Love this I'm firever telling people how to make soup. I help out at local foodshare distributing supermarket leftivers to people and soup and veg curry are recipes we suggest. Much happiness to you and your lady
Excellent news I've been hoping to hear from you for a long time!!! You're such a doll and deserve all the happiness! Give Shelby love from Aunty C. ❤️❤️
Great recipe! I make tomato soup without a recipe too and just with what I have so if there’s a spare pepper, it’s going in. If I was you, I’d have chucked that onion in the oven too, halved with skin on. I roast the garlic too then drizzle it all with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and then it’s just ready for blitzing! Then adding the extras (tinned toms if you choose, stock, sundried Tom paste or purée, ketchup and/or sugar (to balance the flavour) Beef stock adds a dynamite flavour for non veggies! Cheers for some other ideas 😊
I LOVE making soup! Like you say its almost impossible to ruin (over salting is the worst mistake). Its the same with making slow cooker stews. Bung it in, turn it on, walk away. Slow cooker stews are so easy, and energy saving too
I love making soups, have a portion when you make it and then bung the rest in individual portions inside a sandwich bag, lay flat in the freezer and then you have soup for another day or for packed lunches for school/work etc. One of my fave’s is carrot and red lentil.
Hey Mr. Adam! Great seeing you and so glad you are doing well! Soup looks very nice and delicious! So happy that you have Shelby in your life! I wish both of you many happy days together. Please don't stay away so long. We miss you very much! Take care and stay safe! Big hugs to you from your friends in FLA! 😊💖🙏🏻
Congratulations Adam! So happy for you, mate... oh, and the tomato vines stalks can be added and then removed before you puree! Adds great flavour... just tie them up like a bouquet garni.
Nice one Adam, love doing soups. One pan heaven and virtually impossible to cock up. Cheap, easy, batch cooking friendly, tasty, nutritious. I could go on but I know when I'm getting boring. Congrats btw.
So THAT’S where you’ve been! Good for you. I’d have saved a couple green tomatoes and grilled nice fat slices/halves, they make a great starter with some hot mayo. Spoonful of good German mustard or a pinch of dry also a lovely thing to give background flavor in sauces or soups.
It's great to see that the man is happy again. I love soups, but I have to make them from fresh ingredients because after decades of practice, I rarely have anything in the fridge needing to be used up. Also, not having a garden, no gluts either. Although I do have a rather tasty yet very economical recipe for a tomato soup using tomato juice - not vegitarian because it uses butter to soften the onions and celery. But what would you expect from a recipe book you got from the milkman for ordering extra pints. That dates the book a little - mine is from the early 90's, but the first edition dates back to the late 60's! As for a stick blender, if you make soups, I would class it as an essential piece of equipment. It is so much better than a stand-alone or attachment blender, and without the storage problems. Perhaps I should send you some of my delicious homemade mushroom soup, as I know that you would be unlikely to make it yourself 😂
Excellent vid Adam 👍 l froze most of my tomato crop for use later . I regularly scan the fridge and do some sort of veg soup with what looks a bit iffy for me and “Stan the man “ my very elderly neighbour, nothing goes to waste🙌
@@Adam_Garratt Hi Adam , just a quick note the old bugger is 101 yrs old in June , has only just given up driving and is 100% upstairs. I’m 63 and l think l’ll take a leaf from his book . He cooks everything in lard and drinks like a fish… Is this the secret of eternal life😂😂😂
Congratulations you deserve a good partner in your life. Also tomato soup is my favourite I am going to make this, my tomatoes were very slow to ripen here in Ontario too much rain and then too much heat I have some tomatoes still on a plant if the frost didn't get them I am going to pick and try the banana idea as never thought of doing that.
I'm glad you are happy, both of you are lucky. She has a great guy, and she must be wonderful too. As always an awesome cooking guide. I love cooking soups, and definitely tomato soup too. My 8yr old loves to cook too and thinks you are funny 😁
Hi Adam a mate told me about cherry tomatoes that you grow in a hanging basket I put 5 in 2 baskets I got loads all ripened there were so many I had to give loads away there called tumbling tom I got small plugs only going to do 4 plugs next year well worth a go and taste smashing
That looks lovely Adam Glad my tip about the banana worked. Congratulations re your girlfriend although obviously I'm gutted lol. Seriously, good luck xx

Nice one I will try that …If you knew how far past the use by date I’ve used stuff it might surprise you , just use your nose as we used to years ago before use by dates came into use. I grew tomatoes in a greenhouse years ago it’s the best way in our climate..Oh congratulations on your forthcoming marriage, I just lost my dear wife after 63 years of happily married life , a good wife is the basis of a very happy life.
Sorry to hear the passing of your wife mate, that cannot have been easy. You must have had such a strong connection to be together so long. That's amazing!
@@Adam_Garratt definitely, most of what I've tried to grow has either failed because of the weather, eaten by slugs or snails or dug up by the local foxes. Always next year 😀
