I had split parents. Visiting my mom for christmas she borrowed a cousins N64 cause he got a PS1 and she rented Rayman 2 for it. She had no memory card, so it stayed on for months. We never beat it, until I got it later for the PS1. Good memories as a family working together to beat the game.

I think Rayman entered a bit of a dark age after Rayman 3, only being revived by Rayman Origins in 2011, but even though Origins got a sequel in 2013 in the form of Rayman Legends, it didn’t do enough to bring him back to full glory. Though, I am hopeful since he made a cameo appearance in Mario and Rabbids: Sparks of Hope.
I don't have any connection to old rayman but like. Legends is a masterpiece platformer. Methinks it was mostly the poor marketing that it got after being delayed because of Zombie U doing bad, and pretty much no one talks about Legends so it sadly checks out.

I loved the atmosphere and it was quite difficult, I then had Rayman 3 on PC, then Origin on 360 and Legend on my first gaming PC. The coolest video game hero needs a great new game, but that's over now...
I agree and disagree at the same time origins and legends were both spectacular but didn’t have the feel of the old games eitherway after legends the franchise is kinda abandoned tbh which is really sad considering how great they were!
out of every versions of Rayman 1 that came out I would rank the PS1 American version far more superior next to the Pal version. What made it worst was Ubisoft never even bother to fix the soundtrack audio of the game. Basically every scene/levels would play the whole music library playlist from the beginning of a soundtrack that not fit for certain levels.
