Wrong mate... that's not how it works. It's about control. How to control people... use their greed. Almost every political book from Machiavelli shows this. A person can remain in charge... greed is like an addiction and the capitalists are the junkies. The Bourgeoise are the dealers of the capitalists. And the capitalists come from upper, middle and lower classes. The ultra-powerful care about only 2 things... getting back at people and getting control of people. These are accomplished by many means... from black ops mercenary armies in war torn regions... to legislations and lobbying in democratic nations. They all require money though...
Yes. If something has value we will try to extract money from it. If you want to stop us, you have to change the laws. Cool ass job and cool people but you can feel the corporatism and greed throughout the company. John Boehner, former Speaker of the House, who fought to keep tough penalties for weed, has now joined a large corporation, Acreage Holdings, a major player in big cannabis. He fought to put little people in prison but when they found a way to venture capitalize weed he was all in.

Corporate greed or personal greed, it's all to obtain more money. Lock a bunch of people up one year, make millions doing the same thing they were doing the next year. And he will fall asleep soundly tonight. How? I don't know. My suspicion is that he, and many politicians from both parties have done much worse with regards to human rights violations of any stripe, that these hypocritical moves based on money are no big deal to them. When MO was legalizing, one of my wife's friends and her husband were preprepping to open a dispensary, she has months of asset acquisition, inspections, stacks of paperwork everything so they could pen the day things were legal and be up and running... only to watch those initial licenses go to like 3 huge companies and almost no local businesses. They had jumped through EVERY hoop, there's no reason they shouldn't have qualified, other than the obvious. So I appreciate the thesis here
That’s why home growing is the only way to guarantee a quality product because I guarantee most people who smoke already have a plug and it’d be no more difficult to just make friends with your neighbor or hit up that friend with the green thumb to sell you some of their surplus which will almost certainly be better than anything from a dispo or off the street and no price hike from excise taxes if they even charge you at all. @@lilscoobynetwork Correct. I'm watching this from the UK, it is definitely fully illegal here and I kinda want it to stay that way for the reasons you stated. Wow, what are the odds. I work at Trulieve and I just started my lunch break and decided to pull up something to watch. I saw the title for this and immediately thought "I wonder if they're gonna mention Trulieve?" I'd already heard a bit about how greedy they were, but this really blows the lid off. Also they pay us $13.50 an hour here in FL and largely rely on tips to supplement that 🙄
If you stay for longer than youre expecting. You can try to form a Union there. I mean if youre planning on leaving, might as well piss them off on the way out
thats why they are sllloowwllyy allowing it to be legalized, so they can be in position to grab the biggest cut of the market before anyone else can even sell it. And they always fight laws allowing home growing.
Trulieve strategically positioned itself as a dominant force in the market, creating formidable barriers for competitors, primarily through substantial initial capital and influential involvement in shaping Florida's cannabis legislation. However, their calculated approach had unintended consequences, as the emergence of alternative cannabinoids, like Delta 8, 9, 10, THC-O, gained popularity. Labs producing these compounds, operating within the legal gray area as they're hemp-derived, not cannabis-derived, are challenging Trulieve's market share. This has prompted Trulieve to lobby for a ban on these analogs in Florida, but the sheer variety of such compounds makes it akin to a complex game of whack-a-mole. Producing these analogs entails a complex and resource-intensive process, demanding significant investment in diverse machinery, expansive growing spaces, and substantial overhead costs. The intricacies involved mean they cannot delegate this labor to external labs, as the entire production process must remain fully integrated. I worked in a delta 8 lab and now as a lab tech for a med cannabis company
This one’s particularly bad because this class of people mostly despises stoners and people who use weed to medicate. They have zero interest in the culture, they have zero interest in anything other than just sucking out every spare scent that people have while destroying legalized weed. I remember right when weed got legalized in Washington, there was a dispensary owner in Vancouver (across the river from Portland) who ADMITTED in the press he despised weed smokers, and thought they were all losers and failures. That was in the very early days of legalized weed in America. 2016. And in Vancouver, serving the entire multimillion person metropolitan area of Portland, only had two dispensaries. That asshat had one of them.
You are 100% correct. Since the 1930's a politician put the stops on Marijuana. Because their drugs were being put on the shelves. Now it becomes legal they want the profits. Power is sinking faster & faster as I text.
We just need to convince people that homegrown is better than corporate. No taxes, no price hikes, and no one is going to sell you some moldy weed that they cleaned with a uv light and stripped all the terpenes away because they’re smoking the same product.
Let me call soccer mom Cindy and compare the linelol. In my little child proof baggy thingy… Cuz you know this white apple “tarts” is 36 percent thc when it’s moldy and really 22 percent. Lmaooo
This is my shocked face. Didn't even need to watch the video to figure that out. Kinda like how politicians won't legalize it until they figure out how they can get their financial interests set up ahead of time.
Anyone remember former Speaker of the House John Boener who I believe was against marijuana usage while in office but became a proud grower/seller once it became legal? No principles. Or maybe he’s just a strict follower of the law. Which means if prostitution ever became federally legal he’d become a pimp overnight.
The industry is full to the brim of old drug warrior politicians and ex-DEA agents cashing in on legal marijuana after they cashed in on imprisoning thousands for it.
Edibles. Much better for you. Look into distillate. I make my own. Edit: Congrats on quitting smoking. Same here; a dozen years without tobacco and three years without herb.
College Humor predicted this years ago. When Colorado legalized weed, they made a skit about how corporate weed undermined weed culture, like the relationship between dealers and users.
whats kind of ironic is that at least here in FL where its medically legal, there's a weird catch 22 between customers, dispensaries, and dealers. If you get a medical card, it'll show up on background checks. So not as many people as you think have med cards. Plus it costs money to see a doctor, get prescribed, and get your card updated every year. Anyhow what this has created is that since a lot of these dispos are trying to expand as fast as possible, they sell a lot of their stuff, especially bud, for dumb cheap. Every holiday you can think of, there's a sale going on. For example, a friend of mine who has a card got like a half ounce of decent shake at trulieve for like $40. That's dumb cheap. So what is happening is that dealers will cop bud from the medical dispos for a bargain and sell it to ppl without a med card for typical street prices lol
