- Check out my school bus being converted into a tiny home. I condensed the entire 4 month build down into a 15 minute video. All the work was done by my family, my friends, and me. I have lived in the bus for the past year and am currently converting a second school bus for a new customer.

I am impressed by your loyalty to Champion throughout the entire process! 😄
The dedication to filming and editing all of this is almost as impressive as doing literally everything yourself. Super awesome man, hope you are enjoying it!
Appreciate it bro! Hope you are doing well!
ayyy another shortie with a roof raise! We're a rare breed. Great build.
I don't know why its not more common! The little bit of extra space makes a huge difference! So you are building a new bus with a raise?
A roof raise full build in 4 Months is quick! Nice work!
That is one of the most efficient use of space!! Well crafted!! Love it!
Thanks! I appreciate it!
Wow - great video Mitch! That was quite a project. You may be an expert in small bus rehab!
Wow! Not sure how I found this, but glad I did. Between the time-lapsed camera work, awesome music (checking that out next), and the epic final outcome, u should have a lot more views than this! 💯 Not sure where u live, but I don't know if I would be as eager to leave such a beautiful place. Between the green, wide-open scenic views, that amazing garage/shop, and the red pickup and tractor in the background, looks like a pretty cool place to call home. To top it off, u have such a cool group of friends/family that were there supporting and helping (I bet u didn't have to pay 1 of them)😉. Looks to me like u have everything a person could search for right there in front of you! But I get it...you're young and need to venture out into the world to find yourself and discover parts unknown. I'm just older and have had my time to see the world and discover. What I found is that I'd trade all those trips for just a few more days at home doing the simple things in life with all those people I find myself w/out now. At least you'll have an awesome video to look back on one of these days. Great work on the bus btw. 👍🏼 My only ? is...#1. Where is this beautiful place? and #2. What's under the tarp in the garage? 😂 Can't even place the make much less the model! I know it's old, it's awesome, but the long front end and square roof are throwing me off! I'm gonna guess something from the 60's or 70's. Either way, hope u find what you're looking for and eventually find your way back home to what really matters safely! 😊✌🏼
Thanks, I'm glad you like it! I built this bus mostly at my parents house where I grew up in Lancaster Pennsylvania. It really is a beautiful place! My friends and family are great! I'm sure I will be heading back home at some point! The car under the tarp is a 1967 mustang convertible. It is my Dads, he had the same model as a teenager.
awesome job!
What a beautiful, beautiful built. It is exactly what I would like to have as the way out
Nice conversion! I would definitely pick a short bus over a van or a bigger bus.
The extra space makes a huge difference!
Great job, great video!
You guys know what you doing that’s for sure , amazing job 👍
It was a great and beautiful project
too bad the video ended
Awesome!
Well done a ton of work but well worth it enjoy the journey and safe travels
Thanks Brian!
SÉ VOTARON TRABAJO TODO MUY LINDO SOLO QUÉ SÉ OLVIDARON DE LO MAS IMPORTANTE LA HIGIENE 🤔
INCREÍBLE !!!!!
Great job 👍❤️
Jealous here. Somehow I feel like having a huge shop with all the right tools and perfect grass is cheating! LOL
It definitely makes it easier! Although the build I am working on now I have access to significantly less and am still managing to get the job done!
bad ass build man.
So impressed with your work especially the roof raise! My partner and I would like to do the same thing with our bus. Did you buy any preset plans for that or did you make it up? If you have any tips you would be willing share, your advice would be most appreciated. Either way thanks so much for filming the process, and amazing job!
Sorry I missed your comment! Hopefully my Instagram message cleared it up!
Wonderful
Ganda!!
This is so satisfying to watch -- looks so good Mitch!
This showed up as a suggested video. The thumbnail made me think this was a story about a Jail bus.
Hey Mitchell, when are you going to release a 15 to 20 minute presentation video of your very impressive short skoolie?
It's on the list of things to do... I've been pretty busy. I just finished another skoolie for a customer and am working on a sprinter van next. I'm hoping to get a tour video fit in there somewhere soon!
New Home . . . on wheels ! 😎🇺🇸
Great job🙏😁😍🌈
Nice
Maravilha...Parabéns e abraços...
