If he did, he could’ve been OP. It’s a Gohan who would’ve never stopped training because he has more of a reason to stay like that. Teen Gohan was great but it also sucks how that Gohan couldn’t stay like that because he didn’t like fighting. Gohan in general would only defend the earth if he has to.

Eventually Trunks gets a small lecture by SKoT about how reckless that was, but she forgives him and tries to calm him down. He unfortunately gets worked up over CAC stopping him and boom there opens a new potential character arc. Hypothetically Trunks loses. Rains- Trunks sees the familiar rain and realizes what is about to happen, but CAC stops him and they return to SKoT. Trunks would get lectured again, but this time his job is on the line since he was willing to disrupt time and alter the future and or branch of new futures. (I see SKoT being less lenient here because he was gonna make a mess, whereas the other version he ultimately failed regardless and had to re-experience the pain of loss.) Sorry for the essay lmao.

Avila Leo Zamasu comes from another timeline but would some other Zamasu try and destroy this Future Gohan timeline? The original timeline was that he was supposed to die and they then messed with time.
Well, would Vegeta even let Gohan die? I feel like he would but he knows he’ll die too. So, if Trunks wasn’t like Vegeta, Trunks would probably fight you since Gohan who was his master and like a brother/father to him.

Xenoverse may not be cannon but it doesn’t ignore the fact that Future Trunks of cannon is the best hero type character of DBverse, just the way Toriyama San wanted it.

Dameon was incredible but Kyle did amazing as well IMO, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 and Xenoverse 2 really warmed me up to his crack at this version of the Gohan character.
The flash backs they added broke me. Trunks has to have some serious PTSD after losing so much at a young age. Hearing Supreme Kai of Time beg you to stop him from saving Gohan makes me feel so conflicted. The only thing that would've hurt more is if they made you fight him to stop him.
I love it how future Gohan totally acts like a father towards future Trunks even when he’s standing there all grown up. He’s asking the time patroller friend(aka us) to look out for Trunks. That in itself makes future Gohan and future Trunks the best father son relationship in the series. Also this is really brutal on Trunks. He already saw Gohan die once when he couldn’t do anything about it and now he has to watch happen again when he can do something about but isn’t allowed to.

With Future Gohan, it’s one of the very few deaths in dragon ball where death actually mattered. He died once and couldn’t be brought back. It sucks since Future Gohan doesn’t have a lot of screen time in the anime, not counting the things the other Gohan experienced prior to when Future Trunks showed up.

This was the kindest thing Trunks could have done for Gohan, letting him know that the future was safe and his fight did have purpose. Gohan likely knew he was going to his death, and he went to fight alone anyway, nothing is more heroic than this.