So true, I don't smoke anymore but I used to have a dealer that treated me like a VIP because I bought quite a bit from him and he actually liked me. He went out of his way to get me more quality stuff and even gave me freebies sometimes. I got 1g each of 3 different strains for free one Christmas as a thank you. Just a service that you don't get anywhere else and it made me not hate going to pick up from him like I did with other dealers. It clearly worked too, the guy had by far the most customers than any dealer in town.
In New Mexico, before the legislation to approve medical exemption cards reached the Governor's desk, one man had already secured the land and resources to meet a third of the state's demand. Anyone else in his shoes would have been under investigation by police based on purchase history alone, but since he was a former politician, he got to found multiple brands on day one. The approval process took weeks, months, or even years for all other applicants. His companies still control a huge swath of the state production and distribution now that recreational has been normalized statewide and it's hard to buy pot anywhere in the state that he doesn't profit from. Same product, different cartel. The system isn't just corrupt. The system is built for corruption.
Same thing here in colorado between med being legal and rec going legal. It is such a scam and industry workers are treated like the lowest of the low. The worst part of legal weed has been the manipulation of seed genetics which has reduced the amount of THC-9, the substance that gives a person the high feeling, and in it's place has used the artificial process of adding terpenes to give the new weed strains their flavor. I remember discussing the potential of legal weed 40 years ago and how most users said the legalization would ruin it and here we are today.
Bro it’s not just me! I’m not a weed nerd but dang this shit is weak lately. I attributed it to crazy tolerance but like the last few years it just seems like every strain is some gelato cookie fruit shit that looks and tastes good but doesn’t hit very hard. I want my goddamn skywalker og back.
@@drugsdelaney2907 I hear that! But again, part of the problem will be from where the seeds are purchased from because even the legal seeds one can buy are genetically altered with less Delta 9 THC being produced during growth. It’s actually them breeding for higher thc and reducing the other cannabinoids and terpenoids which make the effects less noticeable because thc alone does not take you there it’s an entourage effect. So this is a version of what happened in Canada, but exponentially worse. Canada similarly made the licencing favor big businesses, and then when legalization hit it caused a major economic destabilization to occur. Far from gangs and organized criminals the true face of the so called "black market" for cannabis in Canada was made up of average people growing plantations on hillsides, and in basements all over the country, but the legalization legislation that favored giant corporations, meant that none of the infrastructure that made up a large portion of the countries rural economy was able to translate over. When the giant corporations took over they flooded the wholesale markets with cheap sub par cannabis that drowned out what remained of the black market causing the wholesale value of black market cannabis to plummet lower than the cost of production. Since the black market cannabis trade made up so much of the rural economies especially in BC it caused a chain reaction, where even non cannabis related businesses could no longer stay afloat, and entire communities crumbled and shrank. There's not a lot of economic opportunity in rural canada, and logging, mining, and tourism aren't quite lucrative enough to justify the merchant and service industries in a lot of towns. Without cannabis bringing outside wealth into rural areas. everything from restaurants to hardware stores, to mechanics, to grocery stores started to go out of business, and people began to move away enmass. On top of this the retail cost of cannabis just got worse. People who were used to thinking of $200 ounces as being expensive were now forced to buy from dispensaries that sold that very same cheap pot that destroyed the pound market for triple the wholesale value. Instead of the consumer getting a better deal on their pot the average retail price became higher than the worst of street pricing on the black market. Instead of $200 ounces the average consumer could expect to pay up to $380 an ounce for pot that was on par with what had previously been black market B and C grade pot. Making matters even worse for the consumer; big corporations didn't care about quality and safety in the same way that the consumer driven black market had. Since cannabis growing had been decriminalized for medical growers long before legalization the culture that surrounded cannabis production was one of trying to make the safest and most effective medicine. Using better fertilizers, flushing techniques, and trying to make a product that had the highest benefit at the least detriment to the user, but the big corporations and the legislation that favored them didn't take that attitude into account. Instead the legislation treated cannabis more like tobacco (which allows for little to no safety oversight), and big corporations rushed to pump out the cheapest most chemically infused crops that they could. This didn't sit well with a lot of consumers and nobody really wanted the first generation of sub par poorly grown chem weed which is what lead to the surplus that flooded the pound market as many of these early legal corporations actually lost money, and went out of business. Unfortunately the surplus of crap caused the black market to crumble as I mentioned before, which in turn led to an eventual power vacuum, that a few of the companies who figured out the culture later began to capitalize on. While the quality improved the damage was already done to the preexisting cannabis economy, and the consumer still got shafted, because the retail prices remained primarily the same with a few deals lower spread out here and there. The few black market growers that managed to weather the storm found themselves still unable to maintain a wholesale market, because the wholesale black market value remained too low to cover production costs. This forced them to downsize and begin to rely on small time direct to consumer sales at still lower prices than what they were used to. On the one hand this was great for those specific consumers lucky enough to know a grower, because it allowed them to get higher grade pot at a fraction of retail cost, but it also meant that those farmers are still barely able to make ends meat, and perhaps only slowed the decline into bankruptcy, because just as the lack of the black market economy devastated rural economies much of that decline is still occuring, and the poor people living in the rural communities patronizing what remains of these growers, are slowly becoming poorer and less able to afford to continue. Corporate cannabis marks the slow decline of rural canada. I don't imagine the same is quite so true in the states, because rural cannabis makes up a far smaller percent of most communities economies, but the corporatization of cannabis legislation likely equally represents a threat to public health and safety as the early cannabis corporations in Canada did. They won't care about producing a health conscious product, like tobacco they view it as a way to make as much money as possible with the least concern for the users health. Florida is the perfect proof of this as every other corner store and gas station has its own brand of industrial hemp flower sprayed with synthetically produced legal cannabinoids that were soluded in industrial solvents before application. Your lucky to find a brand that doesn't give off black smoke and residue that resembles the stuff that burns off petroleum based candles when you go to extinguish them. Even with some of the better produced ones the effects of the synthetic cannabinoids themselves can be absolutely terrifying. None of them even remotely resemble regular cannabis, and all of it feels absolutely poisonous.

