WSL was the longest and one of the most talented students of Yip Man. He was with Yip Man for 25 years, afterwards heratating his school. This is why it's obvious why Wong Shun Leung style of Ving Tsun is the most effective and most real. 25 years of Yip Man lessons, you will be tought everything.
Whilst WSL was excellent in his own right, the most effective style of Wing Chun can be learned from Ng Chun Hong. This is because not only does he benefit from the two lineages brought to WSL (Chan Wah Shun and Leung Bik through Ip Man) but also Ng Chun Hong, has the advantage of having learnt from Lok Yiu (Ip Man student) and Jiu Wan (taught by Chan Wah's son).

Well that depends on how well you know Ng. I can tell you that he worked for almost a decade undercover with thr HK police force. His skills are tried and tested on many members of the triads :) My teacher trained under WSL for a little while and for a lengthy period under Nino Bernado, an accomplished student of WSL (now residing in Spain I believe). However his skills vastly improved after training with Ng. So much so that other students of Nino literally witnessed these improved skills, they moved to HK to train under Ng.
Yes it always depends on how good you can learn from a specific person... anyway it sounds very interesting. Are there any videos or more information concerning Ng?
to those dislike..maybe you only notice WSL hand movement but not the foot movement specially the heals....sucker......that is one of the best chum kiu you've ever seen and more traditional..
i follow wing chun Wong Shun Leung style in holland and i can tell u its soo effective you can easy win a fight with this ( when you know how to do this)

1000Demons; thats correct, one hand comes down on the top of the fist, while the other slaps hard on the elbow, very brutal deffence against a straight punch.
Indeed, this is one of the only WC demos which shows the right energy. In fact, it is very reminiscent of Chen style TaiJi, and the use of the internal power (fajin) Search on Chen Xiaowang -fajin to see a similar demo of that. Very nice thanks for posting
Awesome... i just started ving tsun half of a year ago... i train it at a guy who used to learn a lot from wong sun leung its awesome to watch such a genius doing the forms. I also think you cant learn it without a teacher
Wing Chun is very effective for self defense if you understand it and can apply it in reality, MMA stands for mixed Martial Arts which is the mentality of mixing different techniqes that work for you to put into your toolbox as a fighter or Martial Artist. Also dont forget that taking someone down to ground and pound or submission isnt always the best thing to do if theres a group fight, e.g one of my BJJ instructors got hes head kicked in when he took a guy down outside a bar he got rushed !
Do u even know who this man is? Wong Shun Leung, a good friend of bruce, he even trained bruce and bruce admitted wong was better then him at fighting. Wong shun leung has won over 100 bareknuckle streetfights in hong kong, read wikipedia
He trained Bruce because Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco making Bruce american. When his family returned to Hong Kong, Bruce wanted to learn kung fu to beat up bullies. Yip Man told him this is not the way of kung fu, come again later. So Bruce did a few years later, and although picked fights in alley ways a lot because he was cocky, Yip man agreed to train him. HOWEVER Bruce was technically American and this is in a time where the Chinese arts were kept secret and safe from westerners so Yip man technically wasnt allowed to teach him, but Wong Shun Leung could show a friend what he has learned. Yip man taught Wong shun leung who in turn taught Bruce lee, despite them all being in the same room together. Thats also half the reason Bruce lee came back to america and made movies about his martial arts. He was trying to break the law that only Chinese can learn Chinese boxing. And it worked.
lol he was not better than Bruce he just was older than him and he trained him wing chun, but when Bruce Lee wass older they had sparr and Bruce Lee won in spar behind close doors , their wifes was out of the room, Wong didnt like Bruce Lee style cause he used boxing movement and foot work, Wong didn't catch him .
@@moshajohnson6316 I don't mean to be disrespectful since I don't know you but Wong Sheung Long actually came from western boxing and only after meeting Yip Man switched to wing chun. He was known to win all the fight with chinese kung fu masters using western boxing and it went on like that until he sparred with Yip Man. He really had a "no bullshit" approach to martial arts and a pure passion for them with no boundaries. I know this because I studied with a student of him. Of course I can't be sure 100% but studying deeply his teaching and comparing them with boxing make the saying very convincing. Best regards

No. Although there are a couple stories, about how Wing Chun came about the martial art... It wasn't one person who developed it. It was a tradition in the Shaolin temples. Taught to Wing Chun by Ng Mui. And the stories (many of them) say she adapted it. But who knows. But let me just add, an instructor is crucial. This art has evolved over hundreds of years, a person cannot learn without a teacher. my opinion.

I was wondering for the longest time what those were(at least, I think that's the point in the form where he's hitting himself in the arm). I used to think "Why deduct from your own power when using tan sau to the throat?" But no, arm breaks. It makes more sense now, if we're talking about the same part of the form, so thank you.

I think if you have trained for a while in wing chun you can update your skills to a certain degree with out a teacher...one thing I have noticed with some people who call them selves a sifu, is to challenge some one in chi sau to try and check thier postition. they can be part right but anyone can still improve in speed and pop some one upside the head, that being said it would be hard to train in wing chun if you never had a sifu or kung fu elder brother or sister..

I agree with most of your comments.You can't learn WC without an experience teacher who had studied for many years to master the skills.I have been studying karate for more than 10 years and now trying to learn WC on RUclips is difficult without proper guidance.

brothers, I think one may memorize 100's of fanastic and lovely forms, and have no kung fu at all and still another may have no forms, but the formless form and defeat one after another. I believe all comes from the mind and that the important skills can not be taught, but must come wordlessly from the mind. And thus learning from 1000 top masters would be useless without such mind skills... oh and thanks for sharing this vid.. I enjoy seeing the various ways of kung fu learners! good journey!

Yes you are right, there are many subtle differences, which together add up to make a considerable difference. The WSL system is much more practical and efficient. From my experience, the WSL method is vastly more effective than others.
Congratulations! I've been searching for a Chum Kiu video that had the right energy and form, this is the 10th vid i've seen and i was ready to give up when i clicked this. Just my luck the video is distorted. We need more vids of him. my sifu taught me to kick better than that but i like the energy overall

1st of all you haters and lovers Wong was the only one that fully trained with and by Yip man. 2ndyou can't compare any towards him he was undefeated untill he passed away. 3rd all the socalled aswhipe masters Like Leung ting William chun Garry lam sergio whatever you call yourself they never trained as hard as Wong and never trained Daily Wong is and was the only one if you look at any class picture of Yip man Wong is always on his right side that tells you enough.
