This poor kid played volleyball for 7 years for her school district and said that being kicked off the team ruined her senior year. I cannot wait for stories like this to end. I just got injured playing manhunt in my Bible study at my church. A guy collided with my leg. Had to go to the hospital. Thank goodness I didn’t fracture my leg. I’m having a very hard time walking right now. I have no hatred towards this guy because it was a church activity and a accident. We all got very competitive. But I do agree that men can’t play with women’s sports. Now, I’m sitting on my bed in agony thinking of all these girls who plays sports with men getting severely injured.
When I was in middle school we were playing kickball during recess. Bear in mind the boys were playing gentle, buy I still got injured. My buddy Mike was on the opposite team, he kicked the ball and I caught it... But I broke my left arm! My friend felt bad that he accidently injured me in a kick that he didn't even think was that hard. Even when playing gentle girls can get injured by boys.

This exactly what women’s sports needed to do. Riley Gaines went against this issue alone, which took bravery and strength. But, we are stronger as women when we stick together and support each other. I am so glad I’m a 43 year old woman who never had to deal with this when I played basketball, softball and volleyball.

It’s SJSU, I’m a current student right now. They’re all about letting men in women’s sports and in the bathrooms. I’ve seen it first hand. When I took a swim class they let a man in the locker room change with us!! And if we were to say anything we’d get into trouble

It's also great news that the Connecticut Court of Appeals reversed the decision of the initial judge in his ruling against the female high school athletes who were forced to compete against biological boys. The judge, who did not even allow the term 'biological male' to be used by the attorneys presenting the case, has reportedly reversed his own decision about that language. The case can now go forward. The only reasonable outcome is the every girls' record broken by a male athlete should be scrubbed from the record books and the female athletes be recognized for attaining the place the would have won if the boys hadn't been there, IMHO.
So happy to see these schools backing their female athletes, Males and females are built differently and should complete separately! Go Riley! You all are so brave!!!
They are not going back to normal....it has only started and it will take years until a solution is found. But just wait, when the new legislation gets their way: limiting access to contraceptives for teenagers and the abortion ban....they will need the males in womens sports, because they girls will be busy being pregnant. That I call stepping back into the 50s.
The biggest thing that helped me in therapy a few years ago (after decades in therapy lol) was that just because I think something doesn’t mean it’s right or I have to believe it. That’s what finally broke through my decades long depression. A lot of the trans stuff and other lgbtq stuff and DEI stuff could do with a lot of therapy with that tenet as the core of their sessions.

I got a transgender friend who is logical and she agree that its utter unfair and disgusting for a transwoman to play with biological woman. I support trans-rights, but you don't get to take a single slot away from a biological women. Athletes at the level compete at the margins of skill and ability and any edge means the difference between winning and losing.

What’s crazy is no one talks about if it’s fair how come you don’t see any females going into the male sports category let alone winning anything or let alone coming in first place. When Riley first stated she would not compete, I said others needed to follow in her footsteps! Yes, it would come at a cost, but it would mean a lot to women in the past who fought for where women are now. If this fight is lost, what was gained in the past will have been for nothing, and for the future, what would a young girl have to look forward to!

As a man who played high school sports way back in the 80's when women really were pushed aside, I support this 100% wholeheartedly. Not only is it unsafe, but it's unfair. That man playing is taking scholarships and other accolades from deserving women athletes. If the trans community wants to play in sports so bad, let them make their own conference. The thing is that the officials are not saying WHY these games have been forfeited by these brave WOMEN. The SJSU is shaking in fear and refusing to admit the man is on the team. And again, where is N.O.W. during all of this ? Silent as usual.
Here's the problem with this specific case: Where's the men's varsity volleyball team? This is one of the few sports, field hockey being another, where Title IX would require a biological male be allowed to play, regardless of what they identify themselves as. Normally you would take some proactive safety measures by requiring the male to either play as a libero, or not allow them to play ahead of the attack line. So if these ladies don't get their way, this is going to be why. Perhaps men's volleyball teams should be considered.
Massive respect, to these young women, for standing up to injustice. A personal note, and maybe a bit of inspiration. Why not have these girls actually attend the match, where this boy is supposed to play. And the SECOND he puts a food on the court, they all turn their backs to the field, and those on it, step off, and join their team backs to the court. Until the boy leaves !!! That way, they don't have to forfeit? Just a thought?

I am a volleyball player, and when I first heard about this I was shock that they let a grown man that probably didn't make the men's team who wanted to play just said that they were a women and out performed the young women who tried out just as he had for the men's team but instead of getting better he took the easy way out and said he was a women I hope that young women learn more than he did and get better rather than taking the easy way out.

I was at the SJSU @SDSU game. there were metal detectors and Campus police around all over. Usually the games have around 100 but this game was over 300 and it was intense in the stands.

They also need to sue the cheating male and the parents and all of those supporting the cheater. And as a part of the lawsuit they need to have records changed. That the cheating team lose every game that the cheating male is even on the team. And that each legit all female team regain a win.
I 100% support these women, but I wish earlier generations of feminists would have had this same energy when they were shutting down the Boy Scouts and every other male space in the 90s and 00s.
I've been fallowing this since the beginning. The only part that still bugs me is that SJSU has managed to get their away games involving the BOYcott switched to home games. What this means is that the University doesn't have to spend money to travel to the location in order to get the win. To clarify even further, If the BOYcott team is the home team and SJSU is aware that it is going to happen, they would still have to travel to the location of the game in order to get the win, if they don't go to the location then the BOYcott team gets the win because of the no show. The teams need to hold their ground and force SJSU to either choose to spend the money to travel to a location where there won't be a game played, or take the L. I hope teams start denying the home/away switch. SJSU won't care until it starts forcing them to waste money on a sport that already doesn't bring in revenue (and before people get upset about that last part, volleyball is my favorite sport (btw go watch Haikuu!!)).