Notung that the new reform act allows for more favorable tax reliefs on these cannabis companies and even smaller time operations. Given your insight and experience with the Canadian weed market, the U.S weed market is extremely fragmented and all over the place, do you see the U.S repeating Canada's mistake?
Excellent write up of the situation here in Canada. I still don’t buy from any of the government approved offerings. The only good thing that came from legalization, for me, is less harassment from cops. One thing that really stood out to me was being able to just roll a joint in a public adult setting and seeing cops bother people that have a beer in their hand while leaving me alone.
Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.
Can you help with the reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. Very hard to get a reliable source here in Australia. Really need!
Yes, dr.sporesss. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. Think of why prohibition was started? Henry Ford was starting his production line to produce alcohol powered vehicles... John D. Rockefeller did not want that to happen. "Those cars need to run off of oil".
They always talk about the strain, but it doesnt mean much when it is grown poorly, rushed to market, fast dried and crappy. Good soil, limited fertilizer, proper flushing, slow drying and working on perfecting the cure Good 1/8's that I've seen can't even fit in the containers that 1/8's come in The buds still look alive and have smells that are so, so pleasant You open up a jar and someone comes from 2 blocks away and says, "Damn!"
That’s how it should be, along with the flower being hand trimmed than machine. Currently being involved with a MSO who just opened up a facility where I’m at and I’ve been harping on them to avoid machine trimming. Yeah there are machines out there that can do 15lbs in 20 minutes but you lose the character of the bud and the end product doesn’t look right.
I like a full wet trim dried on racks then cured for 3 to 6 weeks depending on strain. It has never done me wrong. Good genetics is a must as well. Also if I machine trimmed I would miss all the awesome finger hash. At least the laws are loosing a little and we don't have to feel like criminals for growing a plant. I'm in Maryland and they are just trying to figure it all out still but it already feels better. Keep it green everyone.
I stopped vaping after the meaning of "resin" shifted from "tar" to "any plant material" and when it became more broad, they added in different additives that irritate my throat. There's lots of different euphemisms for the different terpentenes like "live resin!", "CO2 oil", and the consumer has little to base their decision on. I asked the guy at the dispensary and he said the same thing.

