NJT EMD’S ON THE MARCH AND “ERIE” TRIFECTA!!!! 1/4/24

- Like a conquering army, New Jersey Transit’s EMD fleet invaded the scene with the intent of defeating all competition! Indeed, it sure felt that way. We saw a huge armada of Classic EMD’s. Some are seen at Hoboken along with still active F40PH-2CAT #4120, but it was Secaucus that saw an infinite barrage of the EMD’s. Never have I seen such an occupation of these machines at this location. We also saw the “Erie” heritage Geep on 3 different trains. It’s a gorgeous locomotive that ranks right up there with impeccable heritage schemes of other railroads. CSX, take note. We end the video with an inspiring musical tribute to these magnificent machines.(with the photo collage. I had background music, but I had to delete it due to copyright restrictions. I had thought it was non-copyright material, but it is what it is.)
💕Wow, you really loving these EMDs. Amazing video Tim!💕
I love my local railway museum, NJ Transit. The EMDs are truly amazing
A true local rail fan classic. I so do appreciate your equipment knowledge & the joy of expression in presenting your images to the viewer. It is you & your commentary that entices my viewing to your offerings. I have spent much of my life simply using the transport system you document, yet I do recognize & honor the history AND story behind railroading in our metro area. This is why I enjoy AND appreciate your videos. And I guess, even though you are a retired airline executive, that you can be trusted to "share the lore" and "mystique" of railroading!!! Again, thank you for sharing this story & a Happy New Year to you! This is Peter; out!
I sincerely appreciate your testimonial. I do it because I love it.
One of your best! . Loved all the Geeps with those glorious EMD 645 engines reving up. Especially love “Erie”4210.
Do you know the backstory of that locomotive when it was new it was one of three Penn Central locomotives that decided to take a run for it on Southeast Expressway in Boston back in 1969. What an effort it was to get them off of that highway.
Always great videos. The Erie loco looks gorgeous.
My wife has PT in Oradell and I park next to tracks just north of Oradell Station, so I see all these beauties regularly.
Sweet NJ Transit & Metro North Off Peak & PM Peak catches who doesn’t love EMDS at the start of the new year,
I hope you had a super awesome amazing Holidays and well spent. Ahh I Love EMD Locomotives so much. Seeing them start up 🆙 and throttle up is forever music 🎶 to my ears 👂 keep them astonishing videos coming my Brothaaa. More Life More Health. God Bless Always Bro 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Can’t wait for more railfanning exclusives this year hehe. Sincerely Steven.
I wish I could travel around the PA NJ and NY regions, because I really anything. Oh, I can't say that I never seen anything like you have videos of, but your videos make me feel as I never traveled before. Thank you Mr. Tim! I hope if you get on the Warminster / Ivy Land Branch, I sure hope I catch an eyeball with you.
Great job once again
I’m glad that NJT 4203 was on the Hoboken Division and I was able to see it in person 3 days ago, my all time favorite GP40PH-2B fleet! And its paint got fresh.
Looked real good!!!
NJT 6012 still got a Raised Letter K5LLA. It’s on 1622/1621
2:46 one of the trains that used on the former lower Boonton Line in 2002
Great railfaning 😊
I didn't know...Tracks on both the upper and lower levels of Secaucus Junction are connected via the Morris Line between the interlockings of 'WEST END' and 'HUDSON'!
Nice video. I wish LIRR had as much variety in diesel locomotive power as NJT.
Hoboken really is a working railroad museum
That is true. But this video was taken at Secaucus, not Hoboken.
@@jamesf.ryaniii7918 the first 3 minutes were at Hoboken
You got everything except the one-of-a-kind MNR 4906 GP40PH-2M.
I’ve gotten that umpteen times.
Comet IV’s are rarely seen on the Hoboken division
Long live the Geeps
22:46 Cleanest GP40PH-2B I ever seen on NJT
Edit: until it was seen with weathered Comet’s that have seen their own better days
Those 'Geeps' originating out of Hoboken ruled the NJ rails that day!
Never seen so many, the ratio was very high.
Do they run express trains out of Hoboken to spring valley or pt Jervis?
They all stop at Secaucus, then a couple do long express runs after that
Happy New Year to you, are you having any trips away from your usual railfaning area this year or even other countries?
Plan to go to Toronto in July. May go to Virginia in spring
Great video!!!
Anyone have any idea why 4210 Erie says "MPSE-30" instead of GP40PH-2B?
Is is a historical Erie loco class name?
I believe it is
@@3985uprr That's what I was thinking. It's in the format of an Erie loco class.....but the Erie was gone before the GP40s hit the rails. So, it appears that it's a made up class number like what the Erie would have called it if they owned GP40s.
How can you tell the difference between the trains that are Metro North and the NJT trains? Do the Metro North services always have a Metro North painted engine on the consist?
Not always. Otherwise I use timetables and research
@3985uprr I got a railfanning video idea. You should go to Dutchess County, NY along the hudson line. You get some really good high speed diesel action from Metro North and Amtrak and beautiful scenery.
NJT views the NJT locos and the MNR locos as a "pool" of locomotives. To them, a loco is a loco....and a passenger coach is a passenger coach....it does not matter which railroad purchased it. You will see a MNR loco going west to Dover and a NJT loco going north to Port Jervis or Suffern.
1:25 was gonna mention Metra because they ONLY roster EMD prime movers (except for the Metra Electric)
Don't forgot about the MP36's that's the other exception on metra!
@@dannycohen8870they still have EMD prime movers
