Yes, and I think this is the Classic Course being played on Pop’n Music 7. The song being played is under the genre of Classic 4, and it’s Hyper chart is considered one of the hardest charts in the entire game, especially in the earlier days.
I saw this back on the Sonic cult forums pre 2006 and was amazed. The video ended right after the music. It's great to see a slightly longer version here.
pop n' music can be insane at times, especially wity specific computer characters in the newer games (who don't really influence the gameplay. eg: a lot of the songs that use computer characters like MZD, ?/hatana, jade, and quite a few characters i haven't mentioned here are probably hard, but at the same time these characters are chosen depending on the song's genre and it's just a coincidence(?) that the charts are hard. well, maybe not. this could be on purpose) the computer character used here is harmanov (you can barely make him out there on the right) who basically appears as the computer character on pop n' music's classical songs. and the character the japanese person is using to play as here is nana (i think? the bird on the left)

guitar hero is just bemani's guitar freaks except with 5 buttons and rock band is just guitar freaks and drummania, which also are able to be played together along with keyboard mania
