The fact that Insym made his face really similar to the face of killer for the thumbnail makes me feel even more confident that he has a great sense of humour

I did not realize that omg 😂
An interesting fact that you might not know:
As far as I remember, the narrator appears at moments when a character can die (if I'm not mistaken, he appears just before a choice or series of actions that can lead to the death of a character. Like in the prologue, when a young couple died, he appeared in mirror). He appears somewhere in the frame, but in such a way that it is difficult to notice him
P.s - waiting for the next episode. Hope it will be long and cool
This is really interesting and helpful, thanks for sharing! 🙂
Ooo, this is an interesting information!
I gotta rewatch it all again to spot the Curator :D
I love how they all have special abilities like, "pick locks," "fix breakers," and Erin's is literally "breathe."
You may have figured this out by now Insym, but the "dark picture" clues have really subtle hints. The scenes playing out are consequences of player choices, depending on the COLOR of the picture's FRAME. Any photos you find that have frames that are WHITE in color= potentially dangerous premonition (proceed with caution for survival) but photos with frames that are BLACK in color= death premonition (result in character death.) Hope this helps!
How is that any different? Isn't that just the same thing?
@@john_titor1 i think its like warning and consequence, some are a warning of a potential danger, while others are the outcome or consequence of a choice. for example one could be showing you walking away from a lever which warns you not to pull it but you dont know why. but another scene could show you a death, like you falling into that pit and then you piece together the background to know in game "oh im at this wall with this door and lever i shouldnt pull it". Another thing if it follows the same logic as until dawn, it could show you how to save a person, the vision might show you maybe pressing a button that locks the door on the killer so he cant get to your friend you are watching on a camera or something. so, its the diference of "this colour is a warning, this colour is a death warning, and this colour is protection"
When this game was announced my best friend was so excited to see how it'll play. He passed away this year. Seeing you upload a whole gameplay of it was bittersweet for me. Anyways, still looking forward to seeing you play :)
Sorry for your loss 💔
Hoping your friend has access to RUclips from up there, so he can watch Insym play too!
HH Holmes's "murder castle" was reported to have secret torture chambers, trap doors, gas chambers, and a basement crematorium; none of these claims are true. The hotel was moderately sized and largely unremarkable. It did have secret rooms, but these were to store furniture that Holmes had bought on credit and had no intention of returning. In fact, none of Holmes's victims were strangers, most seem to have been his mistresses, and although he did have a history of selling cadavers to medical schools, it's believed these were acquired through grave robbing.
One of Holmes's more interesting murders was the murder of a Mr. Pitezel, his close friend. There was a scheme in which Pitezel would fake his own death for the insurance money, but instead of finding a cadaver to use as Pitezel's body, Holmes simply murdered him instead.
Holmes did request to be interred in cement, but he was concerned about grave robbers.
I think the "stab" cutscene does hint at which option you should go for. If you look closely at what the man is stabbing Erin with, it is the sharp point at the bottom of her mic, and you can see signs of a struggle (thus her eye bleeding.) In that scenario, it is very much an attention-to-detail moment. Had you chosen to attack the man, no doubt she would have been killed because the scene you saw earlier depicted it. However, it seems like whoever is running the show here likes to toy with their victims a bit--scare them and get them to play their game. If you don't 'play along,' you don't get to live. Choosing to trust whoever was in the room showed that you were willingly playing along and blindly trusting this person regardless of what we knew about him.
That's just my two scents though and I could be vastly off. Loved the video though!
The random face glitches and the overly white and pristine teeth (specially for that time in the intro) makes this so uncanny. Yeah, indeed a creepy game. lol
the eyes also often dont look where the character is supposed to be looking and look as dead as a fishes... sometimes realism is.. off the mark lol
2:21:17 I notice Insym often says goddamn door, and every single time my mind immediately goes: "NO! It's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationalityyyy"
Thank you for playing it, it's so nice to discover it with you!
