😂 Frankinbatting! Oh my gosh that’s hilarious!! I just love you! Such a cute bag but I honestly just love hanging out with your great personality and your inspirational vids😊 ☕️ ❤
Great tutorial! Using this pattern & tutoial, my summer purse is done. I love the elongated rectangle shape, not a fan of the traditional tall crossbody purses. Thank You.
Amazing! The hard part now will be deciding on fabric choices. Thanks for the calm slow instructions. I'm excited to make a new bag because my current bag is almost to ugly to be out in public 😊
I LOVE Crossbody Bags-- & this one is So Cute!! Love the patchwork too!! It appears to be an easy make, so it's going on my list!! Thanks so much 4 sharing!! 😍💗😉
Absolutely adorable! Here I am in the middle of 3 other projects and now I have to stop and make this cute, cute bag! I love the colors you’ve used, too!! THANK YOU!! 😊❤🎉
Very, very cute bag!!!!! I'm always amazed by your bag designs, because they tend to be 1-seam projects. How you come up with these construction designs truly has me shaking my head is astonishment. Another great video, Tracy!!! Wish I had the time to make one (and finish a certain sewing project!!!). Hope you had a very blessed Easter! ✝
Tracy great bag! When you are sewing it together have you ever considered starting your stitching by your right hand. You can sew all the way around and leave opening without breaking thread and starting again.
Such a fun bag to make. Made them for my granddaughters for Christmas. They loved them. I love the patchwork look to this one. Oh the ideas you give us Miss Tracy. You’re just the bomb digity. 🤗🤗
I love the idea of a one seam pattern! Now if you can tell my ruler to draw straight lines for my rotary things would be wonderful! My bag was completed in less than 2 hours. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. I will be making more of these for birthday gifts and Christmas! Glad I found your page!
This bag is so cute! Love the colors you chose for your's. I plan on making one for myself. I like how you put it all together at the end as well. However, after you used numerous seams to create the patchwork outer fabric, more to quilt it, another on the pocket, and a couple more to sew the front and lining fabric together before the final stitching to put it all together, I found it humorous that it's called a "1 seam" crossbody hack. Yeah, after your 10,148-ish seams, it made me giggle.
At first glance it does seem complicated....try it first on a long piece of muslin so you can get the hang of it....the technique is super simple with stunning results🤩
What a gorgeous little bag!! And very straightforward, especially with your very clear instructions. Love the patchwork look, but I could see it with a plain fabric too, like denim, or crazy log cabin . It's a great size too, just big enough for purse, phone, keys, lip balm, pen. Fabulous! I've started making a back pack style bag but will be making one of these too. Great gift idea, thank you for sharing this 😊👍❤️
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Tracy, for going to all the trouble to figure this out! I’m sure your brain felt like scrambled eggs, by the time you were done! I still hvnt made mine, so this is in time! 😊 I bought some denim for mine bc I wanted it to be super washable, since, tho I hate to say it, most houses I hv looked at are super moldy, and I hv to decontaminate the moment I get home. I’m very sensitive to mold. Too bad you can’t tell from the pictures to stay far away! 😬 Who knew house hunting wd be so hard and so un-fun!? Anyway, now that I’ve seen your gorgeous patchwork version, I think I’ll hv to make a pretty one too! It’s just like making a quilt, in that the choice of colors can make or break the project; don’t you think? You hv really good taste! If I see something with fabric that looks ugly to me, it’s hard to see past that to recognize a great design, even tho changing fabrics cd make it beautiful. But if beautiful fabrics are used, I can still imagine it in other colorways! Does that ever happen to you? Anyway, top notch! I love the patchwork version! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
You're welcome Susan❣️ I just had to take the time to figure it all out....because if you don't place the pocket right in this type bag then you could end up with an upside down pocket LOL🤣
