unfortunately she already got spoiled on somethings by her own twitch chat, which is really sad. I really hope she'll find another series she enjoys just as much and is able to get through it without people ruining it for her.

It's hilarious how this didn't at first (on the surface) seem like something my son (21) or I would watch, but we're both hooked. It's just so good. The episode that just aired had both our brains bouncing all over the place. I love the story telling, it's incredible.
Maomao: "People naturally listen to stories that interest them." Jinshi: "But don't you always cut me off mid sent-" Maomao: "Well, would you look at the time, another boring conversation averted, later Jinshi!"
All the people leaving "hints" and "clues" aren't being clever; it actually ends up being annoying, and almost as bad as straight-up spoilers. The whole point of REACTION videos is to go into the content BLIND, reacting to things organically as they unfold. If you try to "nudge her in the right direction", you don't show care about seeing the reaction as intended; feels like you care more about appearing smart (just because you've seen it before and have information she doesn't), and/or having influence on the outcome.
Facts mate facts also add in the people who confirm her THEORIES. Her speculating and saying that she thinks she is right is NOT an excuse to say that she is right! Like say for example she says something like "OMG! this person is going to lose this fight", if you spoil the outcome there's no reason to care as much anymore.
Right, because Alicia REALLY enjoys the process of figuring things out herself. Especially in a show like this, where you're EXPECTED to piece things together as they go along and can feel good about yourself if you figure it out b4 the reveal. All these people giving "hints" and spoilers to feel smart themselves only end up souring that experience for her, the person we're here to see enjoy it. Also, ANOTHER thing other comments have said that I agree with: simply [not rudely] clearing up confusion about something the show fully intends for her to see (like when misinterpreting an awkwardly translated line or mistaking one character for another, and not done as an intentional red herring) is NOT the same as hinting/spoiling when the show is PURPOSFULLY misdirecting her.
I cannot wait for future episodes, Alicia's intelligence in deciphering from context clues, story beats, whatever plus this anime that does an excellent job at manipulating those elements make for so much entertainment, genuinely one of the best reaction series for me right now is this series.
That guy gives me so much ick, too The voice actor's intonation, the direction, his appearance, his attitude, his actions, the sketchy things he says...all of it comes together to just give the perfect ick.
On rewatching, I can't help but think ( I do not know, have not even finished the anime) this sketchy guy is the one who both gave that pipe to the warehouse man to blow him up, and gave the brother the info on seaweed poison, like some sort of Moriarty to Maomao's Sherlock.
Fudge . . . I think I'm going to have to pay for her Patreon. She's reacting to Lakan how I thought she would, and I just need more. So good, I don't think I can wait for RUclips.
to be fair to the strategist, "i wanted to force myself on her" wasn't quite translated properly. i don't remember the exact wording of what he said, but it was basically implying that he just wanted to sleep with her, that he was attracted to her, not that he wanted to force her into anything. yeah, he's super sketchy, but not that sort of bad from what we've seen and heard so far.
I always thought that he used "forced on her" not because it was an exact truth but because he wanted to see Jinshi reaction, interesting to know it was mistranslated.
Lakan (the monocle dude) and the answer to his question is critical to the coming arc so I can't and won't talk about that. So... the case? Well it is a tradition now... China and Japan are not the only nations to have deliberately eaten poisonous food. Fugu being the most famous has a lethal paralytic poison in different organs depending on species (Liver, testicles, ovaries, and even skin). In England's pre-industrial revolution there was a type of herb that was used in certain dishes that was in fact poisonous; unfortunately I was unable to relocate the source (It may have been Broom, but the plants description doesn't match my memory of the plant in question), in small doses it was fine, but cumulative poisoning was a serious threat. You wouldn't live long enough to get fat off food containing this seasoning as the body struggled to remove the poison, and eating more just kept adding to the amount till you died. I was unable to narrow down the seaweed to a particular species (Such as Nori) so I can't say for sure what the poison was, but it may have been Domoic acid, which is also a neurotoxin that can build up in certain algae blooms and shellfish, but that was first discovered in a seaweed called dōmoi, which is a red algae. Today a fair amount of research is being done on edible seaweed to determine it's health effects and looks to mitigate the problems of various toxic elements. Today that includes, Iodine, aluminium, and heavy metals absorbed by the algae, alongside arsenic compounds and the afore mentioned Domoic acid.
Lakan definitely gives off a shifty impression. If I had to describe him with only one word, it'd be 'oily.' That's just going by his appearance and demeanor, by the way. He has very few actions at this point by which you can judge him. Or backstory. The dude's an enigma, and not the kind you want to go near.

The plot thickens, like cheezy soup.
Basen is sparring partner with Jinshi and apparently trusted by Gaoshun, his attitude aside.
Maomao really knows how to diss Jinshi. This reminds me of Lizzie and Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, well not as vulgar and dangerous.
