About my videos: These videos are a resource for anyone wishing to wake up from the dream of separation. Awakening, enlightenment, and liberation are becoming far more mainstream possibilities than they once were. There are many good teachers out there, and if you resonate with the teachings of Eckhart Tolle, Rupert Spira, or Sadhguru, you might find resources here that address these deeper promptings to investigate your true nature.

What has helped me tremendously is directing attention like a laser to any sensation arising in the body and then zooming in fully on that sensation to the point zooming in no longer makes sense, only the sensation remains and nothing apart from it.

Extremely helpful throughout this "journey to ourself",it somehow becomes automatic during the waking state and even when engaged in daily activities, relating and so on keeps attention partially out of the thought space.
And when triggered or lost in thought its a marvellous "tool" to get out of your head.
Firstly introduced to it by Eckart, when breathing exercises,in my case, didnt work related to withdrawing from compulsive thinking.
    I highly encourage it!
    Thank you Angelo!❤

I liked your description here about tuning into pure sense. I practice this to recover from nearsightedness. I get my best clear flashes from the habitual blur by doing this practice. I quit glasses years ago and still working on vision improvement. Blessings.

There is this physical sensation near the "head space" that almost gives weight to the thought space if that makes sense.
I first noticed this when I had my first mind storm/freakout experience - I was at a social gathering and was thinking I was going insane, everything felt so "unreal" and I had to run to the bathroom to try to calm myself down but nothing seemed to work and my intuition just took over and it felt like I leaned into experience and all of the sudden wasn't "apart" anymore. While this happened it litertally felt like there was a shift or release of a contraction at the back of my head.
Now I'm definitely not fully identified with my mind anymore, but the habit of falling back into at as a primary point is still happening quite a bit and usually with it this slight body feeling. Really fascinating.

Also the funniest thing is actually seeing the visual field feels like going from HD 30fps to 4k 120FPS if that makes sense haha

wow, this is really challenging! It is so intertwined with imagery... when I'm touching what I think is Hair, immediately there is an image of what I'm touching. Seems to be more subtle than labels and narrative. I remember some while ago I touched my beard in a really empty state and it felt so unexplainable that I thought, how would you even program this!?😂 I feel that there is a lot of avoidance buried here, but the body sensations seem super difficult to stay with for me. Curious where this will go!

  • @flyingsneetch
    @flyingsneetch 6 месяцев назад

Hey Angelo! Thanks for this one. I have been trying to keep my attention in the body sense during retreat, and I think I am pretty aware of the reflective aspect - that I'm not actually in the sense field fully but in some thought-based reflection of it, or somehow subtly thinking about being in it but not being in it fully. Happy to have the confirmation here that it's worth sticking to either way.
I also wonder - would this practice address reactivity on its own? I find that when I try to approach reactivity from the fetter model as laid out by Kevin, I can easily get stuck in the mind. Would it make sense to just simplify the whole thing and stick to remaining in the senses as much as possible? Or is it also good to at least add in the "I want X to be happening, but X isn't happening" part?
    Thanks :)

Good stuff! I understand/experience the distinction you're making here, and appreciate the encouragement to drop the separation from, to stay with, to join the raw experience of Being, through the body... Thank you for this video, and for all your good work... 💜
But if I may, for one moment, play the obnoxious role of the grammar police... the word you keep (mis)using should be "dissociation", NOT "disassociation" (which is not a word... at least not in English... at least not YET 🙂)

Is it possible to attain this calm and presence if your body is in fight or flight due to past trauma? Seems the brain is hyper vigilant in order to avoid future catastrophy. Is it still possible to be in your senses and not your head and eventually wake up ?

  • @RyanBowcutt

Do you think it’s necessary to learn to see thoughts as thoughts (like what you mention at 6:46)? Wouldn’t that categorization just be another thought that would require holding onto the original thought long enough to categorize it? Shouldn’t it be enough to simply not hold onto anything that arises?

Angelo, do you have any retreat recommendations in the US for someone who resonates with your teachings?
I see you have one retreat coming up, but idk if that one's for me.
Perhaps its less about what I resonate with and more about what my current experience and world models are like.

it sometimes feels like the reflective mind thats not really worth listening to is right next to a mind that is worth listening to.
Im more stable in the mind that is worth listening to when I don't use words. So I'm wondering if there is a way to use words and to orientate towards speaking that would be useful here?
(using Buddhist terns "mind worth listening to" would be "original mind" the mind connected to primordial life force ...)

Sometimes if someone touched me I get a lot in my head and zoom in where I’m being touched, I wonder how should I I approach that. Maybe, first recognize the thought as thought, second move attenuation to all body sense rather than were there’s the skin contact with another person or maybe also include all sensual fenomana as in sounds and taste as well? 🙏🏻

The references you make in this video about the release of not having to access the mind to know where you stand, the release of having to go or do anything, seems like its having an adverse effect, I'm feeling rather edgy, trapped, confused or cornered by this sensation, just not a good feeling, im feeling kind of panicked actually not relived, everything seems more real but with a negative conatatiition
