if anyone wants to know what they were talking about without getting headache its basically this: The Subject: Bryson's lead arm at impact. The Problem: the crease that separates the forearm and bicep was pointed in front of him at impact, which caused inconsistencies. The Solution: he twisted that arm in a locking position which then made that same crease pointed at his stomach at impact, making the ball way less likely to go left. hope that helps 👍
Ohhh yes, this was AWESOME and SUPER IMPORTANT! Most people are too dumb and lazy to try to understand the technical biomechanical lexicon. "End range of motion with ulnar deviation" is one of the major things I've recently been doing to produce the most consistent shots across my whole bag, and especially under pressure when I get overly quick. Just figured that out a few months ago. And now I suddenly have some biomechanical language and concepts to describe what I've been doing. This is going to be a good year!
Bro... people fear a little homework and technical terms so much they will just keep hacking the ball to shit. Screw that. I love to hit great shots. the internal rotation of the elbow to keep from pulling the ball is genius. I am taking that to the next practice session. I switched to single plane last summer and became a student of Moe Norman and Bryson, and it's beginning to make sense. I love this video it went into my practice playlist.
I call mine the "ulnar snap" - yields a surprisingly high percentage of straight shots with the driver. Just lucked into it via experimentation. Limits. . .
You probably dont care but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my login password. I love any tips you can offer me!
I think he was using these great names as a comparison for what BDC is attempting to achieve with his swing rather than comparing the ability at the moment. New bodies need time to adjust, Onoku below me gives him one year, I reckon he needs two.
1 Offseason to build the body, 1 season to figure out kinks, 2nd offseason to iron out the kinks 2nd season to put everything into motion
Man I thought Sean Foley had the nerdiest golf talk ever. No way I’m getting through this video. Bryson legit sounds like the person that’s smart that talks smart just to sound smarter.
here we go again... dang man. It's called leading the pack and you will get banged up. Fuck. You guys who say that shit are so boring. Bet his 10 million in the bank don't care about a little wear and tear. 10 million gets you a top notch surgeon, by the way and time off to heal.
Ya they do but he’s not on steroids he is exactly what it looks like when a grown man gains muscle... they need more fat. I played baseball with a lot of people who took steroids in the minor leagues and you don’t get fat you gain weight all muscle and lose fat and that’s impossible for a fully developed man to do. So the huge tell is someone who gained weight and has rock hard dd tits and huge arms and neck. He’s not on roids
@@Terriblegolfer16 I hear ya. But keep in mind, steroids are in the past. TRT is what the vast majority of athletes are doing now. Nearly undetectable and easily obtained thru a medical physician. Mix TRT with HGH and insulin, and you have a golfer gain 30 lbs in 3 months of COVID Q. Take a look at the body transformation Charles Howell III had a few years back. Over a 2 month off season looked like an MMA fighter. Now look at him. Cycle on, cycle off. Time will tell for Bryson. Give him credit, he's a helluva golfer.
ftnirish74 ya Charles Howell is way different he didn’t get fatter and got bigger that’s steroids. Bryson got fatter that’s natural. And you forget it’s always been easy to get a prescription that’s what a lot of mma fighters do and what lance armstrong did. Adding more testosterone is gonna make you bigger without fat still. Trust me dude I’ve seen all types of steroids and what people transform into literally hundreds and I guarantee you Bryson isn’t on roids. If he ate as much as he right now to get fatter while working out like that and on roids he’d be double his size and not be near as fat
ftnirish74 steroids is just the word they’re really PED’s but there still is a lot of different types of steroids that can do specific things. It’s crazy
Moe Norman swing. Admit it or not he is swinging single plane style with power, and it’s working. Watch the Graves single plane instruction series. You don’t have to like it, but it promotes a repeatable swing. It’s worthy of,consideration.
As long as a golfer tries to make conscious movements that are best left to the subconscious it will take longer and longer to pull the trigger....until the subconscious stops working automatically as we it is genetically programmed to do... and the full blown YIPS will be the outcome. Remember Tiger, post Como?
As a PGA Life Member Club Professional, it's what you can do not do. Mo Norman, Nicklaus, Trevino, Bryson etc. etc. that's how they do it. Mo Norman said it best when asked if someone should swing like him. No they can't, everyone wants to do what somebody else does. I great player OWNS his or her swing and will be different than anybody else.
It's great to see young players try to be as good as they can be but Bryson has a hell of a long way to go before his name deserves grouping with the names they were talking about. But good luck to him.. He's a little different from your normal tour player and imo that's good to see
Why doesn't he just fuse his joints together so that he only has one joint - ergo the perfect swing every time. Or get a prosthetic arm which connects directly to his shoulder joint?
way to undermine all of the hard work put in by the greats to refine their swings by attributing it to their "unconscious". They worked day and night at it, and had an attitude that allowed for that development to talk place.
Sad when you want someones perspective on their golf swing and you talk and interrupt over him. Shut the hell up when youre doing interviews long enough so we can actually hear their take on it.
if you haven't got your grips sized right, you are missing a world of cutting strokes and power gained. I'd advise getting a pro to help you find the right size and get them on there yesterday! My pro looked at my hands and grip and took me up way up in size and now i am a big boy. teehee...
Todd Graves talks about this ulnar deviation much more succinctly with fewer extraneous verbiage. All credit for this should go to Moe Norman, end of story!
Not sure what the point of this was. It sure didn't help me in any way, other than a convoluted insight into how Bryson thinks about one aspect of the golf swing. Not great, not terrible.
One needs to be a physics scientist to be able to understand what DeChambeau says. It is waaaaaay over my head. I do however enjoy watching him play with his single plane swing. He has won 4 or 5 tournaments in the short time he has been on the tour, hasn't he? He could still get better and win more. After all, he is an entertainer in golf industry. Let's just enjoy his golf, not his golf talk.

