- Classic Game Room HD reviews RED DEAD REDEMPTION from Rockstar Games for PS3 Playstation 3, also available for Xbox 360. It's like GTA in the Wild West with superb production values and an awesome Western inspired plot. Play as John Marston who takes up arms against former comrades and blasts his way through the West in RDR Red Dead Redemption.

sweetbrandigirl The Last Of Us doesn't blow Red Dead Redemption away. It's a great game but it's more linear, Red Dead is more impressive.

sweetbrandigirl you dont get it sweety. In a linear game you have smaller maps, wich means is easier to make everything look better, more poligons, better hi res textures, etc. But in an open world game where the whole map is rendered at the same time with tons of things going on at the screen the graphics usually are not very good because of that. Its a lot harder to achieve what Rockstar did with this game. In a game like tlou you cant say "hey, there is a mountain with a town on the top 10km away, im gonna visit that place".
Simply the best western gun slinging adventure ever made... and the story is just heart gripping.

I think this was the best game of the last generation. It still looks great and plays wonderfully. No one has quite matched the horse animation quality and riding.
top 5 games of last gen (that I played) 1. Halo 3 2. GTA IV 3. CoD4 4. Oblivion 5. Gears of War. I didn't have ps3 until the ps4 came out so I need to play uncharted cuz I hear IITs good

I remember checking RUclips every morning before school to see if any new trailers were posted after I pre ordered it! There was soo much hype! Especially the multiplayer! This is such a beautiful game, and really transports you back in time! The only thing that I don't like is how you instantly die when you jump into water lol!
I still come back to watch these old CGR reviews. I love this game and RDR 2 is my favorite game of all time up there with GTA SA and Fallout NV. I started watching Marks show around 2009 shortly after he brought CGR back and have been a big fan ever since. I know he doesn’t do many reviews anymore but that’s ok. Mark I hope you are doing well and pursuing what you enjoy! Thanks for all of the great content over the years brother. ✌️

This review hits the nail square on the head. You feel like a genuine cowboy playing this. Its the combination of the slightly ennioish music and the lonely desert. You get drawn into the wild west. Theres nothing to distract from the mission. Brilliant game.

no matter how much i tried i just could never get into this game, i've had it for about 3 years now and still haven't seen past the very first mission.
just keep playing it, it starts off slow but the story gets very very good.

This really was high on the list for "Game of the Year". There really wasn't any other game (save for maybe New Vegas or Battlefield) that I couldn't put down last year.

I'm finally going to play this game!! Took me forever. I just replayed Call of Juarez Bound in Blood to get in the mood (Ray McCall is awesome had to play that game again) I think I'll replay Red Dead Revolver and then this, sweet :)

Whoa... weird to hear Westworld mentioned ESPECIALLY when I confirmed the date. Had no idea this show I had just been hearing about was a remake of a 1973 film.

An absolute masterpiece of a game. After it came out, I spent the majority of my free time in 2010 playing Red Dead Redemption. I probably sank 40-50 hours or more into it. Completed the story with John Marston, then finished all the side missions, just explored and fooled around in the free roam/open world with Jack Marston and got most of the achievements... it was hard to finally put down the game and move on to something else because there's so much to do and discover.
1:19 I thought that horse had a head at both ends. Dual ended horse-awesome!
The "Shit is gonna go down" music at 3:00. A true staple of CGR goodness.

I´ll defenetly look up all the options(pros-cons). It´s been a while since I had an up to date console(hell it was de megadrive! and I´ve been buying old ones for a while: DC, NES, etc).I gotta choose wisely for this one. I have no problem on choosing one over the other. I guess it will come up to what you mentioned: the exclusives on each 1 and where will I find more fun. Thanks for the tip though. Problem now is gathering the money to buy the console and the proper TV. Cheers!

This game needs a sequel in a few years, though I doubt it'll get one. And if it does, I really doubt it'll be as good as Redemption.
