"Former President Trump took to social media late Tuesday to blame technology for his “different and strange” voice during a two-hour conversation with tech billionaire Elon Musk on the social platform X’s live audio feature.
“My conversation with Elon last night was heard by a RECORD audience, and was really something special, as Elon himself is very special - and I thank him for such a strong Endorsement!” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Unfortunately, because of the complexity of modern day equipment, and cellphone technology, my voice was, in certain areas, somewhat different and strange. THANK YOU. I was blessed to have many grandparents and great-grandparents who lived to very ripe old ages, and I also worked in geriatric nursing for 3 years. He sounds EX-ACT-LY like someone who is giving their mouth a break while their teeth soak in Polident. He obviously figured since this would be an audio-only interview, nobody would be able to tell. To me, the actual difference between the two clips just sounds like clean in-the-room audio, vs a bad lossy audio compression codec (which is very common in voice-over-internet applications.. and streaming platforms which prioritize video over audio quality).
The "slurring" or lisp that is apparently in the 'bad' version doesn't sound like it's coming from his mouth, it sounds like the reverberant sound of the room is blending with the direct sound of his voice and extending the perceived length of his 'S' sounds. The reflected sound is still present in the "better" recording, but the improved audio quality allows us to hear the separation between the direct and reflected sound.
[Context: I'm not at all a fan of Trump, but I have been an audio engineer for roughly 23 years.]

🎉 If you watch the video that someone recorded of him during "the conversation with Musk", you will see that he has a full set of teeth in his mouth. Natural or artificial, Who knows? Since this has happened many, many times since he has been put in our faces Every Single Day since June 16th, 2015, As a retired nurse, I suspect that the intermittent slurred and affected speech is from a medication that he takes, which causes dry mouth as a side effect. It could be from something as common as a decongestant or "allergy" med. This is the most reasonable explanation for someone who is 78+ years old. 🧓 🙏💙🌊🇺🇸2024

Lol they cleanup the slurred speech with a De-Esser and EQ adjustments. You can tell the perfect recording was corrected in the 4k to 10k range. They removed the slurred speech and corrected it by boosting EQ
I'm convinced he has a cross between dental implants & dentures. Its call 'all on 4'. A semi permanent denture anchored by 4 implants so they only take em out twice a yr for cleaning. Its a slightly cheaper option at 20k for set of uppers. My 81yo dad has em & sounds like this when theyre out a few hrs for cleaning. And Trump is notoriously cheap. Plus that can be done in 24hrs. Implants & surgery takes time & patience. Neither of which Trump has.
