    It's not boo-fet. It boo-fay. I think you could have made a piece to complete the missing trim by casting a mold from the other side. Otherwise it's a very nice renovation. I like the final look. It's especially good that the casters were still there and were in good shape. Nice.

    Absolutely stunning and the finish came out beautifully, it took the darker stain to bring out the grain in the wood. I’m currently working on a piece that I’m finishing with the Algonquin paint wash and I might just finish of with a darker wash. You’ve got me thinking. Thanks, Jx

    • @aliferefurbished
      @aliferefurbished  11 месяцев назад +1

      Either way, you won’t go wrong. I’ve done plenty of pieces and simply applied Algonquin, including my own nightstands. It depends on the piece, but the wood grain of this one was so porous that I knew the dark stain would enhanced the look of it. Glad you like it!

    I just discovered acetone as a stripper for CERTAIN finishes. I put it in a spray bottle, spray small areas at a time(it evaporates quickly), let it sit for a few seconds and then use a plastic or soft wire bristle brush/scraper to remove the finish. The bristle brushes work well in detail areas.

    • @aliferefurbished
      @aliferefurbished  11 месяцев назад

      I’ll have to look into the acetone for stripping. I have a go to stripper but ran out and need to order more. I’ve used brushes many time, the small pieces were just tough to grab to scrub.
