    Something about Wolff's non conventional swing is so fun to watch

  • @bakervinci163
    @bakervinci163 Год назад +1

    I just started swinging this way today , because I can’t shallow the club the traditional way. I hit balls for 20 minutes and shot 38 with this swing. For 60 yards in, I’m swinging my 60 degree the traditional way. This swing is way more natural for me

    • @smallraymond1

      Me too recently. I fell apart one day and couldn't get anything to feel right. I started doing what I have been calling the Furyk/Wolff swing. I've been striking the ball the best ever. I'm sure coaches would cringe, but it just feels awesome.

  • @wks4511

    Good stuff guys. Matt shows that there are different ways that you can swing the club. As long as you are in the right place in the hitting zone.

    I've been trying this (the vertical lift and loop to shallow at the top) at the range today. Couldn't make it work with my driver but my mid irons were beautifully compressed with very little effort. I love it. As you swing back it's like what the hell am I doing, but through the ball, it's awesome.

  • @method341
    @method341 2 года назад +5

    Feeling like you're sweeping the ball is such a great feel. As long as I'm releasing the club, I will get ball first divot after without even trying to hit down on it. Trying to hit down on it just makes your upper body lunge forward and then you come over the top.

    Totally fan of his swing! Was he maybe an ex over the top guy? Could explain the swing motion , i used a drill to get my club plane right which consisted if over exaggerating the backswing in an vertical motion similar to his swing , helped a lot to get the club more shallow.

    I’m a 4 hc, and I find it sooooo difficult to NOT go after pins. I want every close birdie putt that I can get. I just think golf is more fun, playing aggressive. I’ve tried playing rounds aiming for the fat side of greens, and laying up on par 5’s, when I could potentially reach them in 2. Nothing upsets me more than getting a bogey on a hole that I’m trying to play conservative. You have to remember, pros have NO PROBLEM 2 putting from 60 feet, or getting up n down for par, if they have plenty of green to work with. That’s not the case for most amateurs. Those situations STILL turn into bogeys. That’s why I try to birdie every hole. Birdies cover up bogies(on other holes) nicely. Plus, it’s just more fun!

    • @desean3402
      @desean3402 2 года назад +1

      Man I feel the same way. I’m a 4 as well and shooting to the middle of the green actually feels like it hurts me more than helps because I don’t get enough good birdie looks anymore.

    • @meandmygolf.
      @meandmygolf.  2 года назад +1

      Well you’ve got to a handicap of 4 doing so, so don’t change now!👍🏌️‍♂️😂

    • @desean3402
      @desean3402 2 года назад +1

      @@jamiesloan7259 it feels like playing to the middle gets you to 4 handicap but to get lower you’ve gotta be aggressive. The scratch players I play with aren’t shooting at the middle of the green from 150 ever

    • @method341
      @method341 2 года назад

      @@desean3402 well 150 yards in you have to attack the flag, no? Because that's basically a PW for many players these days

    One of the most important things to do also before going to the range is to stretch . You be very surprised how much better and pure you strike the ball when your body is loose. All your hinges are freed up to make the perfect swing... .. that is unless you just don't know how to hit the ball. Then I simply can't help you. P.s. winter sucks!!!!!!!!!

      16:40 Matt Wolfe: "Obviously I can fade the ball." Morikawa on this channel a year ago mentioned 95% of the time Fade is his go to shot which seems true. I remember draw was a shot strategy with his caddie on a shot in Europe (the open I think) and it didn't go too well. Anyway bird attack @ 10:11 😲!

    Matt's swing, as most know, is unique. How he manages to attack the ball, flush, from the inside, in the way he does, was what I had hoped to hear and see. What you gave us could have been presented by any journey-man pro. How does he execute that downswing that always have golf announcers perplexed and in awe? You had a chance to show us something special. You gave us mediocrity. An opportunity missed.
