Yall are so sweet! There are people out there who will get rid of their dog before putting in this kind of effort 😔 My previous sweet pup lived to be 22 years, and I cooked her food as well. She was allergic to wheat and corn, and she had arthritis forming at around age 10. Her allergy symptoms was scratching, hair loss, and ear infections not caused by mites...but yeast. My recipe was similar to this, minus the beans. I used olive oil and glucosamine supplements, pumpkin, ground egg shells, eggs, and a tiny bit of liver. My current pup has IBS, but she can eat grains. Oils and fats, including meat fat, give her HORRIBLE diarrhea. The poor thing couldn’t even get to the door without spraying all over herself 😭 I’m going to start cooking for her as well. She’s young, so her supplement will be a probiotic. Thanks for sharing, and thank you for putting in the time and effort for him! You definitely earn brownie points with God to show so much compassion like this ❤️❤️❤️
Awe! Thank you! He's a good boy (most of the time 😉) and helps keep our other critters safe. Sorry to hear of your doggy troubles. Fur babies are part of the family! I don't know how some people can be cruel to animals or turn their backs on them when they have issues.
our dog has blood in her poo the vet says its colitis .her poo is being tested ,we were told by the vet all dogs should never be given human food ,we give her royal canine gastro intestinal dog food and just a little treat .could be a few scraps of chicken plain a few bits of baked potato some green beans .The vet says we are doing the wrong thing,The strange thing is our dog cannot eat dog biscuits most dog foods gets stomach aches.she can have this royal canine dog food but gets so bored just having one thing.for the last 2 years shes been having little bits of plain human food and been fine.our vet would not call it a effort she would say your doing the wrong thing.I am very upset because now our dog is going to be so dissapointed having to eat just one type of food for the rest of her life.
I just got back from the vet for a recheck of my dog Zoe. Six months ago I was making preparations to put her down. She was so ill she could hardly walk. She had constant diarrhea, she was anemic, her belly was bloated. It was terrible. One night this video came up in my feed I guess bc I'd been searching her symptoms idk but anyway I decided this would be my last ditch effort and it worked. She slowly started getting better. She's a Shar pei/ Wheaton mix and was previously 58 lbs. At her sickest she was down to 48 lbs. Today she's up to 53 1/2 lbs at 11 years old. She's happy, she's playing and going for walks again. The anemia is gone. I just wanted to say thank you for posting this video. You probably saved my dog's life.
Good for you and especially good for your dog! I know just how frustrating it is to have this kind of condition. One of my dogs has been dealing with digestive issues for nearly a year now and nothing has worked. Even after doing a specialized expensive blood test sent to Texas A&M, the most probably diagnosis was a B12 deficiency (hereditary), but with the addition of the B12, the diarrhea still did not resolve. (No vomiting ever, thankfully.). Like your dog, this dog is similar in size and build and went down to skin and bones and lost all his beautiful muscles. I was afraid I was going to lose him. We had worked with several vets and even made an appointment with the Veterinary College, but couldn't get in for several months. I tried everything I could think of, chicken and rice diets did not help much, other supplements and additions would work a bit, but then back to cow pies. I did a lot of research recently on diets for IBD/IBS and began concentrating on his diet. (Chicken and rice previously did not work for him.). Finally found a brand of food with fish as the protein and other combinations which are specifically for IBD/IBS (but not the terribly expensive stiff that vets sell you!). This new food so far has miraculously and immediately given him good poops again. This is such a terrible thing and in 60 years of raising dogs, I have never had this problem. Feeding small meals throughout the day is kind of a pain sometimes, but necessary. Thanks for your great video and I'm hoping that my dog will again look like he did before this. (He was 7 when this started.)
Thanks for uploading, my cooper has IBD. Im paying 180 pounds a month for dog food so im going to try this. My cooper also was very very thin and i was at my wits end multiply visit to the garden at night with his contant diarriah which lasted a year. He still gets flare ups so im going to try this thank you i will let you know how i get on. Thanks guys clare with cooper the cross collie shep.
our vet has just told us that no dog should be given any human food only dog food,I explained we only gave very plain food sweet potato lamb mince oats chicken .99 percent of the food is royal canine dog food .our dog has intestinal problems so i said but the human food agrees with her better then most dog foods.if she has dog biscuits she gets a stomach ache .our dog just loves getting little bits of our food as treats .just the veryu plain thingss.really fed up i said i cant understand it are you talking just about dogs with food problems.no she said all dogs should never have human food.at the moment her poo is being tested as she has blood in it they think she has colitis ,
Do you have the recipe written down? My dog has acute colitis/ibs but I think chicken and rice is iffy for my dog... he's always been on a homemade diet
I don’t have it on hand. Since I made the video my dog had passed and I threw out the recipe. However when I do bring my newer dog to the vet I can ask for another copy and get back to you. I’m sorry, I should’ve kept it.
Just want to tell you, our dog was just found to have pancreatitis. She also was vomiting and had diarrhea. Our vet told us we needed to feed her homemade food the rest of her life because like your dog she doesn't tolerate store-bought food. He does recommend Science Diet prescription food if we need to replace it for a short time. He told us that in making homemade food we must boil the meat to remove all the fat. So now we boil the meat but put all the other ingredients in the instant pot. When they are done we just mix them together.

Have you ever done any research how fulvic acids can heal you gut on a cellular level. Once your gut is healed then other areas of the body can heal. If you don't heal your gut first, nothing else will have lasting results.
Did you even watch the video. I said very clearly that I rinsed the beans, reduced the salt and that it calls for canola oil. Please be more observant watching videos before you come criticize people. Again our veterinarian gave this recipe to him and is doing extremely well on this diet. Growing up we had dogs with the same issues,
Two of our labs preferred green beans over the kidney beans
I don't mind making his food because the specialty dog food is so expensive. Plus, who knows if it would even agree with him.
looks like great dog food
Great meals for Cammo. He can finally eat right. No manufactured dog food.
