This young man is so humble. It’s a pleasure to watch him work in such a professional manner, as he is definitely the exception to the rule these days.
Great Job Caden, always a delight to see someone who takes pride in their work, and has attention to detail. Dave, he needs to stay at your shop for a long long time.
Diggin' Cadens attention to detail, marking all bolts after torquing to specs.... this shows a good mechanic. Wont be surprised if this young man is help running Dave's shop some day.
I noticed that others appreciated the mellow background music. Thanks for that. Of course the young man calmly and quietly doing his work was also nice
Man. I fully deleted my '15 GMC Denali 3500 Dually when she was brand spankin' new with less than 300 miles on the odometer. I had completely forgotten how much crap I had taken off of her Duramax till I watched this video. I need to do the CP3 upgrade on my truck. It would be a breeze compared to this since most of this stuff doesn't exist on my truck anymore.
Ok I'm not ashamed to say it but I was stoned when I first heard this. Holy hell! I'm not into talking in an ASMR video but with that background tone and then a random voice appears and it sends me somewhere! The greatest ASMR video EVER!
To see these young men do this work is impressive. Him and Alejandro Nice work . Ur an A tech u pulled that gmc apart with skills . Remember to stay cool and calm. Thanks for the video.
What an engine packaging nightmare! You have to admire the engineer(s) who designed this engine system and got it all in the allowed space (engine compartment), but when it comes time to make a repair ... wow! "Fleece" engine components! I'd have to think about changing the name to inspire customer confidence if I was them.
@@Torqu3d A play on words. "Fleece" is slang for : to deceive someone. I was kidding, it's an old term though that you youngsters may not be familiar with.
I find it quite ironic that the manufacturer of the replacement system is called Fleece. That's what it feels like sometimes when your vehicle is getting these repairs or upgrades. Then you watch the video and understand why. One clamp missed one bolt missed, and you're pulling that maze apart again on your dime. Great video and great work young man.
For anyone thinking about a cp3 swap. I would definitely recommend getting the tuned for the cp3. The cp4 puts out higher pressure and even doing a no tune swap you always have the chance of it running like crap, later requiring calibrations to run good.
Exactly like me at the ford dealership I was working at send it to the wash bay to clean the engine top and bottom the interior also sometimes some customers didn’t like the cost of it but I always answer before you go to the doctor to check your bottom you’ll take a shower 🚿 😅😊
@19:16 - I have the same FASS 150 lift pump I installed on my truck. I can tell you for a fact that by around 100k miles, those fuel lines will leak. If you are thinking about this upgrade, do yourself a favor, and ditch those hoses and spend the extra money on making some real braided steel lines and -AN fittings instead. That's one of the things I plan on doing this spring when I do the CP3 conversion. Just gotta make it through the winter when I do need to truck to get around instead of the Camaro, Chevelle, or one of the motorcycles.
Whoever invented vacuum sealing parts should be jailed! I'm home sick with COVID catching up on your videos. You guys are the new "Price is Right" (the older folks will get that reference). Hello from Atlantic Canada, thanks for the great content!!!
This kinda soft background music is fine. Its annoying some channels can't figure out how to temper the volume down and not make it obnoxiously loud for no reason whatsoever! Makes watching videos difficult when music is so loud you can't even hear whats going on. I'd much rather hear the shop sounds, tools doing their work, maybe not full bore 1\2" air impact gun wide open taking 16 lug nuts off but you know what I mean. Thanks for this video, he's awesome, especially for his age. I'm jealous, I wish I had this kind of experience at that age, I'd be rolling in dough by my age (47). Good thing this isn't getting the disaster pump Bosch CP4!👍🏻👌🏻💯🛠️🔩🔧🦺🛢️💨 ✊🏻🇺🇲🦅🇺🇲✊🏻
Buy a top side creaper that thing change my life 😂 i use it for everything bought two and put it each side of classe 8 trucks over the bumper while working into engines
Good Lord son I tip my hat once again to you and your qualities. Beyond amazing what y'all have to do in order to fix/work on these jigsaw puzzles. It's like watching a technician work on plumbing a Saturn 5 rocket and not a pickup! I am blown away by how complicated 😕 these modern power trains are and reminds me of many years asking engineers if they were serious 😳? Bravo young man Bravo 👏
I made a simple mod to get the fan and shroud easly - I cut the shroud horizontally in the middle, made a simple quick connect, now I just need to take the top half and can take the fan easly and most of the time, I don't need to take the bottom half out at all.
Hey Dave what are your thoughts on the new Banks oil pan for the Duramax? And while your pondering that how about the transmission pan he offers as well.
@TamagoHead I never heard of Banks until maybe couple of years ago watching others on RUclips install his stuff and they would rave about it. So I checked out his content and website and man the guy is a pure genius.
Great Job on everything, impressive to remember where/how it all goes back together. Are there protective covers for those low hanging filter? And, Had to cringe on using the Adjustable Wrench to tighten that last fitting...I know, I know but you know what I mean.
I think I have watched most of Dave's Auto Center Video's and I am or never was a mechanic but I love watching all the conquests the mechanics go through on each job. One thing that I keep wondering, is it safe to power wash your engine? It seems you guys have no problem doing it before most jobs. I have a new Denali Ultimate with the 6.2L engine. Is it safe to power wash the entire engine? Thanks and thanks for the great videos!

Is there a modification to make a modern diesel truck like a F-350 able to idle long periods? I know you can increase rpm but what do you do for egr contamination at idle?
The problem is, those who design them seldom, if ever, have to work on them. I used to roundly curse the engineers responsible for designing the Komatsu cranes I had to work on.
Best vid yet. No loud music no talking just work.
Agree, the music was horrendous

I was wondering the same thing. I’d never do it. It might not be high-psi water though, but the air dry helps a bit too.
Once H2O penetrates electrical connections, most likely too late for blow drying.
