Don’t stress out about not being able to recognize them. You’re only like 5-6 videos in. It took me a couple of weeks of watching their videos for hours each day to be able to recognize them on sight. After 2 months I can now discern their voices, singing style and even their walk or dancing. Yes, I’m obsessed.
Suga has a song/mv called "Interlude: Shadow" and it's about his fears and dark side. A really good song, it even has an extended version, where the shadow answers him.
Yeah. They have so much music, I almost forgot about Interlude 😢
It'd be very interesting if they reacted to Intro: Persona, Interlude: Shadows and Outro: Ego, because those songs are based on the psychological theory/study on personality that we all have a persona, an ego and a shadow. In short, the persona is the version of ourselves that is molded after society expectations and rules, the shadow is all our primary impulses and instincts left loose, and our ego is a combination of these two.

The beauty of BTS lyrics, by RM, Suga, and JHope, are that they have their muses, their thoughts on what their songs mean!!! However, they tell Army if their lyrics resonate with you, then you are free to interpret it how you feel it helps you to understand yourself through your personal experiences! Suga, especially, takes this approach, as his songs are openly about his hardships and mental health issues, including social anxiety, depression and his OCD.
"Find me and I'm gunna live/bleed with you" - if you find BTS and their music, they will live in your mind/ears/heart and they literally bleed to perform for their audience, and if a listener is bleeding (ie hurting) they will endure it with you too, basically. Your brother got it right too, the closer you are to the light the bigger the shadow grows - they definitely feel more worried the more successful they became they said that many times.

He said everyone can interpret lyrics differently according to how you feel at that time, and that when you revisit a song, you can find a new meaning for yourself. He also mentioned that songs can be enjoyed at surface level, and also a much deeper level if you’re inclined. (This was just a para-phrase of his actual words). 💜

This was filmed outside Los Angeles, California somewhere. You should see this one Live in Grand Central Station, NY on a late show. Also, there was a gospel choir in background, but also Jung Kook did a lot of background vocals on this too. The band was part of UCLA (university in California) marching band, or they were used for the drums in the music anyway. Glad you enjoyed it. There is behind the scenes as well as dance practice. Love to see all of those.
With the lyrics, I think you had great interpretations, but also some of it is they have had a Lot of hate thrown at them (and still do to this day), and I think they are also saying - keep it coming, we don't care anymore, we will just keep going anyway and succeed! They've gotten stronger instead of being beaten down.

The dancers are from The Lab, a large dance studio in the San Gabriel Valley near Los Angeles. In the back is the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps with brass and drums. Any gospel choir had to be on the backtrack because it's not visible.

BTS used Carl Jung's analytical psychology to write the lyrics and make the official MV. It talks about accepting our shadows, which are those repressed parts of us. We can only evolve when we truly accept these repressed parts of ourselves. That’s why the lyrics say “leave me with my everything”. Only when we accept everything that is part of us can we find peace. By the way, the drums announce the battle that will be faced, just as it was in the Middle Ages that soldiers were warned to prepare for battle with drums... But in this case, in this song, it is our internal battle, the battle of acceptance of us as a whole.

This was filmed near the Sepulveda Dam in California and features The Lab, a dance crew based in Los Angeles. (Definitely not North Korea, especially since North and South Korea are still technically at war -- thus the compulsory military conscription the members are serving now.)
"ON" is about fighting with yourself, when you are so popular and successful, you become a hostage to popularity, to live up to people's expectations, life is routine - writing songs, flights, concerts, hotels, you can't go anywhere peacefully because of popularity, here is this shadow and prison, idols are not yet allowed to show their personal life and we don't know for sure if they had it, because for 10 years of COVID they lived non-stop.

If you look up Doolset lyrics of BTS songs, they include a few notes on the Korean phrases and words that others probably don't "get".

For choreo this song has the hardest one at that time. Jimin ult bias, Suga wrecker, OT7. Jimin started us off. The 2nd person u saw was V. RM the leader was 3rd. RM writes and produces a lot with staff. He is our poet. He has 148 IQ! This is the performance MV and there is one more for this song plus a live in NYC. Hope u check out the other MV. It's interesting to see all the versions especially because American artists don't really do this. =0p This one has my fav production. The droid shots are so cool. And yes pls check out the behind the scenes. They have them for all their songs. This song was a collab with an LA dance crew called The Lab & UCLA band. Sienna Lalau from The Lab choreographed this she was 19yo at the time. She has a YT. Her crew won World of Dance season 2. They are great! I listen to techno, pop, R&B, soul, country, etc. They mix the sound and it sounds great. And yeah they all give us good vibes thus we love and support them. "NO" and "ON" - in 'NO' (BTS 2013) they fight against society and concepts that oppress them and in 'ON' (BTS 2020), the fight is within themselves, against their own dilemmas.
BTS is always deep in their lyrics and contexts.

Just a note: sites like DOOLSETBANGTAN and GENIUS lyrics are the best sites for BTS lyrics. lyricism is a very important aspect of BTS' artistry.

PDOGG is one of the main in-house producers for BTS, you will see his name a lot in the credits since the very beginning

Fun fact: during the dance break that's the beat Suga created back in 2013, sampled from "Man From No where " OST. There is a Bangtan Bomb episode of him making it and showing ARMY the basic features on the beat machine he used.💜

i don't think that's true, the drum pattern is similar but not the same buuut on the other hand the beat he created on that bangtan bomb turned out to be "The Last" from his first mixtape that he released years later.

This is an alternative MV for this song, most Army prefers this one.
I think it was filmed over 2 days in extreme heat of about 40°. The venue is a dam in LA and the marching bands come from local colleges. The choreographer is a girl called Sienna Lalau from The Lab, she is in the marching band.
