HI, the instructions always suggest to turn on TV first. In reality it doesn't really matter that much. The remote sends out a "power" command which the TV recognizes and just turns on if off and off if it's on. It'll work either way.. Hope that helps.
HI, I don't have that remote handy... If you go on Amazon you'll probably find the remote and the model number. Just type in RCA 4 device remote and look for a thumbnail that looks like yours. If that doesn't work, certainly you should be able to google that and it'll come up.. Thanks.

Thank you! Are you in tuner mode on your TV? Is your TV in Air mode and you have cable channels or vice versa? Do you have an antenna hooked up? I'm not sure what you're asking?
This doesnt work for my Philips TV :( i have an RCA 4 universal remote, and ive programmed it to other TVs before, but cant seem to program it to my Philips TV. Any suggestions? Philips TV is a 32PF3506/F7 RCA remote is a RC49K-T3-02
That doesn't look like a smart TV. Maybe try the codes for Magnavox? Or an auto code search? One other thing, if you have another TV laying around try using it with that to make sure the remote itself hasn't developed a problem.
@@JLPicard440 yeah its not a smart TV. And i have already programed yhe remote to 2 other tvs to check if it works, and it does. Ive dont the auto code search as well, but i will try it for a Magnavox and see if that works
@@xDJLAFx That is strange. Seems like it should work for Philips.. Do you still have the original remote for the Philips? Just thinking of a possibility the TV itself is having a problem. There's nothing blocking the IR sensor on the TV is there?

Thanks! I have used some different ones over the years, I think a the time of this video I was using Premiere Pro, but I am using Final Cut Pro x now. Me in the corner is filmed on a green screen with a separate camera and the program uses a keying program to clear the background. Similar to the weather man is filmed on a green/blue screen and superimposed back onto a map. Hope that answers the question.
i am trying to program RCA smart tv through auto code search. the volume, power, channels and menu buttons working but I could not use up, down, left, right, enter, back buttons and could not see options for RUclips, Netflix.. i am trying for last 3 hrs and i am so fed up now. this is the second universal remote I bought. plzzzz help me!
When it comes to smart TVs most universal remotes you're probably not going to find your smart functions like RUclips or Netflix are going to work.. But the arrow keys should work. Did you try all the codes available for your device? Sometimes one code will work better than another.. If you have the original remote, you can get a remote that's teachable and use the original remote to teach the commands that don't work like your Netflix functions.

Is the 2nd code the wrong code? The TV is supposed to go off when the remote hits on the right code. IF that 2nd code isn't the right code, like it'll turn off the Tv, but your volume, menu , input something like that isn't working... try to see if the tv will come back on with a different code that might work better.
My rca remote tells me to press code button first and then follow tv button and then enter the code...i used all numbers for my tv and the power button never lit up. Tried the second method let tv search for the code, but instructions are lame it never tells you the reaction you would get if it found the code...so one can be sitting all day waiting for a sign.
When you do the auto code search the reaction from the TV is it'll turn on or off. It sends out a power signal so it depends if your TV is already on, it'll turn off. I always recommend to start with TV on. It doesn't sound like you're doing the code entry method right... I'd start with that, it's easier.

Does this work similarly when trying to set up remote connection to the cable box? I can't seem to get it to work with Cox.
Yes it should... Does the Cox remote use RF? maybe there's a setting in the menu of the Cox device to make sure that IR is setup... just a thought..

When I do auto code search it cuts tv off on second code. Not able to skip back cause tv went off?
