My husband and kids love coconut rice for breakfast. Coconut rice is my husband Amish family recipe. Add two cups of coconut water to a sauce pan bring to a boil then add a cup of rice to the coconut water bring back to a boil then lower heat and cove with a cook for 20-25 minutes. You can add sugar and milk before you eat. We had coconut rice for breakfast today.

I'm glad your colony lets you go to the dentist. I had to have mine removed my junior year of high school. They were impacted. I asked to be put to sleep during the operation. I remember sitting next to my dad when I was waking up.

I got to have as many milkshakes as I wanted that week. And for protein I drank Carnation Instant breakfast. I really like BBQ chips and pretzels. I just bought some more. I used to get Godiva for my grandma on my dad's side for her birthday.

Giselle I have a couple of questions about your dog. Do you keep his food outside all year? Doesn't it freeze or get too hot in the summer to leave it outside? Does he ever get food scraps or gravy for his food? Our dogs love vegetables and eat uncooked carrots as treats. The other question is how many other dogs live in your community? Do you spay or neuter them and take them to a veterinarian for check-ups? Kona is the best behaved dog! I just wondered if he stays waiting for everyone or does he go for walks on his own. I love the walks you two take together they must be so relaxing taking in all of the beauty and fresh air. If you were to get married and leave your community would you take Kona with you? I loved seeing the mounds of snow and then you all going for ice cream! I live in New England and that is something we definitely do in the winter. I never understood how when I used to live in Fl that they would close ice cream stores in the winter!

It’s always a brighter day when you post your vlogs. Praying all goes well with your wisdom teeth removal. I remember when mine were removed. It wasn’t so bad. My face was painful and swollen for a few days, but they healed quickly. I am sure that yours will do the same. (Make sure that you have some small ice packs to hold against your jaw. They help a lot!) Being reminded of my wisdom teeth removal made me wonder something about your colony. When someone has a prescription medication, do they (or a family member) have to go to the pharmacy to pick it up, or is their a specific person who picks up all of the prescriptions every few weeks and brings them back to the people they are for? Or do you just use a mail order pharmacy?
I'm just scared that i'll embarrass myself after the surgery especially after i have seen videos of some people. Prescriptions anybody who is available and in the area picks it up.

Hello Giselle, you reminded me about your different jobs you do during your week. I’ll have to go back. I always enjoyed that. Especially the washing day. It would be fantastic to have that many washers and dryers to do my family’s laundry. I did enjoy those. The flower Garbena I believe is what they are called sure were pretty at the store. I like to plant bright flowers like that in my vegetable garden to bring in the bees. It’s quite possible I’ve asked you this before. Do you start your seedlings with seeds? I know they start with a seed at some point. Lol you are right that is a pretty sunny dress. I see you still have snow too. Ours is melting. We’ve been getting some good sun. My Italian Grandmother enforced a common tradition in our Religion: between the hours of noon and 3pm, in recognition of the crucifixion of Jesus, we were not allowed to watch TV or listen to the radio. That was 60 + years ago and thru the years I extended this practice to include all electronic devices for my kids and grandson. You might know this already Giselle: we doray our shovels with cooking spray so the snow slides off them better. I will say a prayer for the person with the "boot" on their ankle- I think it is your Dad?

Freeze drying is very good. It softens towels and makes the bed sheets soft. And it is great for removing stains. I am glad that you enjoyed the hot cross buns, I ordered mine to be delivered from a supermarket and they did not arrive, They must have fallen out of the box. I suppose I should make them, but making dough recipes is difficult for me, because I have a problem with wheat and I cannot even touch it without problems. The singing is lovely as always. You are still clearing snow, I do hope thing begin to warm up for you. Looks like your days are going to be warmer but night still cold. We have finally had some sunny days. Friday before last we had 8 hours of rain, and our town ended up with a pop up lake, but that has now gone. But the sun has finished off most of my daffodils. Your broccoli seedlings are looking good, I put some of mine outside to harden off and a squirrel ate some of them. Grrrr.

Your new yellow dress is certainly a cheerful welcome to spring. A couple Easter questions for you. Does the colony commemorate The Last Supper by having a Communion Service on the Thursday? And does everyone commemorate Easter at their home colony or do some people visit family at other colonies at that time? I was wondering - about how many dresses do you make over the course of a year, and do the girls group go through more dresses because the type of work they do may be harder on clothes? And a laundry question - besides the scheduled times for each family, is the laundry available for extra use as needed? I imagine the moms with young children have the need to wash extra bedding and clothes at unscheduled times. Wishing you and your family a lovely spring week.
We have a communion service on monday (today). Dresses we get multiple a year and then they bring different ones that we only use in the garden, some with patterns that might not be the nicest. And yes to your last question about laundry. 😊

You are still clearing snow, I do hope thing begin to warm up for you. Looks like your days are going to be warmer but night still cold. We have finally had some sunny days. Friday before last we had 8 hours of rain, and our town ended up with a pop up lake, but that has now gone. But the sun has finished off most of my daffodils.
Your broccoli seedlings are looking good, I put some of mine outside to harden off and a squirrel ate some of them. Grrrr.

A couple Easter questions for you. Does the colony commemorate The Last Supper by having a Communion Service on the Thursday? And does everyone commemorate Easter at their home colony or do some people visit family at other colonies at that time?
I was wondering - about how many dresses do you make over the course of a year, and do the girls group go through more dresses because the type of work they do may be harder on clothes?
And a laundry question - besides the scheduled times for each family, is the laundry available for extra use as needed? I imagine the moms with young children have the need to wash extra bedding and clothes at unscheduled times.

Dresses we get multiple a year and then they bring different ones that we only use in the garden, some with patterns that might not be the nicest.
