We bought a vinca plant when we first came to Australia twelve years ago . A neighbour also gave me some seedlings . They are wonderful plants . They have survived drought several times and also torrential rain which last year killed several of our plants and trees. Just when you think they have died out they pop up all over the place and seedlings soon grow into lovely plants full of flowers and come up in crossed colours . I think this is the most underestimated plant ever and would recommend it to anyone Eileen
Am quite familiar with the'noble virtues of the lowly Periwinkle'. Am quite proud of it because it grows abundantly in Jamaica, an island in the West Indies. Imagine, from lowly roadside plant to treatment of Leukaemia and Lymphatic cancer. Viva Periwinkle!!!. 🌴

Hi there, As mentioned in this video that this plant has some very strong chemicals that are used to prepare Cancer medications, it is recommended to use or try any part of this plant with great caution. I have not tried any of the healing properties on myself therefore, I cannot suggest any. But many people have claimed that drinking the tea of its flowers or leaves helped in curing Diabetes, High cholesterol etc.
Hi there, I have never experimented with the medicinal properties of this plant. As it has got strong anticancerous chemicals, I would suggest to check with your doctors before consuming.
If your periwinkle plant is oozing sticky substances, it's possible that it might be experiencing an infestation of pests like aphids or scale insects. These insects feed on the sap of plants, excreting a sugary substance called honeydew, which appears as a sticky residue on the plant leaves and stems. To confirm the issue, inspect your periwinkle plant closely, especially on the underside of the leaves and along the stems, for any signs of tiny insects like aphids (small, pear-shaped insects) or scale insects (small, shell-like insects). They can vary in colour and size.
