaper and faster alternative to get that log cabin feel. I added studs inside mine so I can put 1 1/2" insulation foam sheets in the walls and roof and also 12x12 vintage log beams I took from and old house we torn down. I finished it off with some scrap wooden planks from a saw mill. My place, although "not to code" it not going anywhere. And the extra material I used only added up to about $560 and made a world of difference.
Trolls are gonna troll. Did you seal or paint the wood with anything? I've seen a lot of these buildings here on YT, but no one ever does anything to protect the wood. I'm thinking about buying a full size house (1700 sq ft) from EZ Log Structures, but I would definitely want to use some stain and polyurethane.
True thin ass wall's no , insulation anywhere , just a cheap shell probaly looking for £13 - £15 k build better of buying dbl glazed tidy kitted ready to live in mobile home , blocks around ,& Slate roof insulate walls , timber cladding still probaly be cheaper , 👍
this is a joke the walls are too thin there is no insulation and a severe wind gust would tear this building down the floor has no insulation value nor do the walls i think it would be a waste of materials and time...no township will approve these not even code building
I can't help but comment, if that construction were in southeastern US, within 2 yrs carpenter bees would be joining the owner. Any soft wood can be penetrat2d by these pests.
+James Hillman I was thinking the same thing. Plus there is so much rain that that would all swell and buckle. Over all this type of construction is atrocious. There's no real structure to stand up to the elements. There's no ability to insulate. I wouldn't even build a dog house like this.
+Chris Homesteader And yet in Finland, there are perfectly comfortable homes that constructed in a very similar manner over 100 years ago. You're a futon foreman who doesn't know jack about cabins.
These step by step procedures that you presented in your video is perfectly awesome. This can serve as a proof to those planning to build their own log cabin that it is not as difficult as what they think.
Wow, My best friend, Thank you for your hard work in making the video. I enjoyed the good video. Have a happy day.
This should be called a Lego house! Cool stuff!
this cabin looks so awesome. wish i could buy one
I am building a 5m x 3m Corner cabin. It's great to see you guys building this much bigger one!
That is the craziest thing I've ever seen. Now I want to build one of those!!!
Cool Video! Wish it had sound.
i wish you were in Arizona I need a cabin just like this. Great video .
Nice work. And that level was spot on :)
Nice work
Nice cabin.
Background music is vary good👍
Buen trabajo me gusta.Saludos desde Panamá.
love the wood, what wood is it?
wonderful
Wow, that went up quick! How much would something like that cost?
Pretty cool way to build a fishing cabin. now i just have to find some land to put it on? and hope it has a lake or river near bye?
Really nice cabin. The wood will be treat with some kind of paint for protection?
In 11 years and 3 weeks, one would think with nearly 672,000 views that there would be more than 121 comments and 1424 thumbs.
At -50 during the winter I would die in that thing!
@Alpacajon No but my washing machine sped up as a clip of a drill came on the screen which added to the realism ^^
well done guys - i want to build 1 in new zealand
Wouldn’t it be easier to level the slab when it was formed before you place the cabin on it?
But what if the slab's already built? This thing is probably strong enough that you could just hoist it up in a few years and big a basement underneath.
Tom Slak it’s worse than that! Those are just patio slabs! Far too thin and NO re enforcement in them!
Such a shame that a proper base was not constructed for the cabin. Uneven patio slabs are not suitable. A proper concrete base with metal reinforcement is needed and it needs to be perfectly level.
cool how much did it cost you
Had to turn the Volume Down. It was Way to LOUD!
XD
This is built better than my house - watch My Money Pit.
Verygood
Super !
How much does it cost to put one together?
one of the nicest cabin i seen .... i wonder how much it cost.
Windows and door frames are fastened using joinery to the structure instead of mechanical fasteners to allow vertical expansion of the wood.... but then the horizontal planks that make up the walls are screwed together. Wouldn't this cause the walls to buckle when they expand?