It's very interesting stuff but to 90% of the mass of 'average golf club / society/ occasional golfers it's gobbledygook. Hogan andTrevino were mentioned as best ball strikers, they grew up on hard pan texan golf courses, they instinctively found a method to hit it cleanly
Ben Hogan, Lee Trevino and Jack Nicklaus golf swings were more consistently repeatable because they knew to control their hands, each and every swing. Talk about touchy feely... 😵 And All that jabber and he still didn't reveal the change he made. I am studying Bryson and I can tell you it's ball position and keeping left arm straight.
Como is not the lead commentator for this video and talks too much. Bryson Dechambeau is and therefor the reason the general public watch. He should be doing the vast majority of the commentating.

excellent- it’s basically a complicated conversation to make the golf swing easier and more repeatable - awesome

Moe Norman without the sensitivity to mockery. Top 10 means he's making a lot of cash doing what most of us do for "fun".
Makes sense. Creating anatomy locks in your swing. Cool stuff!
Brandon Grimes eliminate variables for consistency, sounds logical to me
You get it 👍🏻
it's awesome.
In laymen's terms - preset your impact position at address (ulnar deviation with lead wrist, left forearm locked, etc).

Secret to golf revealed! Left elbow to target mixed with supination. Unbelievable what it does with lag also

ForzaOwnz he did not even need that much time to adapt. Truly amazing
Golf bio mechanics should strat looking at the stops and goes of motion. All natural motion has stops and goes. Bryson is doing exactly that.
So much great info!
Does all the preset internal rotation of the lead shoulder make it more prone to impingement issues?
just grabs his elbow and won't let go hahaha
Great job Bryson, Chris, Mike & Co. 2020 USOpen won!
Just get it in the hooooooleee! Crazy crazy stuff

Courney Hallcy Who cares what you think anyway.
Stefan Pete clearly you do 🤣
JerryinSC I don’t think Courney was trying to insult him. Just saying that it might be more effective for the audience to dumb it down
John Bones exactly. It’s not complicated. There’s a more effective way for him to communicate the same message
Truly a douchebag in person! Ran into the infamous douchembo at 2 tournaments and other players were upset that they're paired with him lol
I really wish Chris didn't interrupt Bryson at 8:40. He was going to give us some more gold...
Wow putting joints through impact at end range of motion, wonder how that's going to stand up over a career.
My thought exactly.... its going quite well now though... but...

What is “sensitivity to air”?
Hot air. As in Bryson is full of it.
