Musicians, especially drummers and SP fans know and acknowledge how talented he is. When I was 17, my older friends in a fusion jazz/rock band were big fans of Jimmy. It’s non-musicians & casual fans that aren’t aware. Mostly because they only know songs like Today & 1979. Jimmy shines the most on non-radio songs & projects like this 1 or the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex. When it comes to 90’s rock drummers, JC and Danny Carey from Tool are the best imo.

It’s always nice to hear Jimmy Chamberlin playing jazz! It really makes him standout when it comes to drummers from the same era. Danny Carey’s also a favorite of mine. There is 1 young drummer, Greyson Nekrutman, that’s also very jazz influenced. The kid has a lot of potential.

The Mighty Burner, one of my favorite tunes by Frank Catalano, and I love watching Jimmy play this tune because he's so versatile and relaxed. Thank you for posting this, it's rare to have footage of Jimmy Chamberlin that close up. It would have been nice to see more close ups of his foot action, he's got an amazing foot technique as well as in is wrists too.

I've seen Jimmy play with Zwan and the Pumpkins on relatively grand stages in Toronto, but this video of Jimmy playing on a stripped-down kit in a small venue is perhaps the most inspiring thing I've seen him do, possibly because I can see myself doing something remotely like this at some point in the future and with a lot more practice. Great tune, too.

Fucking nothing short of amazing. He was meant for The Pumpkin's like John Densmore was meant for The Doors.

@@4G63Tx Hell yeah man. I've only gotten to see them once. Unfortunately it was on the leg of the tour for Mellon Collie after Jimmy was kicked out in St. Louis. Still amazing, but as a musician; I heard EVERYTHING that was missing as far as the drumming was concerned. Jimmy was sorely missed that night to say the least. I was pretty bummed out when I found out he wouldn't be there. The guy they had to fill in was good, (I actually think it was the same guy who drummed on Adore.) But lets face facts, Jimmy Chamberlain can't be replaced and a true fan can hear the difference. Glad you got to see them with Jimmy on the drums!
