Hello yarn goblins! 👻 Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe because it helps out my channel so much!! 🥰 Let me know your favorite spooky knit designers below, I need some new patterns to check out!
You didn't do anything wrong! Stockinette (knit on one side of the fabric, purl on the other) naturally curls because the knit side of each stitch is wider than the purl side. Blocking might help, but in future projects a narrow border of garter or moss stitch on the edges might help discourage curling. It's looking great so far though, curling or not. It's cool that you've started knitting!
This makes me feel so much better!! I really appreciate the advice! I need to look into how to make it not curl with those stitches! 🥺 I miiight frog it and try again with those suggestions haha! 😅
Debbie Stoller's books are cool, also the book DomiKNITrix was fun. Just go for the projects you want to make, that's how we learn! It might help to look for Mochimochi, those are knit toys while amigurumi are crocheted toys 😉💜💚💜
I find Tin Can Knits are excellent for beginner knitters. They have some free patterns that are really nice and have videos and written tutorials for techniques.
It looks great but I"m fairly certain even blocking it won't straighten it out...we've all been there. Next time i suggest using a ribbing pattern like K2P2! It won't curl but make it wider than you think you need to because the "ribs" scrunch together!
I was drawn to colorwork knitting too when I first started! I highly recommend you learn about yarn dominance, which is how you carry your colors when you knit colorwork, and you can also learn about ladderback method right now and save yourself a lot of pain ( I only learned it this year after knitting colorwork for years, I wish somebody had told me sooner!) I want to knit everything you showed off ahah but especially the little bat socks.
I will absolutely look into that! Tysm for the advice! I've been watching as much knitting videos as I can to try and learn! I am soo in love with those bat socks haha! I need them in so many colors!
@verypinkkints while isn’t an alt/goth channel, she has great videos/tutorials on techniques, terms, and all things knit. I’ve always used her videos when I have questions on terms.

@@nessasknotsfor flat projects like this, it’s better to avoid stockinette altogether even though it does look really nice.

I don't consider myself an influencer - just a person having fun on the internet as a little side hobby 🥰