I seen this happen in my state in Michigan when it got legalized, it was passed with the idea that people who “have been done wronged” by the law over weed would have first opportunities for business and job, and that’s not what we saw, we saw corporations get licenses before any start up business, now our cities are over run with corporate cannabis shops, the weed they are selling is 2+ years old due to statewide tester shortages, so you get dry dusty product that doesn’t taste good and is genuinely not as good as homegrown at the moment, makes it hard for anyone to compete, and compete legally, since now you hear about smaller shops buying from farmers then selling without going through state processing since it takes 2 years to be legally processed.

I'm watching this from the UK, it is definitely fully illegal here and I kinda want it to stay that way for the reasons you stated.
Even the "mass grown" stuff that's coming from some major weed growing operation (i.e. stuff that various dealers across all parts of town/a few towns seem to all have in stock at almost any time) is actually really quite decent*, though yeah I ultimately will go for an "experienced neighbour" bit given the choice.

@@amberbleu1598 legal weed is being ruined by people who buy legal weed sybm
We used to call them cartels.
The only thing a person can do is find someone with starts/strains that didnt come from today's 'legal' sources and keep it going. gl!
It’s actually them breeding for higher thc and reducing the other cannabinoids and terpenoids which make the effects less noticeable because thc alone does not take you there it’s an entourage effect. Go smoke that 25% strain with no cbd an 1% terps and then try that 17% strain with 2%cbd and 3% terps and I’m willing to bet that the latter leaves you more smacked than the former.
@@drugsdelaney2907most likely due to the nutrients they use. Either they are using hormones to make the plants grow big to get the most yield a plant or they are using synthetic nutrients. Another way could be how the bud is cured and dried.
THCa decarbs into d9 - with flower d9 content doesn’t really matter, d9-THCa (commonly referred to as “THCa”) is the main psychoactive component of flower. Also black market dealers artificially add terps too….

Well said. Given how fragmented the U.S weed mrkt is, do u see the market headed thus way. Granted the south seems to have a monopoly issue but the northern states are variable.

It seemed as though some influences were too eager to legalize weed. This story helped me to understand why. I should have known.
Commercial grade weed has ruined the market.
