I feel like this was more out of confusion from his dad’s reaction. In his eyes his dad saw him and was upset, whereas he is usually met with elation. He might have thought he did something wrong to warrant that reaction :(
Children who grow up around parents who regularly argue become more fearful and afraid from simple things like the reaction his father made. Normally a baby his age wouldn’t react but I assume he’s used to it so was worried it’ll escalate. Child psychology is truly amazing and every reaction is a sign for something else. It’s deep.
I love how when Jack sees his parents arguing or it looks like they’re upset he starts crying. And the fact that they immediately make it better is so heartwarming.
