Kawai celebrates 60 years in North America with the release of two stunning, limited-edition acoustic pianos - the GX2 grand and K-500 upright. Only 60 of each model will be available, and they will feature rare hand-painted accents using the ancient Japanese lacquering method called "Urushi." This technique, dating back to 16th century Japan, involves applying multiple layers of the treasured sap from the Urushi tree, which is then tinted and hand-lacquered onto the piano.
Using a process called "Maki-e," the Kawai logo and 60th-anniversary logo are then created by sprinkling fine gold flakes onto the wet lacquer.
The GX2 grand features lacquered fallboard, music desk, and lid prop, while the K-500 upright boasts a lacquered fallboard and two cabinet pillars. These pianos will be available in dealer showrooms starting in January 2023 and are sure to be highly sought-after pieces.

Is it possible for the gx-1 to sound like this? My gx-1 isn’t even close to this level even after fresh tuning.
What is the price of this gx2?
Though a Fazioli owner and devoted fan i am impressed with the beauty of the video and the soundtrack.
I am sure with a bit more budget and production time it would be even more impressing.
Still most people choose that also impressive but in a lot more different way Rhianna mid-game show.

Yes certainly for the price.. Kawai is quite good..still not quite up there Yamaha too..
European pianos handcrafted still rule and in them some better than the other...
@@benedictdsilva3954if u actually knew anything about pianos, you would know that just because a piano is handcrafted in europe does not mean it is of superior quality. there is good reason why all international piano competitions nowadays have a Steinway D, Yamaha CFX, Fazioli 278, and Shigeru Kawai SK-EX. Japan is the only non-western country to have its pianos represented at the forefront of classical music and it’s because they know how to build good pianos.
Good tone...bass especially... treble a bit thin..
