Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments. I've just posted a video to answer all your questions about those blending brushes for stenciling that I talked about in this video. :-) ruclips.net/video/5qvM9AoJ-kM/видео.html
Mrs Cog I just wanted to say a couple of things... first, thank you for sharing your gift with us ALL! And what a gift it is! Second, I’m starting out as a Junk Journal maker/ obsessed fan and I was wondering how long it takes you to make one of your journals? Like this one or the Shakespeare ones, I have made four for practice and given them as gifts as I’m a bit nervous about selling just yet. Ps. When someone asks what a Junk Journal is I tell them to watch one of your videos as I think they are the perfect example of the work, time and love that goes into making one of them. Again, TFS!
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my password. I would love any tricks you can offer me.
@Keanu Dawson thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Absolutely gorgeous. What fabulous photography journals. I love playing with the camera. The fabric you used for the cover. The lil girl taking the photo of her doll is a fabulous cover choice. The remnence is my favorite color.
Lol. Oops! I know I already commented somewhere about this.... but here I am again. I always find myself clicking on this vid over and over by accident. (Keeps ending up in my feed) BUUUUT I love it... so, here we go again!
Absolutely stunning! So inspiring! Thank you for your ideas. I am just beginning my journey through my children's photos... trying to collect them in a way they will want to look at them as a keepsake. Your work is lovely! Thanks again! Blessings! :)
These books are quite lovely, your workis so concise and beautiful, I get so inspired watching your flip throughs. Thanks for sharing these fantastic books with us! 💜
just catching up on videos - these are beautiful, I love the photos, snapshots in time. The dark sari silk is such a beautiful colour, so rich. And I really like the black and white photos with the beach blues :)
I assume that you have a typewriter and you are typing your quotes on the pages. I love the way they look. The other thing I wanted to ask about is what type of paper you’re using before you tee dye and coffee stain it. I like the crispiness that you get and there seems to be an opportunity to keep the book not so overwhelmingly bulging. I am just loving your journals.
Your work is so incredibly neat and well thought out and lovely. Your video on tea stained papers was the first Journaling video I watched. It was the first spark the lite my fiery love of journaling. Thank you or continuing to add fuel to the fire.
Oh darn, i so wanted one of these. My father was a photographer by trade. His mother was also a good photographer, it was a hobby for her. She had her own dark room at one point. I unfortunately did not inherit that gene. Your journals are so beautiful. You find the best “stuff”.
So lovely to see you this morning - I understand how busy life can be - just know you are missed. Your journals somehow capture everything you never miss a beat. This is such a treat to share your video.