Hello sir. Quick question. I see you doing a lot of the conversion. May I ask how you went about planning how you wanted everything laid out prior to doing your modifications
I just used grid paper to create my layout. Things definitely changed as I went though!
my favorite song playing hhaha when i was done dying
Had to mute the relentless music and then couldn’t hear when they spoke! Bummer and not complete without a bathroom
It is a bummer
Thank you for sharing such an inspiring video , would you please tell me the name of the white wall lining boards and where i can find them ?
I got it from home depot. It's called wainscot mdf board
What we really want, are flying saucers.
True
TOP!!! N.1!!
God please tell me they have a bathroom in here somewhere. Not done watching 😂😂
do you need battery for review?
A lotta work done in 15 minutes! But is there any reason you didn't go higher with ur roof raise, Seems very minimal.
Going with a 6 inch raise made the raising process a little more simple while still giving me plenty of space while walking in my bus.
hey there great video btw i recently bought one myself but have been stuck on trying to remove the paint but saw you just painted over it what steps did you take to do that and what kind of paint
I used a tractor paint. I sanded everything but you don't need to get rid of the paint completely. As long as you get rid of any flakes you should be good to go.
@@mitchellkauffman6799 thanks a bunch for the info!!
👍👍👍
@10:12 I felt so bad for him. All fixable ✌fantastic build
Thankfully it wasn't too hard of a fix! Thank you!
@@mitchellkauffman6799 I instantly felt his frustration!
How much you spend doing this I have a bus I wanna do the same thing you gave me a good idea
It took me about 3 months
What about mods and crash safety/insurance? Don't you need some inspection of some kind?
Getting it transfered over to an rv title can take an inspection depending on what state you live in. Once it is titled as an rv insurance isn't hard to get. I didn't add any safety features other then the ones already built in by Chevy
I see that you also are using the Valence batteries, how is that working for you? Iam almost building my solar setup but did get some of these. Nice build by the way!
They have been working great for me! No issues so far. Thanks!
Do you have the actual bms or are you just monitoring from the Valence app? I have an aftermarket from Thunderstruck motors but have not tried it yet!
@@ichabodchristian7575 to be honest I don't moniter them a whole lot but I have the capability to do it through my computer. Since I have them wired in parallel I haven't noticed a difference in voltages of the cells.
@@mitchellkauffman6799 Nice, really appreciate that tidbit and will be trying to hook the 8 of them up soon! Have a n awesome day✌️
Looks great, how much was it in total?
It was about 22k total!
Is there a bathroom?????
I have a question: Is the bus a class B, and are there spots you can’t park vs a van (aka sprinter) ??? Trying to make a decision Appreciate any advice ☺️
No. A classB is a van type conversion. C-class is one with a bed over the drivers/passenger area. A school but can have a few classifications...depending on year of make, etc..mostly to do with weight. Look up on line..or ask youtube to help
With the motorcycle rack on the back the bus is definitely longer and harder to park then a sprinter. I still haven't had much issue with parking though. I can park in a normal space as long as there is room for my front or back to hang out of the space a bit.
@@mitchellkauffman6799 Appreciate it, Thank you 😊
What is the first song??
When I was done dying by Dan declan!
Nice gays ;)
original conditions usually don't need a whole lot of work... ugh.
How about shower, or toilet?
The sink faucet pulls out of the window so I can shower outside! For the most part it's been very easy to find toilets at the places I've been staying.
All that and no bathroom?
e anche questo senza bagno e doccia
Looks great but heavy. No attempt made to lighten the load.
Yeah it definitely has some weight! But it is still well below the gvwr for the vehicle since it was meant to transport 25 people!
@@mitchellkauffman6799 would you happen to know what one bench in the old bus weighed? How many benches in a 5 window school? Curious minds....
Why no bathroom?
I didn't want to deal with it because I knew I would be hiking and visiting lots of places with bathrooms.
@@mitchellkauffman6799 Always plan ahead..at least a bucket w a seat. You never know when you'll need it. Or get old/IBS and have to suddenly have it...
As a Boomer, many of my fellow Boomers say the young are lazy and useless. While it is true that many are, this is proof that many are not. Absolutely impressive work.
Zase bezvadný nápad na malé,ale útulné bydlenicko.
Děkuji
NICE COUPLE GAYS:))
Thank you