I don't know if I'm right, but I'm pretty sure "The Curator" is a grim reaper in this world. He appears when a character can die, is somewhere there, somewhere in the frame. It was this way in Man of Medan, it is this way here. Says things like "Death is natural, it comes eventually to everyone.... But we don't want it to come too soon, do we?" or "I can't intervene, can only watch." patiently, death patiently waiting right by the corner... isn't intervening, is simply there, looming over you, waiting to take you to the afterlife once you do kick the bucket. Also, he laughed his ass off if all the characters met their end in your story.
Don't know if I'm right, but it's quite cool.
Halfway through watching and I am obsessed. I love Insyms playthrough! And the little Chicago hints about H.H. Holmes is super cool. For a fact, the address you find on the paperwork saying where to meet for a ride under the bridge is the real train bridge right outside of the original location of the murder castle. Obviously the castle has long been torn down and is now the post office but still an awesome reference.
They did a great job with all of the nods. Even the bar resembles the Stanley hotel bar & the one from the Shining.
Insym rage moments (so funny) 1:03:28 and 1:12:35 (until 1:14:30)
Until dawn was already good, i can't imagine how fun this game can be
Untill Dawn is likely the best game of them
@@schmelzkopf6562 It was very innovative for its time, that's why it's more likely to be the most favorite for the most of people
@@BeastRedAsh yeah it was huge at the time but I appreciated the Story more than in some of the newer games. Depends I guess
@@schmelzkopf6562 because it was good ol' cliché story about dumb teenagers doing dumb things. Then it became repetitive without any meaningful gameplay additions and writing became so unnecessary subversive. I swear ship and Salem would've been 20 times better if they didn't have those "twists" in them.
@@schmelzkopf6562 I guess it was just perfect mix of mysterious killer, ghosts aspect and real mythology with wendigos and mines. Also memorable locations in winter setting. The story was really fleshed out in my opinion, in comparing to other games, but not the dialogues though.
So for me Until Dawn is also on top spot, just sheer ambience of it was amazing and very memorable.
New games are not neccesarily bad, they do have some strong points, for example second large game, The Quarry, had pretty good dialogues, characters and environment, and the story itself was pretty twisted and cool, but the whole vibe of the game just didn't clicked with me, felt a bit underwhelming, especially the ending.
The Dark Anthology Pictures on other hand has hit or miss games, House of Ashes was... script failure except for few characters. Man of Medan was just confusing, but boat ambience was creepy af, that you can't distinguish foe from friends. The new game has also it's flaws, but has new strong sides too.
Also not every concept of the game suitable for every person. We all can equally love the horror aspect, and the developers are good at delivering it in their own memorable style. But not all stories are just good for everyone. For example I am a fan of fantasy stuff, but I feel heartbroken, when it's real human kills humans. So I tend to less like real killers concept in comparing to mythology stuff. For some people the idea of the story itself is enough to overweight the mistakes in the plot and surrounding, and maybe flat characters or dialogues. It's understandable. I just kinda wish people would include technical stuff in their rating too, since it's too easy to call a pile of sh the best game of the century, purely from subjective standpoint XD
Sorry for rambling, I tend to overanalyse
This game's atmosphere is on pointtt It just adds so much sensation to even the smallest cutscene. I wonder what would happen if you always chose the say nothing option tho
I absolutely love the Dark pictures Anthology games some better than others, it was great to see you play this 🙂 to me its definitely one of the better games of the Dark pictures Anthology series and I cant wait to play it myself. Thank you for all the streams and RUclips uploads. It definitely makes a dark day more brighter 🙂 Take care ❤
The man in the bueler hat, mainly went to fairs looking for victims. Chicago became top tier in the fair industry and he built his hotel within that frame. He also killed the man that finished his hotel for his life insurance. He mainly prayed on woman. He honestly got away with so much acting innocent. It's a great true story.
what i wanna know is, did holmes install the kill contraptions himself? or nah? if nah, what were the builders thinking when building a secret airtight room with gas pipes opening into it with one way glass facing into a bathroom? lmao
I already knew about H.H. Holmes and his horror hotel so when this game came out I was like wow this is going to be interesting.
