I bought this the other day and came up with a really good smoothie ! You should try it Hand full of blueberries 3 strawberries 3 frozen pineapple chunks 2 spoons Greek yogurt Splash of vanilla Tablespoon of honey 3 cubes of ice Splash of orange juice It's the best I ever made lol did get a few crunches but so worth it
@@lizzyL59 try a little more fruit a little less liquid. Perhaps it works for me since I add a frozen banana with the frozen berries. My recipe is simple. I use frozen banana, handful of berries, two tablespoons of vanilla yogurt, one scoop of vanilla musclemilk powder and a few ounces of water. I add a splash of orange juice sometimes. Your recipe sounds yummy!
I've had one of these for a few years. Rather than stopping and shaking, just pick up the whole unit while running and shake it. You can also lean a bit sideways while shaking which allows much better blending action. Solves the nut grinding issue mentioned in this video.
I purchased a Magic Bullet yesterday. I made myself a smoothie with 1 banana, frozen strawberries and ice. It was perfection. I used the pulse method, not on automatic. I didn't have any chunks of fruit nor of ice. To me it was a good product. :)
I've used mine to make cheesecakes! A bar of cream cheese, some sugar, milk vanilla, brown sugar ... chop the cream cheese into thirds, and mix! After mixing, just pour into prepared pie shells and cook!!! So easy!!
Here's a tip for smoothies. Don't use ice. Use frozen fruit. I buy a bunch of bananas and once they are ripe, I peel and freeze whole in gallon sized freezer bag. When ready to blend, a frozen banana easily breaks in half. Buy bagged frozen berries at store in the freezer section. Add yogurt, protein, and water, for perfect smoothie.
i often make sorbets and smoothie bowls in mine and i get quite a nice result using frozen fruit and a wee bit of hazelnut milk. although it does get stuck i either just pulse it or use the jug and plunger attachment to push it down. if that doesn’t work i just use a spoon to move it about. i’ve had mine for around 8 years now and i think it’s great 😃
It's actually an interesting matter of physics, it's not necessarily what you put into it but the air that surrounds it. When you have such a fast spinning blade it creates a vortex that pulls air into It. If you're blending something that's viscous enough to close off that vortex the blade will Be stuck in an air bubble and no more food will be processed. Using the Infomercial as reference almost everything that they made as an example was completely jam packed into the cup they Were using
The little motor smoked and died after the 3rd use, so I took the base appart, cut the cord off and removed the plastic cooling fan from the splined shaft and Re-assembled without the base, and now I just connect my DeWalt cordless drill to the splined shaft and it will blend frozen fruit with no problems. The motor the Magic Bullet came with is just not powerful enough. Thanks for your honest review!
I got it recently, and have used it only a couple of times but what I figured out is, this one works well with good amount of liquid only. I tried the garlic with some water and got a decent puree. Magic bullet is more of a blender than a chopper.
❤We love our magic bullet! We mainly use it to make smoothies and to grind coffee beans (using the small cup) to make a pot of coffee. It's space saving, light weight, quick & easy to use, AND it has held up great for us for many years.
You should slice some veggies in pieces before chopping them for use in the salsa instead of putting whole tomatoes in the glass. I have this machine as well and lightly shake the blender up and down while chopping does work very well too.
The cross blade is not the blade you need to mince your garlic. Its the flat blade that works best! And chopping your nuts... if it was the smaller container you used it may have processed the walnut halves more evenly. I personally love the magic bullet, smoothies are frothy and delicious and it makes the best guacamole I've ever had.
How do you expect the food on the top to drop to the bottom when there is not enough water to move the bottom stuff out of the way? It's like trying to fall to the center of the earth with all this dirt under your feet.
I have the orginal Magic Bullet that came with a multitude of extras, even a plastic blender pitcher came with a juice strainer attachment. I bought this version of the MB in 2003. Over the years I lost or jacked up some of the extras, such as losing lids, dropped & cracked the big pitcher during a party. But I still have the small, large and 4 handle plastic cups. The base is still in great working condition, although the chopping and blending blade attachments are slightly dull from use over the years. However, the blending blade still makes some awesome fruit and yogurt smoothies, my home made tomato sauce from real tomatoes, and my liquid habanaro salsa. I use the chopper blade for grinding whole coffee beans for my French press. It's an appliance that does have a learning curve, but once you figure out how to make it work for you it's kitchen worthy product. 😁👍 btw...the original MB you have the option of twisting the cup into the base to lock in down so you have to hold the cup down. I've never had any issues of the base moving about or the MB tipping over while in use. I think the original MB had a heavier base than the newer made ones. Nor does the motor sound stressed while I'm using it. Don't expect the Magic Bullet to precisely chop fruit & veggies, or chop ice into slush for margaritas. There are "other" kitchen appliances made for those needs. Just saying......
Glad I found the review on this. I've had my Magic Bullet for 10 years and still to this day, I love it. Although I don't think I would attempt to make a sorbet in it. I would save that task for the food processor. But like I said, I love my Magic Bullet. It's still great so far.
What do you use it for then as I’ve just attempted chopping coleslaw which it should do fine and it’s shit. Not fit for purpose! Nothing but the emperors new clothes or a Ponzi scheme. Needs sorting. What can I use it for?
This is a REAL review. Thanks. I like that you did not ramble and that you really tried to make it work. Obviously that if you don't add enough water the thing is not going to do well. And that salsa was more soup than a dip. I think it is basically a smoothie machine. I can also see it working well for soups but then only if you are not trying to chop onions or garlic. Good review.

