    Really good real time stuff from multiple perspectives. Thanks!

      You’re welcome, and let us know how you go.
      One tip... the tarp clamps need to be super tight, with the knob facing outwards so it doesn’t catch on the cable stay pressing against the canvas.
      Oh and orientate the cam lock on the carabiner/tarp clamp so whilst tensioning the rope it exits from the top of the cam lock so it’s always being held by the cam as you close the lid.

    Gday mate,
    I have just bought a 2005 Ultimate and the tips with the cam locks is a great idea.
    Plus folding up the corners with the awning velcro straps is a top idea.
    Thanks mate.

      Good to hear from you Shad.
      Go to the northern penrith Bunnings, as they had more stock of these cam locks.

      Tim, pick up some 4 or 5mm multi purpose UV stable rope as well 😀

    I like the idea and it looks very tidy on the older style canvas. I wonder how it would work on a 360 with sooooo much more canvas. I will give it a crack and try but the extra canvas can prove to be a bit awkward on pack down if it hasn't been 'positioned' just right before lid closure.

    • @Ecohabitats
      @Ecohabitats  3 года назад

      Can’t help you there, as I’m not familiar with the 360. But please come back and post how you went.

    Nice one, biggest issue we have is stopping the "splashback" from getting pinched

    • @Ecohabitats
      @Ecohabitats  3 года назад

      Nathan, we found it an ongoing issue as well before I sorted it. Just make sure when you fold the flaps in at 45 degree, they’re flat against the splashback. And the kitchen end flap is folded in between the centre hoop and the splashback.

    Hi, What a great idea I have found the cams at Bunnings but what do you hook them to is it a detachable clam on the canvas? If so what brand?

    • @Ecohabitats

      Thank you, and yes it is… also available from Bunnings in the tarpaulin isle.
      I have, however, improved this method of packing up. Will eventually upload the improvement (subscribe to be notified).

      Google Tarp Clamp or Clip

    I appreciate seeing an honest packing of a camper. Gives you an idea of what's involved.
    I'd hate to have to setup or pack up in the rain.

      You soon learn to pack up very quickly :). But the pros of this camper far outweigh this single hurdle.

    Simple and effective. Thanks for sharing. Can I ask which clips you used to attach between the cam lock and the canvas please?

    • @Ecohabitats
      @Ecohabitats  3 года назад

      Shane the most effective clips are the screw on tarp clamps. Also available from Bunnings.

    Loved the instructions, thanks. I did notice the extra jerrycan set up on the left hand side near the steps and subsequent repositioning of the registration plate on a bracket. How was this modification achieved? Cheers

    • @Ecohabitats
      @Ecohabitats  3 года назад +1

      Tim, the number plate was moved to comply with new ADRs. If you check my channel you will see that I designed (& sell) a fold down tyre table, upon which the plate and light are now attached to.

    • @Ecohabitats
      @Ecohabitats  3 года назад

      Sorry Tim, I just had another read of your question and I should’ve mentioned that I imported this low profile jerry can holder. It’s fixed with 4 stainless screws through the wall & sealed of course. I may import a few more if I get enough demand. Cheers

    Have you ever done it in the rain?

    • @Ecohabitats

      Yes, and this is the quickest way of doing it to minimise water getting inside when packing up. I do have an improvement on this method which I will upload soon. Subscribe to be notified.
