I had Digitrains perform this install for me. Wow, wow, wow! The result is truly remarkable. You have to see it in person to appreciate how well this runs and how great it sounds! When they are out I will have a Large England given the same treatment. UPDATE: I have my Welsh Pony with Digitrains setup. If anything this is actually better! Sounds great, runs great (think power pack) and can pull a lot of cars. I could not be more pleased with both locomotives. Digitrains does a fine job, highest quality DCC/Sound installs!
I would like to do this myself since I live in the states. I’ll likely be ordering very soon. I know it’s trade secrets and all, but it would be nice to know where the decoder is fitted.
Hi Owen, the decoder is tucked away on the underside of the cab roof and is pretty much invisible when viewed in normal running conditions. However John is experimenting with installing the decoder inside the loco. For fitting advice, you can drop the workshop team an email johng@digitrains.co.uk.
Will digitrains be selling this ready converted? If yes then how much? I was gutted when they announced this model would not be Dcb but you seem to have done a fine job
I agree regarding the whistle sound distortion, im hoping its a limition of youtube sound compression rather than the quality of the sound file or speaker. Hopefully Digitrains will update us.
Hi, many apologies for missing your comment. Yes, unfortunately, between the iphone, imovie and youtube there can be a little distortion. The whistles do sound crisper in flesh :)

I’ve had several 00 gauge locos fitted with their zimo sound decoders, this sounds awesome.

How did he fit it with sound? Is there a step by step process he made to do this for those who want to do so themselves?
Hi there, if you give the shop a call on (01522) 527731 or drop an email to johng@digitrains.co.uk they will be able to advise.