And that is to shake the magic bullet while blending. Lock it in place an shake the whole unit, blender and cup all toghether. Then it will do a decent job. I am sure there are better blenders and choppers on the market. But I think the Magic Bullet is very convenient. But on the other hand, by seeing this video I was reminded of all the problems I had. I does dry things very well, and very wet ones also. But it struggles with semi-wet ingredients. And there were things I could not make with ease. Like salsa, for example. And it was very, very loud. But maybe the original Magic Bullet is more silent than the counterfeit, I don't know. What i liked the most was the very small size of the unit. It takes no space at all. Not more shelf space than a coffee cup. It is very handy and easy to grab and easy to use. And very easy to clean. But it certainly does not work like magic. So I might go for a Tupperware non-electrical food chopper. They seem to be very convenient. But I have never tried one. The noise of the Magic Bullet was the worst. A non-electrical can't make a high noise. Why can't they make blenders that are silent?

That was very helpful! It seems that in the TV advertisement they used liquids for everything, to achieve that smooth result. Sorbet is not even possible with machines more powerful than 200 watt - it would be unrealistic to expect that.

I call BS on that marinara sauce they showed in the infomercial. For one thing, you can't get a tomato sauce from a blender with the thickness they showed without at least adding tomato paste, but you just know they filmed someone pouring a bottled sauce out from the bullet cup over some spaghetti.
What is the difference between 1) Mixer Grinder 2) Blender ? Can’t mixer grinder do the same job the blender does ? And one more question, is the only job of blender is making Smoothies? Thank you for this honest review. Iv just purchased one and not sure if it’s going to be great. I wanted it for smoothies only. So I suppose anything else is a plus. Will let you know : )
I bought it recently because it was 4 times cheaper than Nutribullet and yes, there are chuncks of food sometimes in it, but some vegetables are better cooked for example kale, and spinach, and even rough I made a decent smoothie with it. the real test was to make almond and lax milk and it left some pieces as little as ground coffee which is ok for me. I have a friend who bought Nutri bullet and used it for 6 months than returned it because the lid wasn't as tight. so if it breaks, I'd rather i spent less money. she did get money back but I think I'm gonna stick with thisone. If you move things around in it and shake it it does a good job. and more liquids sometimes helps.
you're welcome. I still use it every day, just blend smoothies longer and they keep on getting better. i'm very positivly surprised with this product and yet I haven't tried all it's options. I would recomend it.
I don't think it is designed to do some of the things you tried to do in your review. I love mine, and it was a bargain low budget bargain (smoothie/ liquid drink maker) worth every penny. Still, I enjoyed your review by the way. 👍

I just purchased one last week. It definitely takes longer. It takes me 3 or 4 times until it’s all mixed.
I feel that for some of the recipes she should've used the smaller jug.
I agree. The small jug would benefit chopping of garlic and use the correct blade. I felt she just wanted to dis the magic bullet.
It looks like she purchased the set that didn't come with a smaller jug or secondary blade, based on the amazon page she linked to. Is there much of a difference?
I bought a 7-piece set which contains a smaller jug.
Salsa is made to be chunky. I used to put in fruit like oranges and apples with there were little bits of skins mixed in...
The best way to chop the walnuts and the garlic is using the smaller jar it works well for that jar.

Thank you for this honest review. Iv just purchased one and not sure if it’s going to be great. I wanted it for smoothies only. So I suppose anything else is a plus. Will let you know : )
So how is it going with magic bullet... Your review?
Will this be good to prep food for weaning a baby??
Used mine only 4 times, simple smoothies (frozen fruit, juice, NO ice) and it started to smell and smoke!!!
This is a real review, thanks for your honesty and professionalism!
+Sathia Hans Hi Sathia, glad you liked the review :)
Is it good with ice?
There is a small cup so maybe you could use that
Edit: no to be rude
You need to use a different blade for chopping, according to my instruction booklet.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us :)
you're welcome. I still use it every day, just blend smoothies longer and they keep on getting better. i'm very positivly surprised with this product and yet I haven't tried all it's options. I would recomend it.
Can we wash that mixing black part?
It's alot easier to use the smaller container to make salsa and chop the garlic and the nuts
Shake the whole thing when you blend it. It's a hell of a lot better. ;)
Is it good for making baby purees?
who cares just drink it
Kk
Ikk

The smaller jug for small amounts works better.
Thank you for this review, it is very helpful to decide whether to go for it or not

I don't think it is designed to do some of the things you tried to do in your review. I love mine, and it was a bargain low budget bargain (smoothie/ liquid drink maker) worth every penny. Still, I enjoyed your review by the way. 👍
And say what size of blade you use at all to make a smoothie so I didn't know what blade the flat blade or the other plate
I used mine 2 years ago. I got it out and the other day and can't get it to turn on. Help
I just purchased this, I like it so far...
Thanks for sharing 😀
I just ordered one from amazon, i hope it last long