Beautiful collection !!! I love this journals !!! I have a little collection on vintage cameras. Thank you for always sharing with us your gorgeous creations!!!📷💕🤗
Amelia is surely dancing in a turquoise sea😉👍😘❣️😍 A wonderful Luxembourgish photographer was Edward Steichen-the Family Of Man is. Wonderful exhibit here in our Clervaux Castle One more art history lesson that I’m so ever grateful for. Thank you, Liz!!
I just finished my first Golden Book journal and I am so proud of myself. I only put 3 signatures in it but by the time I finished, the book will not close without the ties! I really love making journals and I love your journals. Thanks for sharing your awesome talent with us. Also as an FYI on those worlds greatest brushes, you can purchase makeup brushes just like them on Amazon at a lower price and they work amazingly.
These are all so beautiful but I LOVE the advance reserve journal. Your attention to detail always amazes and inspires me! Although I am just about to finish creating my very first junk journal, I am still saving up to, one day, be able to purchase or preorder one of your fabulous books 🌹x
BEAUTIFUL! But could you please share The name brand of the “fabulous” brushes you were raving about for stenciling, and where we can find them, please?
Oh my stars how gorgeous! Just adore your designs and finally bought that machine of yours too! Love it! Can you help me though I have sewn much material in past I'm new to paper sewing and am curious as to what tension setting I should be using? Even got my husband to flip the card over as you have and wow it's perfect! Thanks Liz for your professional advice 🎯💌👏
Thank you Jess! Congrats on the new machine and a set up that you like. While everyone has their own preferences for sewing paper, this is what I do. I start by setting the tension just over "0" and zig zag stitch onto index cards (not too thin, not too thick - goldilocks) to test, increase it up to less than "1" and see what your machine thinks. Usually I end up stitching most paper, as well as cotton onto paper, at 1/2. That is the tension set half way to "1". If you get a tangled mess on the bottom of your paper, back off the tension to just above "0" again and start the negotiating process over again with your sewing machine lol. You'll find it's sweet spot soon enough. I did a video about sewing paper a while back. That link is here. Enjoy your new set up! ruclips.net/video/OrmhbaoLlR4/видео.html
I absolutely love these journals!! I have watched many videos but you have inspired me to a whole new level. The simplicity of the pages with just written text is beautiful. I do however if you don’t mind me asking how to do get word to print on the bottom of the page or when you fold it to be at the bottom?
Looking at Rockwell at 19:18...It seems he is drawing/ sketching using a projector that is allowing him to sketch a rough placement of his subject on a canvas. Very interesting!... I always loved his work!!
My granddaughter is going through for photography and I would love to make some thing that look like your journal am not to sure of the measurements I always seem that I can't put many photos without my book looking to bulging,I love your quote do you look them up I love the type look but I don't have a typewriter,I a crafter want a be but have no printer or major items but I am determined I dream to be able to create some things that might look like yours thank you for your inspiration
Sorry if someone has asked this...but what program do you use to print the text? So it is able to lay out like that? I'm in the process (only in my mind at the moment) of trying to create a nurse journal...strictly nurse/patient stories. I wouldn't mind using famous healthcare people's quotes (Nightingale, Breckenridge, Barton, etc) Thanks in advance.
No because I mostly hold them around the brush part at the top. I've just posted a video answering all the blending/stenciling questions. :-) ruclips.net/video/5qvM9AoJ-kM/видео.html
Be-YOU-tiful!!! Wow!!!! You are so beyond gifted and talented! I am new to your channel and new to even looking at these journals. I am curious what are they covered in? The material is beautiful but different than cotton.... So I am so curious now what it is made of? Anyone willing to settle my curiosity? LOL
Thank you so much. The materials I use most often to cover journals are upholstery fabrics or heavy weaves similar to tapestry. There are large rolls of them in the back of Joann Fabrics and at Hobby Lobby. Often one can find small portions in a remnants bin at these stores. :-)
@@MrsCog OMG YES!!!! That's where I have seen this kind of fabric before!!! LOL I knew it looked so familiar to me but couldn't place where I had seen it before!!! Thank you. That was one of those things that you know you know the answer but can't figure it out and it drives you nuts until someone jars your memory. So thanks again!!! Amazing work!!! I love your channel and your channel name too!!!! Your are so talented!!! I look forward to binge watching you this weekend, my kid's all are home with the influenza virus that is going around out here in Texas and I am the only one in my house not sick! So I am quarantining myself away from them as much as possible on my computer watching your videos armed with a can of Lysol. LOL
Thanks so much Roseanna. I collect images from many sources and like most in these journals, I offer them as digital downloads in my Etsy shop. :-) www.etsy.com/shop/MrsCogsCrafts
I really like your work! These journals are charming. The quotes add so much. I've always been afraid to include quotes in my artwork, for fear of infringing on copyright.( Maybe it's okay to use short quotes; I dont know.) Am hoping you can shed some light on this for me, please.
Hello. Your journals are beautiful. What type of paper do you use for you regular pages? Is it just regular paper that you have coffee or tea strained? Thank you, Jennifer
Thank you Jennifer! I use regular printer paper and tea dye it. The first few minutes of my video here shows the cover printing of packages for many of the types of paper I tea dye to use in my journals. :-) ruclips.net/video/3kDRgZsAmy4/видео.html
I like your journals. They leave room to actually journal! So many of the others I see are beautiful, but I get the feeling the point was in the making, not so much room for actual journaling.

My hubby Cog is the rocket scientist of finding the best price for all things crafty. :-) amzn.to/2tejxlx

I always love the way you include quotes in almost every page. How did you type the pages? Did you type the quotes in a traditional typewriter before you bind them into a signature? They are all beautiful
Thank you Leila. I print the quotes onto regular printer paper with a laser printer (Laser uses toner that doesn't run when wet like ink jet print.) before tea dyeing the paper. :-)
