    Great advice. I would advise that you change the battery in your clock 😅

    Very good advise Ads, loved it and I would like to see this practicle advise taken on board by all those reviewing motorhomes on RUclips instead of people constantly stating, "very nice or I really like that" a more practicle outlook would be so much more practical and useful, instead of keeping on side with the manufacturers, pointing out their design failings would result in more practicle vehicles for us all. So many times I see reviews on the small campervans with never a mention as to where the bedding will be stored, not to mention the amount of cupboard space it will take up. 👍❤

    Great summary Ads.Along with license class,payload should also be a big consideration and a lot of thought should be put into thinking about what the user will want to take with them.BTW, you need a new battery for your clock 😆

      Thanks @GedandMichele 👍👍 . I did think about including payload but I thought that might be too much info for someone buying their first motorhome

    One thing that is clearly apparent if you compare older and new motorhomes is the move away from above cab beds. Whilst I can understand why some people don't like them (can be difficult to get into, claustrophobia) the alternative is, as you mentioned, either a fixed bed or making up a bed in the lounge. For me, I would go for above cab every day. They are just so more space efficient (IMHO)

      Let's face it. The only people who can afford a new motorhome are over 45 anyway 🫤

      There's no such thing as a HGV 4. It all goes on categories now. Unless you got your license before Jan 1997, you will need category C1 to drive anything between 3500kg and 7500kg. If it weighs more than that, you will need the HGV C category. Most people will be able to drive a motorhome up to 3500kg on a normal car license. If you had your license since before Jan 1997, you will be able to drive up to 7500kg in weight.

    I thought all motorhomes come equipped with an inverter and a leisure battery for non campsite camping. I would like a motorhome to live in 24/7, is it possible?

    • @HermanHitstheRoad
      @HermanHitstheRoad  3 месяца назад

      No, not all motorhomes have inverters, @cozzie4937. Ours doesn't. Most motorhomes have a 12V leisure battery. An inverter takes the 12V power from the battery and converts it to mains power (110V in the US, 230V in the UK). This allows you to power your home appliances such as microwaves and hairdryers. However, the leisure battery will drain much much faster.
      It is possible to live in a motorhome 24/7 but there are many considerations to think about such as; where are you going to stay each night; where are you going to get fresh water; where are you going to empty your grey and black waste water; where are you going to get your power from and what appliances are you going to need?
      I hope that helps?
