    This is an excellent video displaying the exact issue I am having with my Giulia 2.0T (though the forums seem to indicate this happens on the Quadrifoglios too).
    It is maddening to floor the pedal quickly from a stop and have the car lazily crawl forward for half a second before it wakes up and actually starts increasing the revs. I find it legitimately dangerous at intersections where a quick turn from a stop is necessary.
    On the forums I have read some theories that this issue is partly caused by the transmission tuning intervening and trying to manage torque. I have read claims that leaving the car in gear in manual mode reduces the tip-in lag but I believe this video demonstrates that this issue is not strictly transmission related, and it is certainly not turbo lag related.
    I will have to do more experimenting in manual mode in 1st gear to see if it really does fix the issue. Alternatively, I have read and noticed myself that the car seems to prefer a slow roll onto the throttle to get going rather than just mashing it - sadly I am a ham-fisted, lead-footed, ape who just wants car to go fast when I press gas hard.
    In my head I know that this initial tip-in throttle lag can't truly be fixed with a throttle controller but I am so disappointed that this behavior is baked into the Giulia that I am probably gonna buy a throttle controller anyways just to rule it out as a possibility. I am desperately hoping it can be improved or at least convince my monkey-brain that the problem is minimized.
    Thank you for posting this bhvrdr.

      @@bhvrdr Thank you for doing all the hard work of making these videos! I'm happy to add to the discussion around this topic.
      Looking at your other Giulia videos on your channel, it looks like you went pretty far down the tuning rabbit hole - did you find this tip-in lag ever got better with the JB4 or any other tuning?

    • @bhvrdr
      @bhvrdr  Год назад +1

      @@Cpt_Gantu hi there. Unfortunately using jb4 or even the madness pedal controller doesn't fix the initial delay. It seems the only way to work around it easily is to slightly brake boost in situations like pulling out from a parking lot into a fast moving roadway to safely and quickly merge into traffic. On other cars changing the throttle body and or porting it can also help but I never tried that in these

    Great video and nice car! I just got the sprint booster after a lot of research and it actually does reduce throttle lag (watch Vids on how quickly the throttle body opens with it). Most others are only modulators which doesn't do much if you press the pedal 20% it thinks you pressed 40%. Might as well press 40% and save your money

      Do you find that the Sprint Booster really helps with the initial tip-in throttle lag that bhvrdr is displaying in this video? I found the Sprint Booster advertisement videos you were talking about like this one: ruclips.net/video/8u7lIJfWc6U/видео.html
      It looks promising but I remain skeptical that it actually works exactly as advertised. I would love to find a video of someone with a throttle controller installed performing the same testing that bhvrdr does in this video.

      @@Cpt_Gantu the pedal is more sensitive and responsive for sure. I use it a lot when I need to pass someone (no hesitation or delay in shifting). Here is another good video that explains ruclips.net/video/D7kEyw9BJyo/видео.html
      I also like how you can disable your throttle for added security.

    I have the new euro drive f.r pedal control , and it definitely makes my Giulia more fun. You can dial it in to where it feels best. There will always be turbo lag because it is a turbo car, but this helps.
