You’re looking at Caruso’s contract completely the wrong way. The way the NBA trade market works is that when you trade a player, what you receive in return has to be equal value by salary and/or draft picks. What Presti has done since he has been here is he’s always paid the mid level guys higher than what most people would say they are worth, but his worth isn’t strictly determined by their box scores. If somebody wants to trade for Caruso down the road they will have to give something of equal value in return, and the higher his salary the more the Thunder will get. Presti has been doing this since the beginning and it’s one of the main reasons they have so many picks. It’s usually worked out really for the Thunder, except for Andre Robertson. They over paid him too but nobody wanted him after the injury.
Thunder fan since 2008. Enjoy your reports and enthusiasm. Just one negative comment. Get rid of bright light behind your head. It’s annoying. Keep up the good work. Go Thunder!!
Caruso deal has proved Thunder had and have the money to sign Steven Adams, Westbrook, Harden, Regie Jackson, Ibaka and more... Would consider adding Horford, Drummond and Lowry contracts, not a problem at all.
Dillon Jones, ouse, joe,are out in whatever package we do .because of 4 possible picks next draft. Gotta have roster spaces not saying we draft 4 but we definitely will draft 2
To anyone complaining and still thinking the team overpaid Caruso, I want to remind you that a thing called INFLATION exists. This contract would have been worth 8-12 million each year 5-10 seasons ago.
I am a big Oklahoma City thunder fan in Carouso has helped us but I don’t see giving him that kind of money and they’re giving the other big that we got 70 million but you got the rest of our guys playing on regular contracts and I sure hope this don’t end up like James Harden trade don’t have the money for our good players
It won’t, like I get it 80 mil is a ton. That’s only like 13% of our cap space though. Players are making more now, and this contract would have been like 8-12 million 5-10 years ago.
If the Thunder trade for Cam Johnson it makes it a little harder to extend chet and jdub since we signed Caruso to a 20 million dollar contract and Cam Johnson will also be on a 20 million dollar contract and harteinstein is on a 30 million dollar contract
@ThunderDigestYT 6.1. But his 36 numbers this year are 20.5/4.6/7.7 2.4 steals on 58% shooting. Doesn't shoot the 3 but he cooks and can be that offensive spark we lack way too much
I bet you that Kendrich, Wig, and Joe are NOT traded. ODang, might be. I don't think wants to dump those three as of their lower salaries and for team moral....
Sure they over paid. Welcome to the NBA. He's a 5 player not a 20. He is a great player for what he brings you. But you play 20 to a guy who bring offense too. He really doesn't. If he's on the court for offense you aren't scoring much. If they'd have paid him 4 for 20 then you'd get value. The NBA is not about value. It's about can you overpay to get the guys or keep the guys you want. They didn't want to lose him, so they had to overpay him. Hopefully when he's 34 the contract is still worth it. Players age differently. If he ages poorly, he might be worthless at 32 and you are still paying him 20 for 2 years. Signing someone like SGA like they did was great. Barring injury at his age it was a great sign. 4 for Caruso might turn out badly at his age. If he loses a step, he's a worthless player.
Who cares whether Williams can shoot 3s. Can he defend the paint and rebound. If he can't he shouldn't see in minute of action. The 3 is the most overrated shot in the NBA.
THUNDER UP BABY! The Alex carushow is here for 4 more years! And the glorious charge king Jay will has returned!

Haha, this is just for the time being while I am back home for Christmas! Appreciate the support though!
Good decision by Sam. Alex is a beast on defense!!

Alex might not be that great on offense but he is definitely needed for defense.
Braums hat is goated

Cruz was stolen for Giddey. Such a magnificent upgrade. JWill will add beef, some size and toughness. Good stuff!

Yes and no. Keep in mind we can decline Hartensteins last year since it’s a team option.
@ but why would we ? He’s been great for us
TJ Mcconnell...
What impact do you think he'd have?
Bench leader. Natural driver, scorer and assister.
I'd love to see him and only 44.8M for 4 years.
hmmm how tall is he?

We already have Mitchell who is a lot like a younger tj. @@ThunderDigestYT

I am a little concerned, J. Dub , J Will and Chet need to get paid also. Presti will work his magic though!
This shouldn’t effect those contracts at all
They might trade the expiring contracts of Caruso and Hart. I think J Dub will be a trade piece for the Thunder.
Jwill’s contract should be pretty cheap lol unless for whatever reason he’s asks for a lot.
