I had not heard of Spilman, but I do like this period of American music. Nicely played. You give it a kind of neo-Baroque texture.

Thank so much, Steven. I had this version from the Forde collection, but most of the versions I found were with this melody. Thanks for the neo-Baroque comment, if wasn't aiming for something like that, but I certainly don't mind when you hear that in the arrangement.

Tellement bien joué de la guitare. La mélodie est aérienne. C'est vraiment très beau. Bravo l'ami Bert

Beautiful Bert! Is it my imagination that I hear "Away in the Manger?" Enjoyed listening to this, thanks!

Thanks, Nate. I would have to listen to the two versions I made of 'Away...', it could well be that there are similarities. I didn't notice it, but that doesn't say much.

    Dear Bert!
Very beautiful! It's originally a Scottish tune (?) but sounds much more interesting when you've arranged it.
    Have a nice weekend,
    Marianne

Dear Marianne, It's at least a Scottish poem. As far as I can tell, the other version I uploaded is the Scottish tune and this is an American one. I could very well be wrong about which is which. I'm glad that you think I make it more interesting. So good to hear.
A great weekend to you too,
      Bert
