For those wondering, the as-of-today overall record is 12:40 on a Stealth B with a preigniter, by Thomas, from Sweden.

@@Billy1Kirby Insanely impressive-- for those who did not check the website that I didn't link, this B1K run is three full minutes faster than the next fastest sans-preigniter run. Mad props.

Man, you make this game look so easy. I haven't managed to beat the flagship once. I'm gonna have to pull out some of these strats next time. Awesome speedrun, man. I've been watching a ton of these lately.
its basically just hacking on the shield + high damage beam weapons such as the Halberd.
Flak 2 is good too, with beam weapons

It looks like you're powering down hacking so the drones shot misses, is that correct? Was not aware this could be done
Sure! When you depower hacking, the hacking drone stops moving. So if you time it when the defense drone shoots, the shot from the defense drone will go ahead of the hacking drone. Hope that helps :D

Amazing! I can't even beat the Flagship on Easy haha (On the... default ship. Been a long time since I played so I don't remember the names quite well.)
watching his speedrun videos actually helped me with game strategy a lot. A pretty sure fire way to beat the flagship is hacking with beam weapons.

Can you beat the overall wr with this ship? I wouldn't think so but man, that was seriously close to it!
Possibly but EXTREMELY unlikely without a glaive+pre-igniter to pull that off. Which is exceedingly difficult to do on any ship other than the Stealth B (which starts with the glaive).
It is possible, but unlikely.