I was wondering if anyone else knew who he was before this game. Good catch!
i love how insym goes into games totally hyped, then curses at the game mechanics because they are utter shit, but at the end of the video he always smiles and praises how wonderful the experience was.
I know I’m late to this but the most unsettling thing is the fact that the old man was not even phased by the check out dates being the same handwriting across different groupings of individuals. Creepy man
The guy that plays Holmes sounds so much like Oxhorn. Really adds another level of creep to be welcomed to a murder hotel by associate professor evil
I love how they made a game on an actual historical event, although horrible irl they nailed the story and the whole atmosphere of the killer hotel, the hotel made to kill people and they nailed H. H. Holmes character
I'm afraid I'm going to disappoint you, but the killer hotel never existed. It was a usual hotel where Holmes lived, but he didn't have enough money to sustain it. Besides, he killed less people than said, only killing the ones who were in a way. He was poor and tried to get money unfair ways.
@@hie9352 Not much is really proven or substantiated at all about HH Holmes or the murder castle. Due to the time period, the fire that burnt through his building and the insanely exaggerated media of him at the time, very little can be proven or disproven. We know he killed his partner, and probably his partners three kids, and we know he engaged in a ton of fraud and grave robbery. Outside of that, we can only theorize, and every historian seems to have a different idea of it
@@ImplacableInsanity well, you're right about the killings. But there was an investigation, after all. The police made up the story about the castle so they would be paid more. As for Holmes, there was lots of tax fraud.
@@hie9352 Yeah, that's why I just said fraud, cause he did tax, insurance, and sales fraud. Interesting about the police report though, I haven't read that in any credible source so far. Where did you find that? I'd like to read it if possible. All I've ever been able to find is that is was most likely overblown by media, gutted by fire and then torn down much later, and that it wasn't a functioning hotel at all at the time of his arrest. I'd love to fill in more gaps

Omg I just rewatched the until dawn playthrough and then you upload this omg I'm so hyped!!!!
i love seeing the different choices different gamers pick!! i'm all in this is great, thanks for also really looking around for different clues to help put the whole picture together about the islands history. loving this.
I literally was waiting for you to make this video since I saw the game come out. Only few minutes in but so sure I'll greatly appreciate it as usual.
Ty for the fun content!
Awesome game. I was waiting for you to play it so I'm really excited to watch it now!
This game already looks like it's the best one out of the dark anthology series :D
I remember you having 100k subscribers the first time i watched you, you grew so fast im really happy, youre quite underrated in my opinion keep it up ^^
Love your gameplays keeping my day in a good mood with your personality
As of this moment I am watching your until dawn playthrough and your notification happened to appear as I was watching it. Talk about timing!!!
"Horsea?! Is that a Pokemon?" 🤣 Making me laugh from the get go
So scary yet exciting to watch the story progress! Love your videos Insym!
Idk how insym does it but his hour long videos are just so worthy. No other can make me watch a video this long in yt lol. Ily insym, we say MORE,,,,!,
They keep going on about how HH Holmes was the first serial killer in the US when it wasn't even close. There were LOADS before him, though many targeted slaves, free Blacks, or Native Americans. There were also a handful of women who poisoned multiple husbands and at least one known "angel of mercy" (nurses who kill patients). Plus the Harpes, the Ashes, Delphine LaLaurie, Jesse Pomeroy, Thomas Neill Cream...
Yeah, I'm pretty sure even in RDR2 there's an incestuous family type thing going on and they killed a bunch of people, apparently based off real serial killer siblings/a family.
That was one of the most fucking horrifying parts of that game for me. Literally waking up in a fucking pile of dead bodies.
1:17:47 afraid of heights? more like afraid of a bridge built like that!
