Wow man, Thank you for sharing your experience. Just listening to your experience caused my blood pressure to shoot up. Your resilience, dedication and patience is commendable.
Because of you I been 2 yrs in creating my own apparel. I appreciate you always sharing the good & the bad. I’ve learned a lot through my own experiences but you help guide the way to try avoid few more mistakes 😅
I love your honesty. I have watched practically all your you tube videos. I am a retiree who wants to get my hands on printing T-Shirts just to make money on side to help with my bills. Still researching so I can make the right decision. Thank you once again.
Thank you! I was going to buy a dtg printer. I am glad I switched to buying straight up heat transfers and then using my heat press and simplify and take out a bunch of steps.
Thank you so much for sharing this video! I had the same issue with this printer, sold it out, and preserved the rest of my money! I didn't buy any other new devices before ensuring that after-sales services were practical and helpful. I lost my money, about $4000! That was a lot of money for me. We all learn from our mistakes.
This information is extremely helpful. I’m a partner of a Menswear brand and graphic tees are very necessary for branding and aesthetics. Thanks for sharing. ✌🏾

Great info brother. Sad reality, the "customer service"is always A1 PRESALE. If you ask a out support, these companies will always say "Oh yea we provide that " until you buy the machine. I learned that with a $16000 DTG. Ill say mine. RICOH. The Ricoh 6000. Same exact story only difference meine didnt work on arrival. Ink not pulling, then printer table not moving, laser not calibating. The list go on. Never printed one shirt. Not one. Just a nozzle check on paper. Emails, on the phone send pics. No tech available in my area to come out and fix it. For months going back and forward with phone call and emails. Then they tell me oh we dont we no longer have tech here to even talk to me able it for that model because the Ricoh 1000 and 2000 just dropped. Told me about a guy in California that can fix it. Yeah California. Im in Texas. Contacted that guy, $900 just for labor not even parts. Crazy. I found better luck with a Espon F2100 but it IS a money pit. Pit. A big pit. Especially starting out. Im fortunate to have a thriving business before getting in the DTG printers. And lucky to grab a contract with a local school and still not really making much of a profit. Listen to this man. It aint what they are painting these machimes out to be. The ink, pretreat, heat press, maintenance etc all cost especially for a small business get started.
I had a DTf printer and noticed all this problems in the first month so luckily put a charger back when the company refused to return the hectic printer.
That's real stuff, my brotha. You had a lot of determination, back then, for as young as you were. That means that you really believe in your idea and that's crucial.
nothing but facts here. people losing money the same way to dtf because of those same promises. and buying $5000 - $8000 dtf printers which in reality are $300 epson printer models very cheap and being converted and white labeled and marked up extremely. Just for the issue of inks clogging and they go to clean the print heads and printer ends up fried and bye bye $5,000. I converted my own epson printer when getting into this space, and was best thing i ever did. instead of wasting $5k on a cheap epson.
I'd love to own a DTF to print in-house on demand. I live in a small area in midwest and don't have the option for picking orders from from a transfer company so it makes my TAT a good bit longer waiting on orders, especially if it's a one-off custom for someone which usually ends up being HTV then, but ability to print a DTF for the job would be really nice. However, I had a high-end photo printer for about 8 years and it's similar. You can't let them inks sit without being used pretty much daily along with spend as much time doing maintance as you do actually printing products to fulfil orders. But I also know with DTF, I probably wouldn't be happy trying to work with a entry level setup so there's a huge investment unless I would start printing DTF for others on top of my own jobs, which seems like a good amount of people end up doing.
Thanks for sharing this video!! I got seduced by the great marketing and bought a DTG printer. The companies are not completely truthful in their marketing. Yes you can pre-treat with a Wagner power sprayer, but you will not have any consistency. I ended up purchasing a used pre-treat machine which greatly improved my results. They also leave out the huge amount of maintenance and consumables along with the temperature and humidity requirements. The print head will clog on the regular and tech support always tells me I need to flush and cap the machine off for 7 days. The only people making money in DTG are the companies selling the machines. Its cheaper to leave my machine capped off than try to run it.
I wish I had researched dtf journey before wasting $4000.00 on it. Things that were not shared you’ll need windows computer, I’m a MacBook girl, you’ll need buy rip software, you’ll need special ink and a lot white ink, list goes on… I’m really disappointed in whole process still trying recover from the loss. Thanks for being authentic and sharing!! This will definitely help me make better decisions in the future.
I was going thru this with transfers, not to that extent but researching which transfers to go with. Some don't lay down as nice, some literally come with NO pressing instructions. I said F it...strictly Supacolor from now on. Appreciate the free game big bro, per usual
try the Epson SureColor F2100, does DTG and DTF, price went down special to 10,995 it was last year 15,999...retail, $18,995. The machine does the maintenance itself. You just need to clean every 2- 3 weeks the heads (easy).

