I also didn’t like him slandering Cousins for being surprised about the pick.

@hugeboi3669 He has no justifiable reason to be upset. Penix isn't there to steal his job, the Falcons guaranteed him $100m because they expect him to be their QB.
So maybe they promised him they were going to use the #8 pick a certain way, but even if they had, that promise flew out the window the moment he threw them under the bus for tampering.
There's a strong chance they lose next year's #1 pick, so if they want to stash a QB to develop, their timeline got moved up a year by his derpy decision.

I’m a Jets fan who has seen a lot of players differently than Connor over the course of the lead up to the draft, so I didn’t want to comment much due to an aversion of seeming deliberately contrarian, but I’ve watched most of the stock exchange episodes over the last 2 years, and I’ve really enjoyed them a lot. As a dolphins fan, I so want to agree. but I was pretty anti Chop. Also not the biggest Patrick Paul guy, I understand it. His PFF grades in college were crazy (he was their number one tackle in true pass sets, pass protection) and he's a hell of an athlete. Just, he's a gorilla who hasn't yet learned that hands exist. And those rarely work. (His grade was so high mostly because of competition)
But everything after that was money. I didn't even hate running back, even with the trade. Not great value but Jaylen Wright great player great fit. Mo Kamarra I really loved. Really loved Malik Washington.

The thing with the Vikings and next year’s draft is that they will most likely receive two third round compensatory picks and the Cousins tampering issue will probably land them an upgraded pick swap with Atlanta, so they aren’t in as bad a shape as it looks now. They also landed 17 UDFA’s including the #1 again, and last year’s #1 was an immediate starter for them.

Browns fan here. I think people underestimate just how gigantic Michael Hall Jr being a Brown is. Dude will get playing time on pash rush downs with one of the highest pass rush win rates coming out of the draft. We have Myles Garrett, Z'Darius Smith, Ogbo Okowankro as the other stud pass rushers, and that pocket is gonna COLLAPSE. JOK if he's sent also someone who gets behind the line of scrimmage in a hurry, Delpit too if he's sent. Getting that extra pressure could result in a hampered ball that is intercepted or deflected by the elite DB room you mentioned.
Additionally, when people get tired, typical Ogbo and Alex Wright get flexed in on the edges. I'd wager, Ogbo, Alex Write and Michael Hall Jr on a DL when Myles, Z'darius and Dalvin are tired will still be quite productive.

I think Bo Nix is getting severely underrated. People forgot Bo can play beyond the X’s and O’s it’s what he did best at Auburn. His play at Oregon was about him becoming a maturing as a football player and proving he can develop and play at a high level CONSISTENTLY. I really don’t understand how his talent keeps getting undervalued.

Packers have said Morgan is gonna get a shot at LT and I think Trevor nailed it that they liked his flexibility start outside then kick inside more than Barton's purely interior flexibility. The fact they got Monk from Duke means they scouted Barton and liked getting interior guys later.
Cooper is an A+. Bullard is exactly what Gutey wanted to match against McKinney so A. Lloyd is DJ's #1 back and obviously the body type they want after getting Jacobs.
The rest are backup O Line and Special Teams and shouldn't impact the grade that much.

Also if we waited at our original pick there would have been no starting DT available. Plus the team claimed to see great chemistry so I'm fine with them pairing up Verse and Fiske.

The trade for Turner was well worth it. Even though they took him at 17, he was a player in their top 10 on their big board. And there is no way they wanted penix over McCarthy. They wanted maye, when they were denied, McCarthy was there target, and got him with out losing the 23 which is what everyone thought they would have to do to get him. Falcons taking penix really screwed the raiders if anything

Vikings projected to get minimum 1 but likely 2 compensatory 3rds from Hunter and Kirk leaving.

As a Packers fan, totally agree with what y'all said. A little confused with Morgan over Barton. Reminds me of Josh Meyers over Creed Humphrey cuz I was confused then too. Then the Hopper pick, which definitely felt a round or two early. I guess they needed to fulfill the GB 3rd round curse after skipping last year. We'll see. Really liked the 2nd round and 7th round choices

This is different because Morgan is going to start out at Tackle,we saw Barton as interior only. There were LB I liked more than Hopper so it felt like a reach, but we needed to come out of this draft with 2 LBs.

love the analysis but to help shed a lil more light on the McKinnley Jackson pick for the Bengals, they wanted him to be their space eating, run stuff nose tackle like they had with DJ Reader. Obv Reader was incredible and did more but they value a guy that can eat up a double team if they need help run stopping. They just love their big ol' 320+ lb NTs.

A thing regarding Jordan Morgan and Graham Barton, mentioned at the Packers part: Barton was announced as a Center, Morgan will start his career at LT, confirmed by LaFleur. Barton was a great fit for the Packers, but mainly as a Center in the first round? Feels extremely rich, especially given the options they have at C. Feels weird to hold that against the Packers.
Yeah, the Hopper pick was weird. It totally makes sense to pick two ILB in this draft, but if you really pick a 3rd, just try Payton Wilson, who was still available at 91. The rest of the draft is really good tho. Gutey tackled the holes of the roster.
This draft class is getting swept under the rug cuz the Packers havent really picked a shiny, premium position outside OT adn Kalen King in the 7th. Packers literally didnt need EDGE, WR, TE, CB.

this was the best draft the pats have had in a long time.
drake maye has a super high ceiling
polk has a super high floor
caedan wallace is a high floor guy
javon baker is a high ceiling guy
    every pick made sense

Vikings will have insane cap space next year, and Kwesi might be making those trades with comp picks from Falcons/Cousins situation. Turner also way more versatile than verse in the Flores system vis a vie being able to drop cover in multiple blitz packages

I love the Chargers Draft! I wanted 11 & 23 from Min to snag Fuaga/JC Latham at 11; a CB at 23 & a WR at 37; DL in 3rd rd & LB in 4th. Once the Vikings deal fell through, they did the next best option.
