I'm so thankful that you are posting about your uni applications and your journey. Most people with grades like yours who make videos about "reacting to X University/college application" always get in. Thanks for being realistic about this.

I was offered a place in 2013, but I have to say your grades are better than what I got back then. I honestly don't even know what advice I can give to people, only that of course NUS has its standards. But once you pass a certain threshold to meet those standards, it mostly comes down to luck. I also happen to think that you would most likely have done better in NUS than I did, so don't give up on your efforts

Hi Zhi ! i had an inquiry to make as i was also considering applying to NUS. i graduated high school in December 2022 from Kenya and i am sure that those results don't reach the minimum requirements. i was considering sitting for 3 A level subjects in November 2024 and would like to apply for 2025 intake. i tried emailing the school on whether they accept those qualifications but their answer was quite vague. Anybody here with info on that, your help will be appreciated
If I’m not mistaken, you applied with 3A* only right? Then later on you took history and got A* and top in the world for history? NUS will accept you if you take 4 subjects in one sitting rather than 2 different sitting, so probably it could be the reason of your rejection? I got rejected tooo 😢
Yes, what you said is completely correct; I thought the exact same thing too (they rejected me due to my separate sitting for A-levels). However, I've tried my best to compensate for that by taking another A-level subject, history, in 6 months. I've noted this in my appeal to the university too. Hopefully, they'll at least reconsider my application. Meanwhile, all the best for you and your tertiary studies. I believe that with hard work, you'll strive regardless of which university you're at, whether the university is NUS or not. All the best!
@@zhiheng796 Sometimes I gotta say university acceptance can be weird. I know one of my friends who got 3A* + Top in Malaysia in AS and A2, unfortunately he could only include Top in Mayasia during his AS but not for A2 due to the application period. He got rejected too probably bcuz he took only 3 subjects although he has x2 Cambridge awards Anyway, thank you so much for the kind words. All the best in your future endeavors!
Meh, i just got my rejection letter. Idk I was already in the second year of uni in another country. Highest grades possible at both highschool and uni. Lots of extracurricular activities and recommendation letters. Oh well, did try my best and did cry a little but idizvadidiz

Yes, I did apply for appeal. However, my appeal was unsuccessful. I am not sure about the percentage of success, but your appeal will be considered on an individual basis, and success will depend on the strength of your appeal. I hope this information is helpful.
Yeah, I did consider applying to NTU. However, I do not meet their entry requirements since they require students to sit for all A-level subjects in one sitting. It's a real shame though.
