Already have this one on the way. Constantine is one of my favorite DC characters, and I just can’t resist the big Omnis that collect entire runs. This overview made me more excited for the book. Thanks for the thorough overview, Omar.

This is a nicely designed book from DC (I don’t say that often!) and the pages will probably sit ok with a good read thru. I’d probably pick this up if it wasn’t for the flood of books arriving in the next few weeks. Thanks Omar!

Thanks for the overview Omar! i don't think I can add this one to my collection due to budget and limited space. But...maybe someday haha. I like that they used thinner paper. I'm glad DC is going in that direction. This was a pretty cool run. I think the Lemire run was my favorite. Fawkes did a pretty good job too. I love the cover they went with. It's one of my favorite of all time. Ryan Sook is amazing! I think that was the cover to issue 9. Lemire's first issue. Take care and peace.

This book was delivered Saturday, it was great purchase, I love these stories read them on my nook e-reader, the art is so good has to get the omnibus.
Man I have a lot of mixed feelings with these thick books. Buuuuuuut I have only good feelings about them when I think about it’s much better releasing thick books than no books! Great vid and thanks for all you do! :D

Finally getting around to this one on my list. I’m enjoying the JLD parts, but they really didn’t have to reprint the entire Trinity War plus crossovers in this one like they did Justice League vol 1. Quick recap would’ve been fine. At least TW was a decent story though.

Hi there.... I see you mentioned Shade the changing man. Was wondering if they will ever make an omnibus or at least compendium of his vertigo series? I used to have the entire series in singles years ago but a college classmate borrowed them all and ya I dunno where to find the guy. I got two tpbs that vertigo printed years ago but they never followed trough to complete it (dashing NY drama of having it complete again). Great video.... Have always been intrigued in collecting Justice League Dark.
Anyone but me feel that once an omnibus starts getting into the 1600-page range, they should probably break it up into two omnibuses? Of course I'm also someone who likes to read while lying on his back holding the book over my face, so probably not the best way to read omnibuses in general. As for gutter loss, I can understand some two-page spreads aren't always going to look completely perfect, but cutting off text can be a huge problem. Though the biggest problem I've had with that wasn't even an OHC, but the Wolverine Dying Game Epic Collection.
Never herd of this but wow looks great and ive been interested in deadman i know he recently got an omnibus and the duo neal adams and conway is fantastic but with no real series i have a hard time getting it seems like it would jump around alot is that true??

Honestly the new 52 isn't that bad of a comic era, besides superman and the flash everything is fine. I don't understand the complaints at all lol
I think people hated how many of their favourite characters were erased from history. The Titans, the Flash family, the JSA, the Legion of Superheroes.
@@stephen8805 the old JSA wasn't in it, but there was still a JSA team in the new 52. But most complaints I see about it, is the stories are trash, and to me that's just not true. So much good stuff was made, animal man, swamp thing, Frankenstein, I vampire, and Justice league dark.
I think there are some great books. And this reminds me of a video idea I had forgotten to do months ago.
It has thinner paper so it is smaller, 2nd print of Blackest Night is also slimmer than the 1st print, same thing with Infinite crisis.

Probably an unpopular opinion but omnibus with a huge page count can be off-putting due to the sheer thickness of the content. I have JLA and injustice omnibus and I feel both of them would have been better off thinner. I had to stretch out their spine carefully.

I really wanted to get this because absolutely love supernatural team ups. I read the first book digitally and I just couldnt get into it. I was bored out of my mind.
Is that the pertiest-colored spine is the real question.
When an omnibus get this big, I’d rather have it split between two books. But knowing DC, we might not get the second book.
I think I will stick with the trades to save a litle money.
Too bad they didn’t start the New 52 spine branding right away. Looks good now but Aquaman and a few others don’t have it. Chalk up another DC collected editions fail.

just got this omnibus today from my LCS for $109 after tax.
For what it's worth, they're called endpapers or end sheets, not "end pages."
I’ve heard all of these terms in the past. The end pages stuck with me the most when I used to do custom bound omnis. That’s what my contact at Houchen would call them. I do switch up what I call them from time to time. But thank you for clarifying what they really are called.
I ordered the book but they could't send it, because amazon had not enough. And that by a new book. I'm sad. I don't know when they will send it now.

Is it me or DC never really gave appropriate attention to magic based collected editions like classic Madame Xanadu or classic Phantom Stranger collection. I do remember black and white showcase of Phantom stranger but else not so much. Would be good to see some collection of old school Zatanna stories too, hopefully upcoming movies will force DC to publish more.
I would LOVE a Xanadu omnibus.
New 52 is so odd because we ended up with rebirth and these stories aren’t part of continuity. Still a good story is a good story.
Pretty sure they're still canon. Not sure why they wouldn't be.
All the New 52 stories still superseed the pre-Flashpoint stories through the fact that they're the ones that most writers have read.

@@fishin4bass2002 DC rebirth was a soft reboot, it wasn't as big of a reboot as flashpoint. All that rebirth did was fix superman and flashes issues. It didn't do anything else really.
@@brandon17760 a lot more than that happened. New 52 never happened in current dc rebirth universe. It was all undone. They started over. The Batman now never went through the exact same things that Batman went through in new 52. DC rebooted their universe but they don’t like using the word reboot because of what it implies so they don’t say that.

Glad for everyone that’s excited for this but I won’t be getting it. Personally I thought the series was a bit repetitive and got too bogged down by crossovers.

So is this open ended? With a Vol 2 coming I would assume you’d need both for a conclusive story?
Next one will more than likely be the rebirth run and maybe the backup stories from the recent batman books, that are currently still coming out. An tie ins with regular justice league.... if I remember correctly you don't need both to get into it, but its always good to have previous information.

Stand alone and the story wraps up. The next volume will be the Rebirth era and beyond.

Omar everything you were saying about Superman and Batman being basically useless against magic is exactly why I do NOT like anything "Justice League Dark" (except Apokolips War). And also, why is it that John Constantine is always the ONLY one that can save everyone in EVERY story he's in?

It’s really everyone that writes him, seems to over-utilize him and in this case he becomes the backbone of the team. There are some stories out there were Supes and Bats take out Magic wielders. Check out the Superman/Batman omnibus for that. :)
