You make preparing for gigs, especially fill in gigs, a thousand times easier. There's a couple of guys doing this and you're right there with the ver best. Clean easy to read video, accurate, no BS, just right into the work. I've probably prepped 20 songs using your content.
0:46 It's also OK to just skip playing the open-string notes throughout the verses, even though Duff plays it on the album the way you're playing it. Somehow, it sounds better that sparser way when playing live with people. The Steven Adler band bassist skips those open-string notes.
It's actually way too busy in general. If I were playing this at a wedding or whatever I would cut out at least half the licks. It's weird it works so well in the original!
Hey I love your videos! I started playing bass a few months ago, and your videos make me want to practice every day :) Maybe you could next do Whenever I May Roam, Metallica?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: really appreciate the research notes that you include. edit: your Jellynote link appears to be broken, or the content is no longer accessible.
Thank you! I’m glad you appreciate the notes. I want to give the reasoning for why something might be tabbed a certain way, because I know often the common way to play it might not be what’s actually played. It also happens that the studio version is never really played the same live. I’ll also look into what happened with the link. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention! If I don’t know something is wrong, I can’t do anything to fix it :)
I love Duff's bass style, however...I have learned to play Duff's riffs without a pick...but rather the Flamenco style of Les Claypool when playing parts with picks. For some odd reason...I'm sloppy with picks. I don't know why that is. I do much better with strumming Flamenco style. Great video and Duff's bass lines are so much fun to play!
Excellent (and with a smile)!! How do you like your Squire Jazz? I have a Squire Mustang reissue (2004) and extremely happy with it.Thanks for posting, bro.
@@almano69 you can also put one finger on the first fret and then tune to the normal tuning. so like put your finger on the first fret of the e-string but tune to E normally. it works for as many steps down as you want lol
Bro what is up with these guitarists doing these odd smiles that look so unnatural? Like I can understand smiling when playing, but I’ve seen so many females doing it, and now seeing this guy do it. It’s like they are playing, they are focused, then they remember they are on camera so they show a super forced smile. It’s like someone is yelling “say cheese!” Every 5 seconds. It’s just odd to me lol it looks like a robot smiling.
It’s so refreshing to see the whole guy, not just the bass guitar.
What 💀💀
