    Just had the bodywork on mine repainted in the same colour (Cardinal Red), lots of new parts and re-chroming, overhauled forks and brakes, major service and tune up and it is now a great looking bike that is really nice to ride for longer distances than my two strokes. Thanks for posting this video.

    OK. So I have one of these lovely old classics back here in the UK. Great engines that come into the power band at around 5000rpm and then really take off like a scalded cat. Front brakes are not so good neither is the handling but in it`s day it seemed really fast and agile. Someone told me they were the fastest 650 of their era, mine would regularly show 120mph on the speedo.
    Mine has been standing in the garage over the last 6 years and I am in the process of getting her back on the road.
    Would I sell her, hell no, she has been with me for the last 30 years and I love her for what she is. My wife says the bike will be buried with me, bless her.

      When I took this bike ( my buddies ) out for a rip, I didn’t want to crank it over 5000 rpm’s. He’s recently acquired the bike and I didn’t want to be the one to break it , I’m sure it’s more than fine . Just me being a little paranoid.but what great character that bike has , and a surprisingly smooth motor for its aged technology . And yes Nick, don’t ever sell that bike ! Cheers

    I have a red 1982 Seca 650 in my home office directly behind me, just waiting for a sunny day. Nova Scotia has so much snow.

    I own the same bike, this bike has a sound like no other. Traveling in the past makes a man smile! When you drive past some individuals standing by the new aquired Mustang Cobra ....look over & they smile👍

    Had a silver one in the 80’s . Coils went on it twice, otherwise no issues. Wrecker told me they tossed the motors and shaft drives as they were so good there was no demand for them. A real dream riding two up on mountain roads.

    I had one back in the day- my first bike. It was an awesome ride because it never broke down on me.

    I have an 82 750 Maxim. Identical Motor just with 100 more CC's and it's a Cafe Racer now. But with very limited modification to the Intake and Exhaust and it Run's Neck and Neck with a 2015 CB-650R. Not the Fastest Bike in the World, but by no means is it Slow.

    Your just Shifting way to soon. Those YICS Engine make decent Power but You have to Rev em out a little. It doesn't start pulling until around 6500.

      I’ve been told he’s gotten the RPM gauge fixed . I’m gonna see if I can take it out again, I just didn’t want to accidentally blow up my buddies 40 year old bike . Lol

      @two wheeled warrior I've got an 83 xj650 maxim as my 1st bike years ago and still have it. There's not much torque or power down low but when it gets up in its power band it feels great. Hopefully with that fixed you can get a good pull in haha

    Nice bike. My first big bike was one of these. Had it for years before upgrading to the 900 and now have a 900S Diversion.Bo0ught another one as a laugh to go Histric racing on. Shame about the dent on the top left of the tank (is that from the choke lever? I moved mine to be handlebar mounted like the XJ900S Diversion)

    Had an 81 550 seca, aren't the turn signals self cancelling?

    • @twowheeledwarrior
      @twowheeledwarrior  2 года назад

      On this 650 Seca, they were not self cancelling , I’m fairly sure the bike is mostly stock. Except for the 4 into 1 exhaust .