Omg omg omg I just saw the notif now and this looks sick!!! I found the Dark Anthology to be rather hit or miss tbh, so I hope this one is a hit just like House of Ashes hehe
Edit: i also just saw the facade of the building and immediately thought of HH Holmes. I wonder how they're going to approach the whole thing since true crime as a genre has been having its own nuisances. Haha, but I'm just rambling at this point, and I hope the game won't be a cop out like Little Hope
This game is awesome! Thank you for streaming it❤
47:00 At some point, I found out about that system, I made an account, and put in the code of all my Nintendo games, and the games of my sister, and we couldn't even buy a keychain toy, literally the cheapest possible. The worst part about that was these points had an expiry date of 2 years after inputting it into the account, so 2 months before we got a Wii with 8 games, our points already expired, and I saw no use in putting the points of those 8 games in.
The best part, the most expensive thing was a small toy with like 9 million points. That's real microtransaction whaling, who ever got these. (I believe we got to around 70 points)
That rage at arrows and spacebar puzzle makes me laugh till I'm dead...
2:29:56 I think Dumet's family was being held hostage by the killer, his wife got killed and if he didn't get more people to kill in time, his daughter would be killed as well?? Doesn't make much sense, but that's my prediction for now hahah
i think he was the morello dude from the previous group and one of his daughter, his other daughter and wife(?) and other person were likely killed
Around 1:10:00 to 1:15:00, When games, that were made for controller, port keyboard and mouse, they usually put right stick as the mouse movement or arrow keys, and left stick and 4 direction-wheel as WASD.
They don't fix it, because they don't expect anyone to play without a controller. There exists a review of NieR:Automata, where he's reviewing only with a keyboard, and struggles to go through the tutorial, while having the mindset of the game being terrible, and being unable to tell as to why everyone gives it a 9 or 9.5 out of 10, and defends his argument that everyone must be in love with 2B's backpack. (that has more polygons than all of 'ocarina of time')
He didn't even get past half of the demo area, so bad was his experience with the keyboard alone.
3:12 everyone in sunny Meadows be like 😂
This video was so great to watch especially during a restless night! Helps keep you awake more 😂😂😂 I really love your take on this gameplay! Looking forward to chapter 2
The prior Phasmophobia Fuse Box appears at 2:54:08 and I was really hoping Insym would notice but he didn't- literally sobbing
I'm Jamie "who cares what he's trying to keep out. what could he be trying to keep IN?" probably anyone who goes in... he probably doesn't let out... willingly. that "did you trip over your ego again?" line was also epic
As soon as I saw the Hotel a few seconds into the game, I knew what this was in reference to. I literally said “oh no”. 😂
For the intro there is a bonus trophy if the couple dies watching each other
Just a tip, you can unlock a lock with just one utensil. As a kid, I would lock pick my doors in my bedroom with a single bobby pin. I would use the end of it to turn the lock. It depends on the lock type.
3:12 the ghost or insym in phasmophobia be like...
They made subtle but game changing amends to the controls and gameplay that I really appreciate. If you go back to Man of Medan you'll notice it's much harder to navigate and things like that. I think Little Hope is my favourite but this is a close second.
I always love to see myself in chat.
That matching smile in the thumbnail, nice
1:14:08 my favorite part
It took me forever to realize that the beginning was about H.H. Holmes, a serial killer in the 1800’s who built a torture hotel with booby traps in Chicago. Im from Illinois and I’m disappointed that I didn’t catch that immediately.
Well, I wouldn’t feel too bad! When I saw the “worlds fair” newspaper I immediately thought about H.H. Holmes 😅
I watched H2O Delirious and Cartoonz play this and it was super buggy! Hope the solo play is much better, lol! Ready to watch now, let's go! :D
I didnt watch ANY video of this game because i was SO excited with Insym playing it so i can watch him doing it!!! So happy!!
I HAVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR YOU TO PLAY THIS AHHHH SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS
I believe on the camera, the top is the range finder and you adjust the zoom so the arrows match and you need to get your character to face head on. The characters seem willfully ignorant that the hotel is a recreation of the murder castle full of traps/ sliding walls and doors/ and hidden passages. I believe the actual murder castle just had places to hide furniture Holmes was wanting to claim he didnt have or lost to con the seller. Also all of his murders were motivated personally and he wasnt a true serial killer.
Maybe the real DEVIL is the friends we MADE ALL ALONG! im just kidding great content as always!
You are my favorite to watch when playing this game series, so I had to wait until this video came out before watching it elsewhere :)
OMG finally, thank you so much, I've been waiting sooooooo much, thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You better drop Part 2 ASAP or I will riot. This is too good to wait
yay i was waiting for you to post this one 🥳 thank you and have a nice week 💕
All the other games had such great animations and accurate motion capture. You can tell they rushed to get this one out
the thumbnail proves insym is a real life cereal killer 🥣
Wow, they really made him resemble the real Dr. H. H. Holmes that's awesome.
I relate to that one person who said "I KNEW IITTTT" in chat when Holmes introduced himself
gonna love this series, i can already tell! :)
I watch true crime too much and knew this was HH Holmes right away but they did great with this game!
Actually got goosebumps hearing that last tape recording, had to shake off the heebie jeebies, nasty stuff...
Got me hooked tho, cant lie! :D
Really excited to watch this playthrough! ❤ Not sure if I missed something though but the narrator didn't take your coin things when you came back to visit him? I thought he wanted those.
1:13:59 that insym rages here about the controls is so funny. I’m fcking dying
I've waited for this one to come out, cause I couldn't watch your stream. Glad it's here now
As soon as I saw World Fair posters I knew it was based on "the murder castle." H.H. Holmes built a hotel and killed 1 person for sure and possibly 9 others. AND he looks exactly like H.H Holmes! I screamed lol 😱
This whole anthology is absolutely awesome, but they surely saved the best story for last.
Watched it on Twitch already. Thank you for playing this game 🤗
I did a voluntary school project on him bc i found his story so interesting
I almost thought the serial killer was Albert Fish, by his appearance. But apparently, he's H. Holmes. I'm not familiar with that killer. But Albert Fish was no joke, he was more sadistic than Jack the Ripper.
Holmes was crazy, he was insanely talented at building contraptions, but was also just actually insane, he killed at least 10-20 I’m pretty sure and was named the first serial killer (if I’m thinking correctly)
@@greencumulon6830 The appearance between the two serial killers is almost uncanny, but yeah, there is a 40 year gap between the two. Perhaps, Holmes was reincarnated?
Hi, Insym!

I actually haven't known you tremendously enjoyed that game!
So I hope you keep an eye on it's REMAKE release!

I think if Insym play again in roblox BUT in Apeirophobia it was really good! Because it's really strange and interesting game!)
Thank God Insym does what he wants not just to please the crowds and had his own thoughts too!
Let’s goooo 🥳 can’t wait to watch!
ive read devil in the white city and i knew where this was going and i still acted shocked each time
I was hoping you would play this!!! From what I saw it looked very entertaining!
LMAO when Insym rages and starts beating the mouse 😂
I kind of like this "totem" system. I get why it's frustrating, but I feel like it makes the 1st playthrough still be a bit surprising without being sure what the right choice is. In the future I bet the "totems" (dark pictures? I forgot) are a good enough memory trigger to recall actions to take. Just finished this episode! Curious to see what else happens. Thanks, Insym :)
When I read the title my heart dropped for a second since I just finished a Game Design Document regarding a Game about a real life serial killer 😂😂😂
Insym explains exactly why the premonition was helpful. While claiming it was useless.
the devs did it again with the amazing graphics... holy!
Fact: the smell of decay of a human is very hard to replicate due to gasses our bodies produce
i loved it so much, thank you Insym!