@@mrsducky3428 Thank you for the suggestion. But I’d hv to wipe me down too and I hvnt figured out how to do that yet! 😂 So when I get home, everything goes into the wash with vinegar or borax. I wear crocks so they can be washed too; and then I go straight to the shower 🧼 🚿 It’s distressing to realize that so many ppl live in these sad conditions. 😬
This is wonderful! Now I have to stop everything else and make a bag! If you don't mind me asking, could I use fusible foam instead of fusible fleece? I use Matilda's Own single-sided. It might be too stiff. Thanks from Australia 🦘
I absolutely love the fabric you used. Would you happen to remember what collection you used? You have such great taste with color combination. Do you have a tutorial on color blending or how you pick out your colors and patterns? I’m new to quilting.
This is such a cute bag, I love it!! BUT, my brain light bulb is not that bright when it comes to sewing things like this 😆 Too hard for me, uh unfortunately
Just finished my bag. Used two Tula Pink fabrics and the aqua webbed quilt strap from the March See Sampler😂. I am In love. Kind of killed my fingers but who cares 👍
@@TheSewingChannel I used soft and stable On the outer fabric and a fusible interfacing on the lining. I struggled. Rheumatoid arthritis does not play fair. But I got it and I love it 🎉🎉🎉
You promised me a long time ago that you were going to do a purse with a magnetic snap. 😂😂🤪 Looks like I’m going to use some cheap fabric and make a mock up because I have no idea where to place the magnetic pieces in order for them to line up correctly because once you sew them in that’s it you’re done otherwise you have to rip the whole thing apart
One seam closes it all up...In my original design I use one long piece of fabric to make the bag✅ So many people wanted variations to make it..but in still continues to be called the one seam crossbody so everyone knows it is the same bag.
Looks like you did this the hard way. Why not just cut 2.5 inch strips sew them all together to get a finished length of 26.5 inches and have those strips long enough so that they would equal 14 1/2 inches. And then cut them into your squares
😂😂😂 you didn’t even take your own advice by stay stitching an eighth of an inch around the part of the purse that make up the fabric square patches that’s why your seams came undone. 🤣🤣😝 Perhaps for anybody else that is doing this exact method maybe instead of marking 8 inches at the beginning mark seven and three-quarter inches so that you’re not having to deal with that Center seam. Don’t know if that would throw off anything else though. Or instead of pressing that particular seam open press to one side so it lays flat and maybe stick some 1/4 inch wonder tape down to keep it out of your way I have done a similar purse with that type of accordion pleating I like to iron each of those pleats maybe use chalk instead of those heat erasable pens
🔴Finished Bag Measurements
For The 1 Seam Crossbody Messenger Bag
8.25" High
13" Across
2.50" Width (front to back)
Thank you!
I practiced by folding a scaled down long piece of paper the same a the bag and a stapler to 'sew' as a practice I can hold to remember

Great idea! I'll have to think on that one...hard shell or soft shell case?
Just love it. Will have to have a go when I finish my scrappy bags 💕💕🇦🇺🇦🇺

This will make a cute and handy bag. I love the closure, no snaps or magnets.
You are too clever! Just love it. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Thanks so much Beverly🤩
This is awesome, Tracy!
Thank you so much Christine🤩
I would put a magnetic closure on the flap to keep it in place and use the other piece of webbing as added security. Cute bag!
The one seam patch crossbody bag is SUPER cute sis!!👀😀❤
Right!! LOL🤣 I love it❣️
Love this wider size! I made the first crossbody bag and love that too. Never can have enough bags!

Thank you Destry❣️
Thank you for the updated bag tutorial! 🥰
I literally just watched you other tutorial on the tall skinny bag. ❤ I want to make one like this now and add a zipper top.
This looks perfect for carrying a disc bound journal! Maybe stitch the pocket to hold a couple of pens! Thank you!
Great👍❤️🙏😉🐾

Genius. One fold at a time and we will have it done.
I love this, but, do you have another tutorial like this but without the flap? Thank you.
No all of my one seam bags have a flap...but that's a good idea though...I'll add it to my list🤩
Totally ❤ this pattern! Hope to make it soon.