@@mounirhachem8733 That works for large orders. I need something for small orders under a dozen shirts. Plus I can use the white toner printer for many other things other than shirts.

i would never do print on demand. i fulfill all of my own orders. quality control is big for me. with POD you never see what the customer receives. ive seen so many bad prints, crooked designs, stained shirts, misplaced prints and wrong sizes from POD company's. and they take a big chunk of your profit. take a look around my channel, you'll see how i run my brands and businesses
Hello I have 1 question how do you get your wrinkles out of your tshirts before sending them out or how can I avoid wrinkles when sending the tshirts out because usps some just stuff the package in their bags
I started watching your channel after seeing you on heatpress Nation podcast and and so glad I did. Couple of questions: 1. I have a dtf and still can't find a way to make the image feel softer when it is one solid image. Any suggestions? BTW my dtf is very high maintenance! I have a dehumidifier and all the extras. It's still daily maintenance!! 2. Is it worth learning screen printing and all the equipment needed? 3. I love the hotronix 360 cap press, my wallet doesn't. Which one do you suggest that is a small step down from that one? Thank for all you share. I have learned so much!
Someone tried to give me a dtf printer and a DTG printer and i said no thank you, i took her sawgrass 800 and the 400 instead because those don’t require any maintenance and they are great machines with great customer service, thanks for the advice Brando, i stay away from those machines 🙏

i would never do print on demand. i fulfill all of my own orders. quality control is big for me. with POD you never see what the customer receives. ive seen so many bad prints, crooked designs, stained shirts, misplaced prints and wrong sizes from POD company's. and they take a big chunk of your profit. take a look around my channel, you'll see how i run my brands and businesses
yooo thanks for this!!
Hey man thanks for the info but am already stuck with dtf printer that ain't working
Thank you for the video was just going to buy one
Good stuff...thank you!
In theory a dtg printer sounds like the way of the future but it doesnt seem like the tech is anywhere near where it needs to be for that to happen.
i love the technology of the dtg printer. its just not as user friendly as they make it seem. hopefully they can figure it out for us in the future.
Hello I have 1 question how do you get your wrinkles out of your tshirts before sending them out or how can I avoid wrinkles when sending the tshirts out because usps some just stuff the package in their bags
Hi, what would you recommend for printing on demand in a small country store that works on dark tshirts?
Thanks for the nightmare story. Confirms my decision to have never tried to start my own company.
I started watching your channel after seeing you on heatpress Nation podcast and and so glad I did. Couple of questions:
Hell of a lesson learned , man
what are your thoughts aboud thre Punehed A4/A3 L805DTF PRINTER/? aRE THRERE ANY UNFORSEABLE PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE?
i know nothing about that printer
wow thank you for this bro
What machine was it? There some dtg’s that don’t dry up
What a good printer invest in ???
So was the humidity too high or too low?
Dam that's messed up it seems once they get paid they don't care about the customer
I bought a dtf printer with no knowledge. Waisted $3k it’s just sitting there.
Someone tried to give me a dtf printer and a DTG printer and i said no thank you, i took her sawgrass 800 and the 400 instead because those don’t require any maintenance and they are great machines with great customer service, thanks for the advice Brando, i stay away from those machines 🙏
You use the sawgrass 800 for dtf?
@@stephaniefranquez8305 no, I use it on the Sister Easyweed if I'm doing anything besides polyester.
Thanks bro
💯💪🏾