Beautiful ! ^&*
how would you insulate something like that? I didn't see you guys add any insulation at all.
Kenneth Davenport čiNiloy

How much does it cost to make one of those?
thats a jumbo set of linkin logs
How much time you take to this loghouse?
жаль, что у нас только летом
можно в таком жить...
Is it possible to get thouse plans :) ? i would be verry greatfull ...
Is it cold where you are? what about insulation? and with "worseto" can this be purchased in the US?
no DPC or insulation in the floor?
How much does it cost for one of those kits? I live in Canada so shipping is a factor.
they used no pressure treated lumber for the floor? give it a year and it will have major termite damage and rot.
Jim Parsons no termites there.. but humidity will ruin it all.
Does this have sound? o
incrivel manda a planta por favor!
Looks like my garden shed only smaller!
how is it to build one of those cabins
@logspan .very nice job sir.can you send us the home plan?thank you sir
thật tuyệt vời
Can it be insulated
Sound is your friend.
Sound would be good
Electrical and plumbing?
Deric Kettel solar and propane with a fresh water tank I guess
did u see that guy!! easly broke the window hahaha
how do i get a copy of those plans?
awesome! where can i get one, an how much does it cost?....
I will get you one for only £1999.99 delivered 🙃
I think you can buy these at a hobby store ,lol
If u built that in northern Canada where I live , after the first winter , it would b a pile of sticks laying on the ground
Тема хорошая
looks easier then it is.
where is this takin place'?
Do You sell these in the United States?
What kind of wood is that because i want to build a Storage house that has an up stair's and down stairs' so i can fit my studio and Guest Bed Room for the upstairs

not really here in eastern europe the ''handcrafted'' is popular for cabins in the mountains.
*Shed
12 years ago video
why is the wood not treated or finished before construction. Wouldn't that make more sense?
More like a dimensional lumber cabin.

no sound
I would’ve frozen to death in one of those upstate NY.
it would be easy to just lay 2x4 boards flat on top of each other and nail up a wall
You need to add narration to the video. It helps understand steps
more like 2x4 house build
HOW MUCH? HOW MUCH?
A wooden cabin, not a LOG Cabin - no logs that I can see.
00:01 I thought he is going to talk 😄😄 My mistake! 😅 Time for an update!!! How is the house doing in 2021????? 🙆🙌🙆
That will never hold up on the east coast winters
ali
I don't think this was built with only 8 screws :D
That roof wouldn't hold an 8 foot snow load , guaranteed the building would collapse
Uh, you forgot the logs.
to me thats more shed than cabin...
True thin ass wall's no , insulation anywhere , just a cheap shell probaly looking for £13 - £15 k build better of buying dbl glazed tidy kitted ready to live in mobile home , blocks around ,& Slate roof insulate walls , timber cladding still probaly be cheaper , 👍
Ikea cabin.
Log Cabin? Where are the logs? I see tongue and groove planks.
Untreated lumber directly on cement. This wouldn't fly where I live. Nice little cottage though.
no pressure treated wood for sub floor. no vapor block or insulation under that cabin? I do like the hardware. but lousy craftsmen.
No Sound either 🙄🤔
I don't think so guys.
This is a play house, a shelter for Rover, not a cabin.
this is a joke the walls are too thin there is no insulation and a severe wind gust would tear this building down the floor has no insulation value nor do the walls i think it would be a waste of materials and time...no township will approve these not even code building
This is a chalet what per definition is "a small cabin or house used by holidaymakers". You got the idea ?
I can't help but comment, if that construction were in southeastern US, within 2 yrs carpenter bees would be joining the owner. Any soft wood can be penetrat2d by these pests.

Lousy level on the building of the foundation.
dogadjaje. najstarija
dsa dm
Its not really a log cabin if its made out of planks..
pine floor ,thin walls,no installation, no electricity, no water,
not level, looks like 2x4 ,you guys face screwed everything ect, ectect.
Looks like it'll blow over lol cheap material
These guys are butchers.
NOT a LOG cabin - also that is NOT two story, that thing is called "loft space", and how many gallons of paint to weather proof it?
That's the weakest cheapest floor and foundation I've ever seen
