- OKC took on the Wizards for a quick pitstop back home, and did not disappoint the home crowd. Even though it was against the Wizards, this game had performances that will determine the future of many players on the team. Bryson Akins breaks down his thoughts on this Thunder victory.
Thunder Digest covers the latest reports, news and rumors regarding the Oklahoma City Thunder. If you want to stay updated with every trade, move and tidbit on players like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Lu Dort, Josh Giddey, Cason Wallace, Isaiah Joe, Aaron Wiggins, Mark Daigneault and Sam Presti.
We do not need to trade anyone right now tbh. We gotta see what this team is like fully healthy especially in the playoffs. We winning so we need to stick with what is working right now.
Hartenstein is starting! We need his rebounding in that starting lineup. Chet gets bullied on the boards. We saw that in the Mavs series.
Ajay Mitchell has excelled past Joe and Wiggins. He practically finished the game in the 4th. The Wizards announcers were impressed with him. I always like to listen to the opposing team announcers.
Why are you all so infatuated about making a trade? The Thunder haven't even been full strength this year. We have plenty of time. Lets see what this team can do full strength until making a trade that may disrupt the team.
There are going to be trades no matter what eventually we have way to many picks with not a lot of roster spots left
Because the team’s playmaking is woefully inadequate, j dub is not a proper 2nd option for an offense, we need someone else who can generate offense like Shai. What we saw in the NBA cup game and the playoffs last year, we will see in the playoffs again, our offense stifled. The Thunder have a very average offense. This team plays together very well so its a shame, but a trade is needed.
The problem with that philosophy is the deadline will pass once the team is at full strength. It is legit now or never to make a trade.
@@Alderak1 JDub could be a 1 option on a crap load of teams so how could he not be a #2?
@ Did you read what I wrote? Did you watch him against the Bucks in the NBA cup or in the playoffs last year? He gets stifled too easily. He’s efficient but he’s not the type of shot creator you need in the playoffs when defenses put on the pressure and close the distance. His confidence and his handle are a bit shaky against quality playoff defense and he takes overly long strides on his finishes which allows defenders to recover and give good contests at the rim. If J dub was nearly as good as Shai at creating offense we wouldn’t have a mediocre offensive rating.
ihart should not go to bench he should be a starter
i think we should be giving big Jaylin at least 30 minutes and starting pg
Why yall keep trying to make Chet a 5. He is a 4 and should start as the 4.. we have a backup big now that played 5 great mins tonight, so now we can play just like Cleveland and the bucks do.. but better!! Chet is not a 5 let him play his position as the starting 4.
From what I understand and have seen, Aaron Wiggins can get his own shot which is not something that others like Alex Caruso or Isiah Joe will do from the bench.
Yes, but what good is making it if you cannot knock them down? Plus with the amount of time Dub and Shai play with that unit, it would be fine.
1. Chet Is A 4 Not A 5 He Should Stay At His Natural Position
2. Hartenstein Doesn’t Need To Come Off The Bench That’s What We Have JWill And Branden Carlson For
3. Aaron Wiggins & Isiah Joe Haven’t Been Disappointing Just Haven’t Been Playing That Many Minutes Or Taking Up That Many Shots To Be Effective
Wiggins played 15 minutes, and went 1-5 from three. Also, with the lack of minutes, gives it more reason to trade him for someone that would get minutes and be more effective.
IMO the starters with Chet will be sga then Dort at the 2 jdub at the 3 Chet at the 4 Ihart at the 5
Also I don’t think we dish Wiggins bc other than his minutes getting cut for a bit he has been playing good. I think if we are going to get a shooter like cam Johnson we will dish Dillon jones, Isaiah Joe (his part on the team will have significant overlap with cam Johnson) and then a couple of firsts and a second. Brooklyn will get a young guy to develop along with one of the best bench roleplayers and shooters along with picks to rebuild and Okc will get a good 3 point shooter to space the floor and increase offense. The only negative is Johnson doesn’t have the highest level defense but that should be evened out with the rest of okc’s elite defenders. I also don’t think the thunder make a trade until deadline either
Wiggs has not been playing well. Shooting has drastically dropped off, defensively is struggling, and has lost his role now due to the Caruso extension. It is just dead money there that would be best suited in a trade for a guy like Cam Johnson.
Now, I HOPE he plays better, but the fact of the matter is he has played horribly.
@ yeah, no. Wiggs has been playing better than Joe and Joe is known as a shooter. Wiggins has a better shooting percentage (in literally every category) is averaging more rebounds and only .1 less ast. Is averaging more steals and blocks and 1 less minute I mean his only bad thing is he is averaging .9 TO a game (Joe averages .5) and his average plus minus is 5.4 (Joe is averaging 6.4)
Joe takes more threes than anything else, and takes more shots, and has more starts. Joe has also been proven to be our best bench player and is horrible as a starter. Legit did a video over that a month ago. Wiggins hasn’t taken a step back defensively, and is constantly losing minutes to Caruso and Ajay Mitchell. There’s no point in keeping a guy that will not get any minutes in the playoffs.
@ Joe has a worse percentage this season. Is averaging and has less points than Wiggins and has more minutes. Joe gets less rebounds steals and blocks while averaging barely more ast (literally .14 more) also ajay is a pretty good talent and they could honestly be building his draft capital to go all in and Caruso is literally just a defensive dog. You can’t use Caruso against Wiggins bc Caruso is literally an all-nba level defender.
Wiggins + 2 picks for Cam
Salary bro. Need someone else. Joe or Krich
Salary wise we would need to offer more. I am thinking Wiggs, Kenrich, and Jones with a first and second round pick. We could also try and throw in someone else and get DFS as well if we want.
