Hello, your videos are very interesting, I have a question I am thinking of making a snowboard, my concern is how to outline the core, the rail system with a router works well, I want to leave the ends at 2 mm and 6.5 mm the center, I could have a core professional with this system. thank you
How do you test them with you being based in London? It’s something I’d like to do from the UK but I wasn’t sure if you’d need snow/ ski resort nearby to test them.
Interesting, but skipped the design process and the bit about how the metal edges are fixed to the ptex base prior to epoxying. Also no base waxing seems to have been done at the end!
Hey, glad you liked the video. All of James' skis are waxed before they go out of course, but we wanted to focus on the general construction of the skis in this video. There are also a couple more finishing steps that were not shown (sealing the sidewalls to prevent moisture from getting in being one). Thanks for the comment, and hope you enjoy the rest of our videos too!
Great video. I would have loved it if it had been longer to give a little more time to the explanation. And what a shame that his explanation needed to compete with annoying call centre music!
Glad you like the video John! Thanks for your feedback we will take that on board. If you had further questions about the process then please head to www.nixsnowsports.com/
Ok nice job,but he is making huge mistake,no protection side walls.Core is naked and that will reduce the ski durability, except if you are gonna buy every winter new pair of skis...
Very nice video! Im just wondering what material you use as topsheet.
Nice to see a craftsman at work! Love to take them for a test sometime.
Hello. I have a very good pair of Lacroix... no more edge and sole... is it possible to change edges and sole ??? Like we did with car tires... thanks
Could the flax layer go under the carbon fiber? I think it would be slick to keep the carbon as the top layer
Does the ski have a springback in the rocker when removed from the press, or does it remain the same shape?
Interesting video, he seems like a great guy too.
So cool man amazing job keep up

Wow this was so interesting to watch! Thanks for sharing guys.
From the Halsbury Ski team
Wow! Great video guys....I had no idea!
Super video. Proof to me also that aside from shape and camber, and carbon fiber, skis are made the same as 30 years ago.

Not sure if you have closed down - but your website is not working . Masses of errors, blocked content, etc.

And now I’m good to go.
Cool skis, neat video, horrible background music
Damn that music is annoying...

You can go to the Stodoys plans website if you would like to do it yourself.