I get some people might say sports aren't important, but you got to admit putting men, even if they're on hormone blockers, are on average taller and stronger than a average female. Also transitioning cant magically make someone shorter or taller, so the argument of they transitioned so it all fine doesn't work, unless the person who transitioned cuts off their leg or go though shin lengthing surgery, their height doesn't change. This gives them a advantage in sports, especially contact sports.
I as a biological female feel uncomfortable fencing or doing any kind of contact sport with another girl because im about a solid 10 cm taller than the average female in my home country.

The fact that we are going backwards in terms of women’s rights is so sad. It is great that women who are actually being affected by allowing biological males in women’s sports are fighting back. I feel like these women need to set up their own sports leagues, with their own rules on who can take part. Keep fighting the fight!!
What’s crazy is no one talks about if it’s fair how come you don’t see any females going into the male sports category let alone winning anything or let alone coming in first place. Also, there are more females than males who are trns. Yet just show me one female and a male sport who won anything. On the flipside there are dozens and dozens of males who have crushed female records.

Literally, half the reason I support Republicans is because they are actually standing up for woman's rights, except for the case of abortions, in which I do dislike the Republicans for, but it's not enough to counter all the other good they are doing. Not to mention, Trump isn't even for or against abortions, he's just for making it a state issue instead of a federal issue, which I agree. Local states (and for that matter, Provinces in Canada) should have more control over there autonomy and governance than the federal governments allow them.

When Riley first stated she would not compete, I said others needed to follow in her footsteps! Yes, it would come at a cost, but it would mean a lot to women in the past who fought for where women are now. If this fight is lost, what was gained in the past will have been for nothing, and for the future, what would a young girl have to look forward to!

As a man who played high school sports way back in the 80's when women really were pushed aside, I support this 100% wholeheartedly.
Not only is it unsafe, but it's unfair. That man playing is taking scholarships and other accolades from deserving women athletes. If the trans community wants to play in sports so bad, let them make their own conference. Just like women fought to do.

Here's the problem with this specific case: Where's the men's varsity volleyball team? This is one of the few sports, field hockey being another, where Title IX would require a biological male be allowed to play, regardless of what they identify themselves as. Normally you would take some proactive safety measures by requiring the male to either play as a libero, or not allow them to play ahead of the attack line. So if these ladies don't get their way, this is going to be why.
Perhaps men's volleyball teams should be considered.
Title IX is the reason for so few men's volleyball teams in the first place. Those opportunities for boys are taken by the football team.
Massive respect, to these young women, for standing up to injustice.
A personal note, and maybe a bit of inspiration.
Why not have these girls actually attend the match, where this boy is supposed to play. And the SECOND he puts a food on the court, they all turn their backs to the field, and those on it, step off, and join their team backs to the court. Until the boy leaves !!! That way, they don't have to forfeit?

I am a volleyball player, and when I first heard about this I was shock that they let a grown man that probably didn't make the men's team who wanted to play just said that they were a women and out performed the young women who tried out just as he had for the men's team but instead of getting better he took the easy way out and said he was a women I hope that young women learn more than he did and get better rather than taking the easy way out.

I was at the SJSU @SDSU game. there were metal detectors and Campus police around all over. Usually the games have around 100 but this game was over 300 and it was intense in the stands.

I've been fallowing this since the beginning. The only part that still bugs me is that SJSU has managed to get their away games involving the BOYcott switched to home games. What this means is that the University doesn't have to spend money to travel to the location in order to get the win. To clarify even further, If the BOYcott team is the home team and SJSU is aware that it is going to happen, they would still have to travel to the location of the game in order to get the win, if they don't go to the location then the BOYcott team gets the win because of the no show. The teams need to hold their ground and force SJSU to either choose to spend the money to travel to a location where there won't be a game played, or take the L. I hope teams start denying the home/away switch. SJSU won't care until it starts forcing them to waste money on a sport that already doesn't bring in revenue (and before people get upset about that last part, volleyball is my favorite sport (btw go watch Haikuu!!)).

I get some people might say sports aren't important, but you got to admit putting men, even if they're on hormone blockers, are on average taller and stronger than a average female. Also transitioning cant magically make someone shorter or taller, so the argument of they transitioned so it all fine doesn't work, unless the person who transitioned cuts off their leg or go though shin lengthing surgery, their height doesn't change. This gives them a advantage in sports, especially contact sports.
I as a biological female feel uncomfortable fencing or doing any kind of contact sport with another girl because im about a solid 10 cm taller than the average female in my home country.
Testosterone builds muscle it's growth hormone that is the problem and you better not mess with that one and they know why.

This movement would become so powerful if other sports teams affiliated with these schools would also refuse to play against San Jose State, like football, basketball, golf, baseball, softball, etc. That school will certainly get the message if their entire sports program suffers for a year as a result of their insistence on allowing a man to play in women’s sports. No pressure to these other sports teams, maybe it’s not their fight, but just a thought.
