I may just be chronically online lol but the way you guys present this podcast not two guys talking amongst yourselves, but as if the audience is a third person is great man. I don't know if you or anyone else remembers whatever the hell ESPN was on a couple of years ago, but every draft pick seemingly had some anime-esquely horrible origin story. Like, why would anyone need to know this kinda stuff?
You have to know who the parents were and what they did in order to understand the player's upbringing. A QB with 2 aerospace engineer parents or an OL with 2 farmer parents is an example of parents that will raise you on the board. In order to understand someone you have to understand their upbringing. They even speak to high school coaches, family and sometimes old friends. The draft is such a huge investment that all the research is important
@@brianbadonde9251 I don't agree. I get why teams do it, but for media analysts it's wholly irrelevant. In soccer I could know everything about a player without ever hearing one thing about his parents. I don't see why that would be different in the NFL. You can't define a player's character in a short blurb anyway. If your on-field analysis is thorough, you don't need all that extra ish. It's just easy content.
These players are the most valuable human beings in sports, so the excessive background info check makes sense.
Obviously it's "unnecessary" for media to talk about it, but all of sports "journalism" is unnecessary with that logic
They talk about what people want to hear about, and NFL football is a big market that enables nothing burger stories in a way other sports don't.
Whatever soccer team you're referring to isn't getting anywhere near the attention as the Dallas Cowboys. People aren't making as much money talking about them.

as a WVU fan i vividly remember Jalon Daniels absolutely dismantling us by himself in 2022. yes we’re a big 12 defense but my god he was so electric. it was admittedly a fun watch, i’m definitely rooting for him

As a MASSIVE KU fan, Jalon being in Trevor’s top 5 is super exciting but also terrifying lol, I only hope he comes back better than ever this season and gives us a shot to possibly win the BIG12, the two Kansas Schools with Next years Summer Scouting prospect Avery Johnson should make out for a great season!
The schedules setup for KU and kstate to meet in the ccg. Such a diversion from where they’ve been in the past, even if you have to be old to remember kstate being bad.

Glad to have the pod back. I am a big colorado fan. Your analysis of sanders is on point. I will say he is my number one qb this year but my issues with him is he has that Carson Wentz syndrome of trying to play hero ball. There are definitely plays where it works. Like the drive against colorado state where it shows his upside but there were plays like against Stanford where his hero ball tendency showed the negative side. Hopefully the o line improves drastically where the stability causes him to be more calm. I believe he can make that next step into being round 1 qb but currently he is not but he has the ability which hopefully shows through this season.
